RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
banana, try to clean up the inside of the engine before you install the new carb. it sounds like there will be a bunch of drill scrubs inside it. you can either use after run oil or nitro fuel (you might want to double check with someone on how to clean it). it would be a great bummer ruining the engine like that :( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GO BRAZIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Darin, this posts for you
Ehroof, that's well put. Darin, you should feel very grateful that ehroof showed up in this forum ...he has become the godfather of every newcomer in this hobby that chose the redcat way. I dont mean to underestimate other guy's suport but I have the impression that ehroof is probably the most consistent and valuable helping voice in this forum and may I add, selfless. Redcat support is great as a concept, but when I have questions or doubts, I fish for ehroof's opinion and I don't realy care about the RedC input. ofcource it is your business and maybe all this forum mambo-jumbo does not realy matter to you but if I was in your shoes and willing to invest some time in this whole thing I would choose my support guy more carefully. (dont mean to missvalue the guy behind the "redcat support" screen, some people might be great scientists but they just cannot teach... great teachers can create even greater scientists ....knda thing)

it seems like the new generation redcats are going to be showing their teeth to some other animals of the hobby [:D] lets see how the clutch and gears come out to be and of course.....the price. the volcano looks realy improved! it looks like it is wider too! aluminum buckles! good idea, now the aluminum arms make more sense... also the shock towers look the same as they were, are they going to handle the chalenge? ....next on redcats gone wild[:D]

RE: What do YOU want for your Redcat Racing RC car?
yeah! it looks like that is going to happen, but you never know... the Revo uses the same deal I think and that is supposed to be a badass truck, it should take a beating and they chose to use the same system... maybe it is not that vulnerable after all. but then again... this is redcat and not traxxas. anyway, I am optimistic, I dont think there should be a big problem. also it looks like we should be able to find other brand replacements with less trouble than for the c-hubs. time will show

RE: Where Do You Run Your Redcat(s)?
i run it in a huge gravel parking lot! it is great fun but it is.......flat. I am not eager to jump huge or whatever but I would certainly enjoy some waves or bums if you know what I mean.... I also run it in my back yard and on the street the bummer is that MA seems to be dead when it comes to RCs....

RE: OFFICIAL Redcat Racing TRUCK thread
hey hi, about the rear axle holders, I dont know about the duratrax ones, I hope they work! it would be neat to have a replacement for those. I have dealt with the problem by stocking up. I always break them by doing donuts in my back yard and hitting the trampoline leg LOL. They are cheap and easy to replace, so just stocking up is a good option. You can also try to repair it with epoxy glue untill your parts come in. Put a good amount and make the whole arm thicker by layering it with epoxy, let it dry over night and it should last for a while! the ones I repaired usualy endured everything exept jumps. about asbestos, i remember that they kept telling me to stay away from it as a kid -in Greece they use it in building houses- they kept it in plastic bags and it was water diuted. apparently it is highly alcaline and it causes burns on the skin... in other words it is like an extremely strong soap. they also use it to paint the trunks of the olive trees so that the ants and other insects wont climb up and destroy the olives. also, have you ever seen those pictures of white houses on Greek islands? that white stuff is traditionally asbestos. ...and now I grew to know that it is used in the R/C world as well...[:D]

hey, dont worry about it, they are fun trucks! and if something breaks, there are dealers that are very reliable and fast that can help you right away. this forum is the right place to be if you have a volcano. even if you dont have a volcano its a good place to be for a newbie!! alot of helpful people here... take your time and read through the forum, educate yourself on the nitros and specificaly the volcano, shead a tear along with the soapoperas that occur every now and then [:D] (what can I say.... we are all a big family with our ups and downs) and you will discover that people are more prejudice and ignorant than right when they complain about these cars... including me. bookmark these guys: www.towerhobbies.com www.clermontmotorsports.com www.topspeedtoys.com

I hope this is not too late... Yeah, the blue locktight is weaker than the red one BUT.... take it easy with the locktight in general man..... my experience s that more than one very tiny drop of blue locktight gives you a big headache if you decide you want to take that screw off.... I had to drill two screws already... I had to change my engine mounts twice 'cause I didnt learn my lesson :P

RE: need some help
stick with the volcano... it is not a bad truck the biggest frustration of a noob (putting me first) is the fact that you dont expect that hobby to be so demanding. things break all the time in all trucks. facing that problem with the volcano as your first rc leads to blaming everything on bad quality... maybe the savage or the revo will not break in a 5' jump but you will eventually push it to the limit where it breaks :D the volcano might have some vulnerable spots but the replacements dont cost over 5 bucks usually... further more, most broken parts are a result of bad driving... it is just hard to admit some times :P in conclusion, if you decide to get the volcano as your first car, it is a good-affordable way to go. keep it for a fair amount of time (lets say three, foor months) get some experience, try to learn as much as you can, dont go crazy with upgrades as fast as most of us do (well some of them are really helpfull is the truth, but an aluminum upper plate is useless, it just looks good) and then you will be able to shape your own opinion. an oppinion much more respected than a 17posts-old kid... these are my humble thoughts however your story goes, have fun, it is a great hobby
