[quote]ORIGINAL: sundogz Diego, have you had a chance to run that Fastech in fast (frothy) water yet? I'd like to see how it handles. I bet it will do real well with that hull shape - Creek/river running is not about speed but torque mainly. And that boat has torque! You can tell the c.o.g. is set right. Looking forward to the results. Sdg [/quote] Thanks Sundogz. My Fastech jet is getting painted right now. As soon as I can find some white water, I'll video it for you!

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread
[quote]ORIGINAL: asupervee72 if those are the hull choices i think i would go with the sv, it's the only one that is fiberglass and not abs, i like the way it looks the best, unless you want some figures to "drive" the boat, the v isnt too deep so i think a jet would do well on it, stick the 40mm drive from graupner in it and some decent electronics and you should be movin. if i rated it in order of what i think would be best to worst it would go sv, cen, fastech, shockwave. look here for some drive options http://www.westbourne-models.com/erol.html#1X0 [/quote] Huh? I could have swore the [link=http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/showthread.php?t=5468]Fastech[/link] was Fiberglass. [X(]

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread
There is a creek "cow pasture creek" in the mountains here (3 hour drive 1 way) [:o] When I go camping there, it is exactly what you're talking about. Maybe this summer the jet will have to come on a camping trip.

Thanks. We don't have any little rivers around here that I know of. All our rivers can carry real tugboats with barges.

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread
well, I like the speeds mine is running, the way mine is running, and the overall performance. That is all that should matter to anyone. I didn't build her for you to enjoy just like you didn't build yours for me to enjoy. FYI there is no gearbox, the ammo motor has a black cooling jacket installed. it is directly attached to the impeller shaft.

[quote]ORIGINAL: j.m. I tried to tell Diego boy on OSE that the drive was too big, but he had already cut the hole for the intake. (way too far forward, I might add...) And he wanted to use a 540l on it! He didn't understand that he would need at LEAST an XL. But you can't blame him. Hes a prop guy. This was his first prop-in-a-tube, and I guess he just needs to learn. [/quote] Whatever [i]HE[/i] said... [link=http://www.diegoboy.com/media/fastech-jet.wmv]Video...[/link]<-

[quote]ORIGINAL: sundogz Found out that a jet drive rigger has already been done (where is Dirtysouth lately? probably in electric speed forum). And I think Damfurst is on to something. [/quote] I was in on that project. It could have been a better performer had he taken his time and used a bit of finesse. Anyway Dirtysouth31 has quit the hobby all together. He dropped off a huge box to my house last night with EVERYTHING RC related inside. Including a Vac-U-Tow, and a Renegade Rigger. It's a sad day. Anyway, Don't give up on the rigger. That arrow wind is a lot lighter than the blizzard!

I believe it's a 2.5" prop. No, I'm not a plumber, although I do play one on TV... JK. I just came up with the design in my head, went to Lowes & picked up the pipes and joints. Then went to wallmart for the noodles.

Got the Speedmaster HW installed, and the stuffing tube. I hope I got the motor placement correct as I'll be setting that in place next! That motor is the Ammo 36-50-2300. It's just for mock-up, It's not going to power this boat (I think) [link=http://www.diegoboy.com/misc/100_2441.jpg][image]http://www.diegoboy.com/misc/100_2441-sm.jpg[/image][/link] [link=http://www.diegoboy.com/misc/100_2443.jpg][image]http://www.diegoboy.com/misc/100_2443-sm.jpg[/image][/link]
