I can't believe my eyes this is depron!!!
Check this out. 1 mm and 2 mm depron construction. Awesome. Pics taken from the West Potomac Fun fly today. Genleman lives in Fairfax, VA.

Airplane complete flies good F3P rolls are slow and predictable. Flight speed is slow and graceful.

RE: Aerobatics Video II
For example, if you set up your DX6i with one aileron control (either use a y harness or a matchbox for the ailerons) then go to the heli mode. This will give you throttle curve to adjust a linear feel on the engine. Also if you go to REVO MIX, it will enable you to mix your throttle to rudder to mix a little bit of right rudder on an up line and a little bit of left rudder on a down line. Finally, if your spin entry is a little off (if it wants to break one way or the other unexpectedly on a spin entry) you can use the "stunt" switch to give you a bit or rudder input at low throttle. For example, it will negate the left rudder down line mix so the plane does not break to the left on a spin entry. You hit the switch to stunt for a spin entry. However, but sure to set all the defaults where you want them for the heli mode. For example the stunt throttle curve should be set to match your NORM throttle curve, and be aware that if you hit the "hold" switch in the air your motor will go to idle or quit (back right switch). This is OK if you just use that switch as your "engine kill" switch. This demonstrates that there are more capabilties in this DX6i radio as you explore. Use the MONITOR mode to see the effects.

Dx7 has more features, mixes and capability. However, the dx6i will get you some of the basic mixes (e.g., Rudder to Aileron, Rudder to Elevator). You can be very creative with the DX6i to get some additional capability. Thottle Curve on DX-7 for electric
Someone suggested I post this here as well since it relates to electric setup for the throttle curve, to give a more linear response. The DX-7does not have a throttle curve but we programmed one effectively in giving more linear throttle feel on an otherwise overpowered small pattern model. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8823786/tm.htm Don

Layout is simple. Flat surface is easy to make. Angles are cut well on the Fancy Foam design. Fuselages to wing joint is simple.

RE: DX6i and VPP Setup
The other thing I learned was its easy to put too much positive pitch. I was wondering why the plane had more negative thrust than positive. Too much positive pitch loaded the motor down resulting in less rpm and less thrust in positive. I ended up putting the top of the throttle curve at 80 percent rather than 100 percent. If anyone is interested I can go through the programming by the numbers.

Did some setting up here are my results. Set up model on "heli" Set up the throttle curve Set up the pitch curve I started with a 50% V but moved it to 25% so the throttle feels more natural. Anyone interested in setup steps or details? Don

RE: I cannot dispute this statement
Another one will be built. This one shall have anhedral stab. Snaps in F11 are very good. Rolling loop manevuers are very good. Aircraft is optimized at the 160 to 175 meter distances. Favorable for the sequences we now face.

Of course would love to choose 3 day AMA but this forum would be for mostly pattern flyers, so my vote is biased. I like the SPA/BPA venue as well since it mixed things up a bit. Now, Gary, lets just take the whole Month of unpaid leave starting with the last week of November. Or, add a trip to Cancun in between. Hey I have to share your BPA mount this year, right? Cheers, Don

Quick Setup tips for the JR 12x
Assisted some folks at a pattern contest this past weekend for the down-timer to be turned on when throttling up. No more timer buttons to forget to press. However the SPS is a powerful tool for other applications other than timer starts. Any case: You select code 87 timer function, select down t (for down timer), scroll to Start: select SPS0. Now, what is SPS0? I stands for "stick position switch". This is a nice capability that allows you to turn stuff on and off with the stick position. To activate this SPS0, go to the System Mode (holding the ent while turning on the tx), Scroll over to 91 (STK PosSw) and change INH to THRO. Its already set up to POS 0 on when stick is moved to high (turns on the timer when throttle is moved past half throttle). You can adjust anywhere on the stick you want the timer to start, but this is the default setup. No, go back to code 87. scroll down and set your time (e.g., 10 minutes) If you want the timer to start when you advance the throttle, and not pause when you move below half throttle (i.e., stay on all the time) then scroll down to "One Time: OFF" and select "OFF" to "ON". Now basically when you plug in your battery or if glow, when you start your motor, the timer won't activate until you go past half throttle (like engine run up or during takeoff). You will hear it beep and its starts counting down at that time, with no other action required on the pilot's part. Also, Troy Newman has a long blog on this function at his site if you want additional details. site at http://www.patternflyer.com/troy/
