RE: KMP / YT FW-190 Build Thread
If you had put a larger gas motor up there you would not have had to put all the dead weight to make up the difference. I used a G38 and put the battery beside the fuel tank and up against the back of the fire wall and did not add ANY weight at all and it balanced at 133 back. I hate having to add any dead weight when you don't have to. [:@] Doug

RE: OHIO DAWN PATROL 2012
Paul and crew, another great event, the guys from Louisville,Kentucky had a most enjoyable time again. One of these days I'll have to show Blakeman how to take off without flying into the trees on a low powered plane or better yet just tell him to take off the other direction. [:@] He is looking for another DVII so if anyone has one for sale look him up. Our Bluegrass Dawn Patrol fly in is coming up in a couple of weeks. Aug. 11th & 12th ( Sat/Sun ) but anyone can come in on Friday to set up and fly if they wish to. I will attach ( I HOPE ) a flyer for the event. Doug

RE: AMSOIL SABER 100:1 PRE MIX SYNTHETIC 2-CYCLE OIL AND AMSOIL QUICK SHOT FUEL ADDITIVE
How can I find a station that has alcohol free gas or should I say what company offers it. Next question, is there any benefit using 93 vs 87 in an r/c aircraft motor ? I had heard that the 93 burns slower and would not be worth the extra cost running it in an r/c motor. Just looking for answers and learning. Thanks DougB1

RE: KMP / YT FW-190 Build Thread
ORIGINAL: kahloq Finally got some work done on mine. Since so much weight needs to be up front, I made a hardwood tray bolted to the engine mount which is also hard mounted to the firewall(so vibration isnt a problem). This tray ahs the throttle servo on it....the rx battery(2200 6v) as well as the onboard glow unit. Ive installed a saito 180 inverted and am using a saito flex pipe with pressure tap. The exhaust is routed out the side of the fuse inside of the cowl area where air flow gets through....so no additonal holes in the cowl required. Planning on using a 16x8 2blade MAS at first, but also have a 16x8 graupner 3 blade or a 16x10. Would like to try a 17x10 or 18x8, but just depends on the rpms. The prop in the pic is a 16x12 Mejzlik. More prop then the motor can efficiently turn, but looks nice for the photo. Spinner is from SDShobbies
Is yours the composite or the newer built up version ?
