Thanks for the replys guys, so Nyto97 your suggesting I leave the glow plug in for a couple of tanks? And full maxx im pretty sure its not lean , it sounds really deep and kinda gargles a little bit when Idling, and there is always a little puddle of fuel from the exhaust.. suggesting its quite rich? :S and also if I do have an air leak ! ( hopefully not! :@ ) How do I go about fixing this or can you give me any suggestions on what to do about it? Thanks in advance.. (:

Can anybody help with the fact that the minute I touch the throttle the engine stalls? I can idle it through a whole tank fine, but the second I slightly touch the throttle the engine stalls. :S

I'm sorry full maxx, but I reset needles back to factory, and the truck just would not start so I eneded up leaning the high speed needle two turns, started up and the truck ran for a meer 5-10 seconds? it sounded really boggy then flooded out, with fuel dripping from the exahust so I put the high speed needle back to 3 1/2 turns, and today it worked a dream! I managed to idel through a whole tank about 15-10 minutes ish. The temps were really good, and there was a small puddle of fuel from the exhaust which surely is a good thing as this means its still nice and rich? I will be idleing at least 2 more tanks then I will try to solve the problem of the minute I touch the throttle the car stalls :/ , bring on tommorow :)

Cool thanks. I didn't really understand just shave the side of the plug down and pay close attention when hooking it up as it will not be keyed one way Sorry :S ?

ok thanks full maxx i'll let it idle through a few tanks if I can get it through a whole tank without stalling, I may have to touch the Lsn just a tad if it stalls , because when it stalls the engine is flooded, therefore I have to unflood it and start over again which takes about 10-15 minutes. at the moment the Hsn is at 3 1/2 turns lean, and I havent touched the Lsn.

Ok thanks, I will try that with losi :S., and by stock charger you mean?? I had to go out and buy this charger .. also I swear there must be a fault in my betterys as it lasts about 1-2 hours if im lucky that not even driving around, just giving a tad bit of throttle every now and then..

I think Ive killed my reciever battery in the xxl.
I havent broken in my xxl yet , I have only managed to get it to idle for 10-15 minutes which is good :). But my battery seems to last about 1 hour then needs re-charging.. So tonight I charged it for 2 hours just using my cheap £13 charger.. I checked it after two hours by using the transmitter, it said 6.9volts , everything was working wheels moving but I gave it a little bit more to try and get it fully charged to 7.2v as anyone would.. So I came back 30 minutes later to find the l.e.d light on my charger hardly on, very very dull and flickering but it wasnt hot at all :S, so I turned it off thinking it must be fully charged.. turned on my reciever pack and transimitter to find there was now about 2 volts in it and it couldent turn the wheels, then it died on me and I couldent even turn on the reciever pack.. it was tottaly dead :S Have I fried the batterys in my car ? do I need a new battery pack? and have I killed my charger? When I plug my charger in now , it dosent even turn on..

Yep thanks full max , (: I always leave it at BDC anyway (Y). Any ideas on why the second I touch the throttle it stalls? :S. Is it still to rich? shall I lean it out another 2 turns? thats a total of 5 turns lean :S Is that normal from brand new?

Today with the xxl.
Today has been a big learning curve for me, seeing as my charger arrived yesterday, I figured I would break in the truck today.. :) At first it wouldent start at all , and if it did it was for less than 10 seconds, I was getting nowhere with it so I decided after it flooding 3-4 times that I would lean out the high speed needle and start hher up, I leaned the needle a total of 3 turns from factory and what can I say, I started up the xxl and let it idle for a good 5 minutes but the minute I touched the throttle the engine would die.. :S , started her up again this time leaving to idle.. idled for a good 5-10 minutes again, I didn't want to touch the throttle so I left it.. but it eventually after about 10 minutes the engine stalled and that was it. :D I'm suspecting its still quite rich , but Im just really pleased that this truck is actually going somwhere seeing as its been sat waiting for chargers and stuff for nearly 2 months now.. :D

Thanks willclark. That's reassured me :). & I never new you could use the spin start at an angle. It's gonna be about a week till I get a new charger so I'll keep you posted from then. It's just kinda annoying getting this truck started seeing as Ive followed the manual word for word :S. But thanks for all the replys Guys

Thanks for the replys guys, I'm now charging my spin start, and i'm gonna try and see if it turns the engine any better :). My battery died yesterday, and my charger died too.. I was charging the truck for the first time and it started to smoke after about 8 hours. Now I have no charger and no battery left :L (N)

Thanks people , I swear this is not right; when my piston is right at the top, I can LIFT my truck holding onto the pullstart handle! I then need to slowly pull the pullstart building up the pressure untill it suddenly turns over, if the piston is at bottom dead center it pulls fine! (untill it ends up at top center) Grr. Anyone else experienced this?

I would use the spin start but when the piton is not at bdc but at tbc it's nearly impossible to turn the engine over with the spin start. I will lube it up today and try with the spin start although I doubt this will work. Thanks for all the help guy's I'll keep you posted.

okay thanks full max ! This is my first rc (: Ive followed absoultely every step to starting and im just having problems :S. Im glad the whole fuel coming out and up through the glow plug isnt a bad problem though ! :) Also, I think I need to oil quite a bit down the glow plug man that thing is hard to start over! but when ive turned over the engine maybe twice? it goes easyer.. still really hard though , unless I losen off the glow plug.. I'm gonna keep trying I got it running earlier but it stays for about 5 seconds? then die's.

HELP with xxl :@
Got my xxl out for the first time today, filled it up with fuel, primed till I could see bubbles entering carb, checked glow plug works in a dark cupboard, put the glow started in and started pulling.. my pull start is hard to pull (but not impossible to pull as if it was flooded) so I losen off the glow plug a little and pulling becomes easyer.. I pull and pull and pull. xD. After a short while I find bubbles of fuel coming up through the glow plug! fuel was spitting out of it, and on to my hand and stuff. The Glow plug had become much looser then I first had it.. I think thhis was the problem? :S So I tightened the glow plug and carryed on pulling still nothing. I next got a friend to give a little throttle on the radio. only a tiny amount. It then started but died straight away. Then started and stay started whilst my friend geld a TINY bit of throttle, so I gave it about 1/4 throttle and the truck revved up as it should.. But went absolutely nowhere. I then applied the breaks and the engine died. Can anbody help me out? - What was with the bubbles in the glow plug and the spitting fuel everytime I pulled the start? & -Why , when the engine started and I revved it , the truck moved nowhere? Oh and Im using o'donnels 30% race fuel. Thanks in advance (: This is stressing me out so much! (N)

How long should the first charge be for the xxl? I would just leave it over night .. but I wanna charge it up through the day to run it this evening, So how many hours ?? Thankyou :)

Thanks but they have none in stock, this leads me to believe they will soon not stock it as fuel. and also I was after 20%. (N) I'm looking for a fuel with all the sythetic oils and stuff with the performance aswell. ?
