RE: Return of Lunchbox..
I emailed the seller, after the fact of course of being the winning bidder, and he assures me it is 100% complete, with no broken or missing parts. Kind of an extra security measure in case it's not then I have his email to fall back on with my complaint - refund whatever. although not likely I would seek restitution, it's still a pretty good deal. Looking for it to come before X-mas, then I can build it up and have 2 ready to go and switch back and forth. Gives me a reason to buy some extra batteries and a dual charger that I have been eyeing on CL.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Does it make any sense that although I don't even have my first LB complete and running, let alone painted, that I bought another one? I guess I couldn't pass it up. Hoping it turns out to be complete and undamaged, but I guess there's eBay protection for that. Should be here before X-Mas. My name is Todd and I am a LB addict. The first step is admitting it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120817075578

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Been trying to get through this epic thread the past couple days, a few pages at a time, only up to page 20! This might take a month or more. On the plus side, I did order and receive, very quickly I might add, a new Parma body and a Tamiya shock kit, part number 50520. This is the short shock set and not sure they are the right ones to replace the stock shocks, but think one will be good for the third shock use and I'll have a spare. I ordered everything from Everthing RC and they are great. I actually won them on eBay as a But It Now, free shipping and prices were great. I highly recommend them for your needs.

<![if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 <![endif]><![if gte mso 9]> <![endif]><![if gte mso 10]><![endif]> OMG! I thought I has seen some cool slow motion videos of classic Tamiya kits on You Tube before, but this guy's are absolutely incredible. I agree with one of the comments I read in one of them, Tamiya should pay him for those vids, they are the best promo videos I have ever seen done. The cinematography and editing and locations are unbelievable!

RE: tamiya sand rover 2011
Ha ha. You and I have similar tastes I see. I 'd love to have one of these and a Sand Scorcher at some point. Here's a pic of my real 1:1 buggy, and a cool video I found on youtube...maybe you've seen it? This video and a few others on the Lunchbox, the Sand Scorcher and a few others are what got me into the hobby just a few short weeks ago. I watched these and had to have one! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYuU3-vfI8c

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Another thing is when simulating a wheelie by moving the back suspension the right rear shock hits on the engine, binding up. Is this situation curable with CVA's or is this just another lovable feature of the box? Any thoughts? I even looked at this charger, http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html, but can't see what I need which is a Tamiya plug included with this one or the Dynam? They are also out of stock on the charger for the AA 8 pack radio batteries for a couple weeks. Uhgh!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Thanks for the tips and photos. Those AA batteries seem like they'd last so long you'd barely need a charger, but of course I will. Which one goes with that set? Also, any thoughts on a decent charger for my NiMH? Anyone have a spare wall charger they don't need? I don't want to drop a lot of coin on a fancy twin charger that I don't need right now and may not have another car for a long time, Lunchie might be it for a while? Just trying to get this one up and running on a low budget. Couple other things I noticed cause I'm a noob. When spinning the wheels and tires freely, there seems to be a slight out of balance issue as has been mentioned by others. It appears that they are glued. When gently trying to peel back the sideall there is no give, so I assume they are? I guess this wobble is somewhat normal and par for the course? Since they appear to be glued there's nothing I can do about it now. Another thing is when simulating a wheelie by moving the back suspenion the right rear shock hits on the engine, binding up. Is this situation curable with CVA's or is this just another lovable feature of the box? Anyway, here's how he installed the electronics in the chassis, and I know nothing about moving them or re-mounting them. My radio is a Futaba as mentioned above and I guess this is the corresponding receiver in here? Thanks again for your patience and understanding. I can't wait to hold the radio and run this thing around the yard and find places to take it to. Todd

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Here's mine so far. Just still need a charger for the new battery I just bought, a 5000mAh NiMH and some batteries for the remote and I'm good to go bodyless. [IMG]http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac354/toddolie/IMAG1572.jpg[/IMG] Mine came nearly assembled, rtr, but without a painted body and with some nice upgrades like the wheels, full ball bearings, and a brand new Futaba radio, mid grade 2PH-AM 2 channel 2 servo radio. I got a really good deal from a fairly local enthusiast and can't wait to take it on it's first run. We got some snow yesterday, and missed the chance to throw some snow with it. What does everyone use for batteries in their radios? Should I use run of the mill Duracells, or get some rechargeable ones? Do radios really use them up? Thanks!

RE: Return of Lunchbox..
Really nice LB Shenlonco! Liked it so much I quoted your post so the pics show up again. Great job. I really like the alternate green color scheme and actually considered paintin mine in a softer, lighter blue as found in the original Tamiya promo video that can be found on YouTube. Here's the link to the video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPJNXVZh2ns&feature=related, it's 4:20 long. I actually have another design in mind for the stock body that I am keeping under wraps for now until it's done. Can I ask where you bought the Parma body and how much they cost? I like the idea of using it as a back up body shell and keeping the original one for shelf duty considering how much time and effort I'll have into it when it's all said and done. I am brand new to RC at 43 years young and love Tamiya kits. I have built numerous static kits in my youth and never really got rid of the addiction. This is my very first RC and feel like I made the right choice. I t was between this and the Pumpkin. When I was younger, I really wanted a Clod Buster, so we'll see how this hobby goes and maybe I'll end up with one of those too? Post more pics of alternate painted LB's everyone!
