RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C. Part 2.
Hey guys, can somebody help. How do I align my spur gear and pinion? There is not enough room on the motor shaft for the pinion to slide in any further. Would I shim the spur gear? If so, where do I start shimming.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually found a fan on hobbypartz.com for four dollars. I found a plug and I'm gonna do it the way you mentioned.

RE: Ezrun fan upgrade! Any suggestions for 3s lipo.
I think this is what I'll do. I saw a DIY on you tube. The guy spliced the power wire (red) to the power wire of the esc that plugs to the RX. Less wiring, and I don't have any old plug ends. I have to ask before I go through all this. Is there a big difference in power compared to a 2s.

Are there any fans that are plug and play? No wiring, no soldering?

Can I splice the wires onto the red and black from the fan to the red and black from the esc, and plug it into the rx? Wouldnt that be the same thing.

Throttle trim problems with cheap radio?
Hello everyone have a ? hopefully some can answer. Just installed brushless system, everything is great, programmer the tx with the esc and everything is good. My problem is that I cant get the throttle trim just right. The car goes forward and reverse just fine but when I try and set full throttle on the trim and let go of the trigger the car creeps up, then I trim it back so it doesn't move. It just seems like I'm working the trim too much to get the car do what I want it to. I have a evader ext2 and it came with the crappy 27mghz radio from tactic. I'm just guessing it's the radio, and it just can't be fine tuned. Any offer any advice? Thanks

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
The pinion i have use a metric set screw. Most hardware stores you can get a standard and metric set. You can also try autoparts stores. If you get the set, the size you need will be in it. Mine is a 1.5 or a 2.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
No it was really easy, the only problems is that you have to solder on all your connectors, so if you've never done that it will slow you down, but even that took me only half and hour. My setup needs some fine-tuning, it's all in the tx. Having a good tx makes a big difference with brushless setups at least with this one. I'll get some pics up Jack, just haven't had time, maybe over the next few days. The reason I bought the 8.5 was that I did alot of research online, alot people said they wish they would have gone with the 8.5. Also checkout hobbypartz.com website there is reviews. Also most people said my evader would Run the best with this setup. It comes down tompreference an what you are going to do with the car. I just want something fast to drive through the field by my house.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Hey there I have a evader ext2 and with the help of some great people on this site got a brushless system running great. Inbought the ezrun 8.5t 4000kv motor and esc combo, it was $80 and worth every penny, my car rips. I have a few small bits of tuning to finish but if it ever stops snowing I can get it outside. A few words of advice, if you are using a cheap radio you have to mess with it quite a bit to get the throttle trim right. Also when setting the trim don't keep the radio close to the esc, it works funny. All in all the ezrun is great for the money.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Thanks for all your help everyone!! I think i have it figured out. I have the tactic ttx200 radio and when you go to program it with the ezrun esc, you have to make sure the throttle trim is just right. It's actually backwards from the default radio setup. The esc memorizes everything and if your trim isnt right, it'll remember that and that's where you get no reverse and sporadic full throttle. The tactic 200 is just a crap radio and the trim knobs sobs don't give you sh*~ for adjustability. I'm thinking of just getting a better radio and receiver. Does anyone know a good 27mhz system that I can use and don't have to change servos, more or less plug, program, and play. Or anything that's better with no servo swap, i want to make this as easy as possible. Thanks again for all the help.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Also having a problem gettin full throttle on the ezrun, sometimes it hits other times it doesn't. Almost like a Power band. Not sure if it's a problem when programming the radio to the esc. The throttle trim controls Suck. Anyone had this issue with this system? Or have a fix?

Tactic radio upgrade
Hello everyone, I have an evader rtr setup, it came with the tactic 200 radio. If I wanted to upgrade to the tactic 2.4ghz radio by tactic, would I need to make any servo changes? I was just going to buy the ex and tx and program them. Will this be an easy upgrade or do I have to get new servo.

I looked into that, it's set on 2. It seems like it is working alright when I'm not close to it. Cant get the trim right though.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
I messed around with the setup a little and noticed that the further away I was the better it ran and reverse worked better. Most of the testing I've been doing was on a stand. It's all wet and snowy outside. I still can get the throttle trim just right. The car will kinda move on it's own a little. It's weird. I'm gonna go through it aain an see what I can do about the wiring and radio. Right now I have it hard wired from the esc to the motor. I'm gonna put some bullets on it.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
Thanks for the info, I really do think it's the esc or the radio. I've checked and double checked all my connections. It does NOT cog anymore I think infigured that out, now it just sometimes goes in reverse nonmatter how Many times I recalibrate it.
