RE: Transall C-160
Van, That is very interesting. Mine did the same exact thing. I just don't recall if had mine set to soft cut-off or not. Are you going to leave it at the auto lipo setting? The only difference with our settups is that I am using CC45's.

RE: Transall C-160
Van, Sorry to hear about the C160. I lost 2 of the C160's. A couple of weeks ago I had a great five minute flight. I came in low and slow to see how she would sink for a landing and then did a WOT pull out. As I was pulling out my left motor started pulsing and I was unable to recover. I still don't know what happened but I am thinking one of the cells that I used may have had a problem. I can't check it because 2 of the cells were distroyed in the crash. The 1 remaining Cell only had about 1200 mah's used. (3s3p 6000 mah kokams)

Tommy, If by carcasses you mean fuselages. How good of shape are they? I may be interested. Todd

RE: Transall C-160
I was getting ready to fly today and decided to do a little on the ground testing. Lucky I did. The right motor mount broke loose on the ground causing the motor to vibrate loose. I dodged a bullet. I re-enforced the mounts and I will have to try next weekend.

RE: Transall C-160
I am going to do the same thing. This is my second c160. My first fell do to a faulty ESC. I put a hatch on the underside towards the nose of first plane. I think I will just remove the wing to access the battery the second time.

RE: Transall C-160
How are you guys mounting your batteries in the fuselage? Are you epoxing or screwing in a tray?

RE: Transall C-160
Van, Keep in mind that is for two motors running on a 3s3p pack that can handle 90 amps. So that is 38 amps at WOT static per motor and I don't plan on hovering the transall. [:D]

RE: Transall C-160
I just bench tested mine last night with 2 2820/10 running 2 kokam 2000 mah 15C batteries. With 11x7 eprops it was pulling 76 amps which exceeds the 3s2p configuration. I am planning on a 3s3p pack which will work fine. I may drop down to a 10x7 to lower the amps which looks like the 3s2p should work based on the above information, but I don't think the run times would be that great. Either way I will still use a 3s3p kokam 15c pack.

RE: Transall C-160
I am interested in how you will be wiring the system. Do you just come off the batteries with a Y cable to the speed controls? I am starting my Transall tonight.

RE: Transall C-160
I made the mistake of using eflight 40 amp esc's. One of them stop working just after take off and I didn't realise it until the plane started to rolling and by then it was too late. I will be using CC 45's this next go around. I did manage almost one full circle and the take off was easy so I know the 2820's had more then enough power. It will be interesting to hear how the 2814 will work. They should have plenty of power.

RE: Transall C-160
Any update on your Transall? I converted this model with 2820/10's but do to a ESC failure I lost the plane on its first flight. I would like to know how you extended your wires? Did you extend it between the ESC and batteries?

RE: CMP Transall C-160 ARF
It is good to hear that you guys like this plane. I purchased the camo version and I am going to convert it to electric. It is very light so it should be easy to convert. I will be using the following: 2 AXI 2820/10's with 11x7 or 12x6(If it fits) eprops 2 e-flite 40 amp ESC 2 irate 3 cell 3100 mah lipo's (37 to 45 amp) 4 hitec 325 servos Any tips or watch outs would be great.
