RE: 42cc Poulan port work?
Checked a couple engines. A standard one had, 142 degrees duration on the intake and 160 on the exhaust. A low emissions unit had 138 degrees on both.

RE: 42cc Poulan port work?
I should have figured that out!!!! Had 4 cycle camshaft stuck in my head. Built a jig to hold the cylinder if needed. Also working on a similiar unit if I should need to reach down inside it. Though at this time I have no idea why. But figured I would do it as long as I was at it.

RE: 42cc Poulan port work?
I got the 2 cycle manual but haven't looked into it yet. Noticed that several engines in that chart show the same timing before and after for total port time. Is that just a norm or is it that things work better that way?

42cc Poulan port work?
I recently obtained some Poulan 42cc engines, almost new if not new. I have never done any port work but have every thing needed to do so. I was wondering if any one has done such a thing? And what can be gained. I would do a search but for some reason I can never find what I am looking for. Thanks in advance.

RE: That Mac 60cc IS worthwhile!
I talked to a guy that did one that I am guessing is the same as what you have. Looked the same with the same cc. He said it was heavy and low on power.

RE: Iron Bay Models
I have talked with some of the people that used to work there. Sounds like they made several kits that were never released or were discontinued before many were ever sold.

RE: Iron Bay Models
Want to know what happened to those HUGE bomber planes? You know the ones that had fuselages 15 feet long (plus or minus just a guess) with wing spans that no one would have ever expected. Ya those big ones used in the show. The molds etc all went in the garbage. Along with some other items that no one would have ever guessed were still around. Don't bother contacting them, every thing is all gone! As mentioned before. It was on the market a long time. Every one had their chance.

RE: Husky won't rev up
Have tried plugs. Choking doesn't help. I got a thing to check spark while running that I haven't used yet, that's next. Forgot to mention what brought it all on. After setting all winter it wouldn't start. Found no spark. But it would give ya a strong shock. Replaced the coil. Has spark. Wouldn't run good. Found bad needle diaphram. Put in carb kit after cleaning. Ran but wouldn't open all the way up. I then suspected an air leak. You know the rest of the story from post 1.

Husky won't rev up
Have a Husky 125c (28CC) weedie engine on mag that refuses to rev up. Compression is good. Pressure and vacuum tests on the crankcase failed till I cleaned the shaft and seal areas. The tests are good after cleaning. Cleaned carb and put in new kit. Starts good. Idles good. Revs up about two thirds then just dies. Has a ZAMA C1Q carb. Needle height is correct. Needle adjustments don't fix it. Tried 2 other carbs with the same results. Has me buffaloed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

RE: Kit sent and damaged in shipment
Several years ago I went thru the same thing with the postal system. They wanted me to send it several hundred miles away to St. Louis so they could asses the damage. Then they would decide how much if any they would pay. But if they paid any thing at all then I wouldn't get it back. Damage was only partial. I only wanted a small payment, not the total value. Thought I was being generous only asking for the amount of damage instead of the total value. But the wholoe process was so involved I just let it go. I think thats what they want any way.

RE: 1/4 scale gp giles 202 and gas engine?
I have one with a 26cc gasser and a 17x10 prop. Perfect combination. Also have a smoke system in it. Never had any problem with the engine box area but the wing saddle corners are a definite weak spot. Cross cover them with some extra wood or fiberglass. Other than that no complaints.

Kit sent and damaged in shipment
I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this but it involves a kit. I sent a kit half way across the country by XXX and they crushed and detsroyed the contents. It was insured. But if you read the "by laws" of shipping it seems the insurance "might" be a waste of time. I was just wondering if any one out there has had any luck collecting on the insurance. So far I can't say much for their cooperation. Thanks in advance.

RE: How to recharge flywheel magnets?
Tried several known good plugs. Its a Walbro coil with #s on it. Its not my weedie, belongs to some one else and he wants it fixed. Far as I know both poles of a magnet have to be in contact with a 2 coil type charger. Or positioned correctly when using a discharge type charger.

RE: How to recharge flywheel magnets?
Its on a 28cc Husky weedie. I set the gap "tight" with paper but it didn't help. Cleaned up every thing also. It will really give you a hard jolt when you feel the spark. You'd swear it is plenty strong, but it won't jump a plug gap. First time I have ever seen any thing like it. A new coil localy is $60.

How to recharge flywheel magnets?
I have an engine that may be weak in the magnets, or else the coil is weak. It will shock you good but it won't jump the gap on any of several plugs I tried. I do have a couple different magnet chargers. The traditional 2 coil style and an industrial discharge style. But I don't know how to charge a 2 magnet flywheel unit. Any body have knowledge of such a thing? Thanks

Conversion info thread, lost it
It has been some time back there was a thread telling of different ways to go about making prop hubs, tapering, threading, patterning etc and more things related to conversions. But I can't locate it/them. Perhaps there was more than one. Any one know where to find it/them? Thanks

85cc Tecumseh, conversion?
I have an 85cc engine from a snow thrower. It is heavy but I think in the end would be lighter than some 2 cylinder engines. The present set up dictates that the straight shaft end with the key way be used. Any ideas? Pictures of the actual engine then what the short block would look like.

RE: Stihl MS250 saw engine
I pulled the engine after running it some and doing a compression test. 170psi after having run it! Yes it pulled hard. That's one reason I believe it has barely been ran. The inside looks as close to new as you can get on an engine that has been run. So now I have to decide weather to convert it or let it go. What would be the propeller side of the crank is short. But that should provide good rigidty I would think. All ready has a pulse hook up for the carb. It weighed in at 2lbs. 10oz. just the way it is pictured with the spark plug. To mount it would need some brackets like the Poulan 42. It uses a boot type carb hook up like a Poulan 46. But this has a small lip around it. I was thinking of an adapter that would fit over it and then an oring for support and sealing next to the engine. Then have 3 spaced set screws around it that would be next to the lip to secure it.
