RE: When did you start into rc?
Minnflyer, that's awesome! I'm started when I was 10 and now in 14. I got into glow power this last Christmas when I received a h9 p-51 pts. My 6th grade science teacher got me interested in rc. His name is Brandon chitty, if you don't know who he is than look him up when you get the chance. Happy flying!

When did you start into rc?
Curiosity go the better of me on this one so have at it. Feel free to answer regardless of what type of rc you do. Btw go ahead and answer for your kids, relatives etc.

RE: Is My Trainer Plane Too fast?
Politely tell your instructor to take a hike. It's hard to learn new things to learn new things. That being said, starting slow then working your way up will always be the best option. My dad recently started flying and he spent at least 3 months on a simulator before he even attempted to fly. The first time he went to the field he buddy boxed with an instructor and, honestly he didn't need the instructor. His takeoff was decent and his landing was perfect. And everything in between was smooth and coordinated. But since it doesnt seem like you've spent much time on a sim you really need to practice slow flying. You gotta have the basics down before you start rippin through the sky.

RE: Too many servo choices. How do I choose?
My philosophy is to steer clear of no name servos. There's just no way to tell if they're gonna fail. My personal favorites are hitec or corona which isn't as well known. I use coronas for micro and mini because they're unusually strong for their size. For standard size I would take hitec any day of the week. One note on hitec; stay away from the hs-55. their price is alluring but the performance and durability is extremely lacking. Hope this helps

old rossi engine
My neighbor gave me a .40 rossi engine a few weeks back and I cleaned it up and noticed there wasnt a place for a pressure line from the muffler to the tank. Do you need the pressure line, and if not, how do you keep the tank from making a vacuum? Also, on the bottom of the muffler there is a screw which i have deemed pointless. does anyone think this could be a place for the pressure line? Any help is appreciated.

RE: first glow kit plane
thanks for all the suggestions guys. I haven't had a chance to look at all of your recommendations yet but i will post what i'm leaning towards. Chuckw, as for flying experience i have flown planes like a big stick, hangar9 pts mustang, and a p-47 from top flite (i got it secondhand). So far they are all still intact and in flying condition.
