RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Hi guys, My Servo ( HPI Sf-10w ) in my HPI E-Firestorm recently got fried. So I am looking upgrading to a better servo. IM am currently running with 2s Zippy LiPos, a Castle SV2 Sidewinder best esc provider in LA ESC and a Castle 1406 Link this word and every other one like it in our forum to YOUR Website! Neu Motor. Does anybody have any recommendations for a better servo? Im thinking of this - http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-sf-50wp-servo-waterproof-12.0kg-cm6.0v-/rc-car-products/363700 ( I know that the price is a lot, but thats the UK for you...) P.S Please use Servos listed on this website as its based in the UK and is easier/quicker for me. 104105 - HPI Sf-10w Servo (waterproof/4.5kg-cm6.0v) 104105 - HPI Sf-10w Servo (waterproof/4.5kg-cm6.0v) Thanks

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
HI Guys, When I last used my Storm ( 3 Months ago :( ) I was having a lot of trouble with it, things were constantly breaking and I ended up soldering a few wires. However, it was running fine for a good few hours when I last used it, but all of a sudden the steering stopped working (Wheels wouldnt turn), and the ESC just started to bleep constantly. Last week I decided to try and fix it, but Im completely mind boggled as to what is wrong. I have a feeling either the Servo or the ESC has packed up. ESC - Castle SV2 Motor- The one that comes with the Sv2 package. ( Cant remember name sorry.) Servo- STOCK. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I have the SV2 in my storm, and it does get very hot, I ended up dropping a pinion, and I only run 2S lipo on all the low settings. The motor gets especially hot and after 15mins of running its too hot to touch. And this is in 50 degrees farenheit, so its not hot weather...

RC for my old man...
Basically my dad has been fooling around with my E-Firestorm, (which has a SV2 Sidewinder and 4600kv motor) and now he has decided he wants a RC for himself. He wants something thats near enough as quick as mine, but doesnt want to spend mega bucks on it. Ideally no more than £250 (about $390), we have found the Losi Speed-T RTR truck, and also the Associated RC10T4.1 RTR, what do you guys think of these two trucks? And also how much quicker/slower would these be against my E-Firestorm? If anyone has any better cars, then please let me know :) Thanks LOSB0101 - Losi Speed-T RTR Truck LOSB0101 - Losi Speed-T RTR Truck AS7037 - Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4GHz (Brushless) AS7037 - Associated RC10T4.1 RTR 2.4GHz (Brushless)

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Hello, I have upgraded the stock motor and esc to a Castle Creations SV2 Sidewinder and 4600kv motor combo. I also have been running two LiPos to give the system sufficient power. It was all working well until friday afternoon when I first used a ZIPPY Flightmax 2s 35c lipo, it worked well for around 20mins, but then the motor came lose and the pinion gear moved and was no longer interlocked with the spur gear. I then set the gearing right, and tightened the motor screws, it lasted for around 2 mins and then the same happened again. I re-did this 2- 3 times. I then went to use it today, and the pinion gear came off, and then the motor moved again, resulting in a stripped spur gear. I suspect that the motor has moved which has led to the damage to the spur gear. Before I order a new spur gear, are you able to offer any advice as to how I can avoid this in future as I dont want to wreck a new spur gear. Could it be that the extra power is causing the motor to move? Many thanks

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
So is it only changing the pinion that effects speed?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
My firestorm has good acceleration with the 4600kv motor, but it is limited at the top end. What gearing would you guys recommend to give it more speed, but not so its running mega hot? Also what type of pinion gear would I need as Ive seen different type like DP etc? Any help would be appreciated

My next hop up...
So far on my E-Firestorm I have bought a Castle SV2 Sidewinder and 4600kv motor, a new body shell, and various other bits and bobs. I was just wondering which would be the best thing for me to upgrade on it next? As I am still a beginner, I kinda just went for the fast motor to start my hop ups... It seems pretty tough, as I had a big crash involving a lamp post (embarrassingly) and luckily only the pinion gear came off, the esc got flung out and a screw mold by the steering servo snapped.

RE: My college project...
Hi again, I have improved the design. It is now height adjustable, and it has also made a perfect a slot for adding a shelf in the gap. Do you think that would be a good idea?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
This is my E-Firestorm, finally got the body painted today. I think it looks pretty sweet :) Ive got a Castle creations SV2 Sidewinder ESC and a 4600kv motor in it as well :) I had a pretty big crash involving a lamppost yesterday, which resulted in the pinion gear coming off, the esc getting flung out and damage to a screw mold by the servo. Which, apart from the mold was an easy fix. Im really quite happy with the firestorm especially its durability. It also copes really well with new motor :)

So what would you put in the middle? I'm not paticularly bothered by dales comments, it just annoyed me how he said 'he tried to be constructive' when he simply said 'it looks like a gutted postal scale'. If you can explain to me how this is constructive please explain to me how it is?

Thank you for the feed back, I personally agree, if I fill the space i dont think it would look as good. Im currently working working on how I could make the stand height adjustable. I will hopefully have come up with an 'improved' design sometime next week.

Look im 16. I've made it for my own use, I've asked for your opinion and okay I get it you don't like it so please stop carping on about how bad you think it is. I started Rc cars in Dec 2011 so im inexperienced you however are a moderator and should know better then to be quite nasty about something that took me about 5 hours to design. Thank you everyone else for there comments. They are appreciated.

RE: My college project...
I forgot to mention. The 'black' bit on the top is made of anti slip neo prene. The top also spins around on a spindle, and the pins will lock it in place, there are 8 holes in the base to choose from. The tool tray has a lip all the way round to stop parts from rolling away, it is also made from rubber. There are 4 rubber feet on the bottom to help stop slipping. And no it is not height adjustable at the mo. Keep your opinions coming in please :) many thanks

My college project...
Hi guys, Im currently desgning a R/C car stand at college, and i was wondering what you guys thought of it? i need to mkae a presentation on it, and include what other people think of it, so if you guys would give me your opinion it would be greatly appreciated. I am only going to use for MY own use, I am NOT going to, nor do I want to sell it. By the way, the 'sticky' out bit is a tool tray made of rubber. And the strip on the back is magnetic to help prevent nuts and screws being lost. Many thanks
