RE: YS DZ 175 advice required
It is undeniable that the electrics have many advantages such as virtually no engine maintenance, less vibration, hence longer servos life, more motor and models options, and others. However, regarding flight time, the IC has a huge advantage. As it has been told here, you can fly up to 18 minutes (glow). Four flights of 18 minutes each gives 72 minutes total, that is equivalent to about ten flights with the electric; it means more batteries, more takeoffs and landings, that is not useful time to practice the maneuvers that really matter. It also appears that the YS develops more torque than any available electric motor today, this, specially in windy days is an advantage that can not be ignored by serious pattern fliers. In spite of it is also undeniable that the trend is electrics, in my particular opinion, glow or electrics, is a difficult decision to take at this time ! Regards Enrique

RE: YS 170 DZ CDI
ORIGINAL: amram Hi I got the 175 modified pump. See the pictures. As you can see it is the entire assembly including the push road housing which is part of the modifications. I cannot add a scholar explanations like others but just god-feeling I had from day one that the push road housing is part of the problem. Also interesting to see that the regulator diaphragm is made of different material and more important its limiter is now a separate part and its all made of hard plastic.. I will test it in next few days. Temperature here about 35C (95F) in the shade so we shell see! Regards Amram THANK YOU YAMADA SAN FOR A GREAT SUPPORT!!!!!
Hello amram. What's new regarding your 175 pump on YS 170 CDI. Any report ?. Regards Enrique

RE: OS 33GT Gasoline Engine for Pattern
Hello Timble, Take care regarding Mintor Products. I own a Mintor 170 that never worked. The manufacturer (Mintor srl, Italy) is a total irresponsible company. I purchased the engine directly from them with two headers (different rise) and pipe, spent around $ 1200, including shipping and import taxes. I sent the engine back to them for repair. Accordingly to the Italian post service, they should have picked up the engine and pay some duties, they never did that and the engine was sent back to my country without repair, I had to pay all the shipping charges. They had to discontinue the 170 model due to bad quality. These people (Mintor) are used to manufacture garbage products and give no support, no warranty no responsibility, no nothing. They are liars and cheaters because they deny everything that happened. Enrique

RE: electric practice plane
You have a point and I do agree with you. However, it is not always possible to use your competition plane for practice due to time or space constraints. In which case it is better to fly a practice plane than not to fly at all. Just my 2 cents worth.....
" .... it is better to fly a practice plane than not to fly at all . YS 170 CDI on low nitro
Hi all, Accordingly to the DZ170CDI Operator's manual, this engine could be used with less than 30% nitromethane. The manual states textually: " Use a good quality alcohol based model engine fuel containing 0% to 25% nitro, and oil content 5% to 25% ............" Is anyone using this engine on low nitro, say 10-15 % ? . If so, How does it perform regarding reliability and power ? . Of course, I don't expect the engine to have the same power on 15 % nitro, but, does it do the job, I mean P-11 (P-13) F3A schedule ? Thanks in advance for your inputs ! Enrique
ORIGINAL: d_bodary Now do the finals start with all ten fliers at zero or are some of there semi final scores included?
