RE: Magnum .52 4S great news
They are good about giving you a whole new engine if necessary, too. Ernie

RE: New AVIASTAR 46 thread
Nearly all manufacturers carbs are drop-in fits to others. Luckily, they copy the origional OS dimemsions it appears. This goes for the larger size engines as well. Ernie

RE: New OS 25AX
Thanks for the nice article and photos David! Those older SF engines are the best. I've had 2 of the .46's, both ringed. Ernie

RE: O.S 1.20AX Owners. Post your tach readings
Hi Erik and Flygilmore! Did you guys have to grind out the front of your cans and JB Weld in a short piece of aluminum tubing? Or did you find a type of can that already had threads or an opening that slips real tight over the mac's header pipe? I see Erik's is a beer can but I can't tell what kind of top it had on it. Thanks, Ernie

RE: New AVIASTAR 46 thread
Has anyone put an OS carb on their .46's? My Magnum .46 runs great with an OS carb, older style, not rear mounted or swept back needle. Ernie

RE: Tank foaming
Put a fuel filter in the line right before the engine somewhere. That helps to absorb any bubbles that do make it that far. Ernie

RE: 47
I used a hex-head steel bolt for joining the wings and found that a ball driver will angle it's way in there and tighten that bolt easily. Ernie

RE: Magnum 91 two stroke power possibilities
That MCP setup might be a bit lighter though, even lighter than the Tower muffler. It tends to get the CG back some too, if that is needed. Ernie

RE: New AVIASTAR 46 thread
Hopefully more break in on the engine with extra pinch will do the trick. Ideally you would put in on a test stand and run that baby WOT for a few tankfuls, not 4-cycling, but in a slightly rich 2-cycle adjustment. Running it slow or cool with that excess pinch is asking to actually wear it out. Keep us posted, Ernie

RE: K&B 61 What do I have here?
Has anyone here on this forum had their K&B .61 ported by Clarence Lee? In his add he states that your engine must be nearly new. Of these 2 used ones I have here, I would probably have to buy a new piston, ring, and liner if Mecoa has them I am thinking? Thanks, Ernie

RE: New design Saito 82
Personally I was hoping Saito would come up with something like what OS has done to eliminate the messy crankcase breather tube. My .82 runs flawlessly though. Ernie

RE: New OS 25AX
With multi engine models it might be a safety backup system to insure that none of the engines will dead stick when chopping the throttle. Of course there would have to be a very fine mechanical tuning of the linkages to avoid servo binding. Ernie

Thanks for the head's up about the digital servos and AAA packs. What would I notice happening if I used 2 digital servos, one on rudder and one on elevator on my 40 size profile plane and stayed with the 750mah AAA pack? Thanks, Ernie

RE: Picture of my 47
The torque comes on smooth with the 4-stroke, not a problem and if you want to do torque rolls it just hangs there perfect with the 14" props. I think that's an advantage compared to the 13" prop I run on my OS 55AX. As I recall I was getting 10,000 rpms with the APC 14x4W prop and 200 more with the MA 14x6 Scimitar prop. They pull almost exactly the same though. Ernie
