RE: Testing the new NV (Norvel) .40 size (6.5cc) gasoline glow engine
ORIGINAL: qazimoto
ORIGINAL: Ernie Misner Just curious, why are synthetics not to be used? Very high tempertures going on here, or? Thanks!
You need oil that will mix with petrol (gasoline). The ''enhanced'' Castor based oils work best. [:D]
Are there not many high quality synthetics that mix with gaoline and run in all the other gassers

RE: O.S. GF40 4st gas
How would you say the power to weight ratio is compared to a similarly powerful 2-stroke?

RE: OS 1.20AX Unexplained Flameouts.......>>>
Hi Fred, even if you do get the 4-stroke for it, you might keep your eyes open for an old carb off of any .91, OS or whatever for that engine. They usually all have the same mounting specs. I had a SuperTigre 90 (same mount size here too) that ran great with a carb from an old Tower 75 engine. Good luck. Ernie Misner

RE: OS 1.20AX Unexplained Flameouts.......>>>
If the 1.08 carb has a larger ventui, you would be even more likely to need a pump. Why not stick with the stock size carb. Ernie

RE: Aeroworks profile
So the stock aluminum gear is okay huh John? Has it bent any on you yet? I still have my large size ProX and was curious. How much did the Mintor set you back all together? Thanks, Ernie

simply braze in a tiny steel tube and be good to go. You will get this solved. Ernie Misner

RE: OS 1.20AX Unexplained Flameouts.......>>>
Hi Fred, does it run okay on the ground or on the bench? If it quits doing aerobatics or when you hold the nose up or down a pump might be the ticket. Keep us posted, Ernie Misner

I wondered about the rough interior of that flex pipe. It does seem like with the correct tuning a can has the potential to be superior huh.

Another nice picture Jerry. Awesome hovering in that rugged country. The mintor should be a fun choice. They shure have nice machine work. Made in the USA maybe?

RE: Aeroworks profile
Take a look at that life battery I mentioned for future planes. The servos are snappier on 6V also. The life battery is only 2.5 oz., probably half of what your AA weigh. Ernie Misner

RE: Aeroworks profile
Maybe a cow but it will probably last several lifetimes. Why not just put something light on there and move the engine forward. That's what I did with my YS 70 that weighs less than an OS 46ax. Ernie Misner

RE: Aeroworks profile
You could try putting some helium in the wing panels.....:) Just kidding but I know it must be heavy with the (very nice) 75 on there. The 75 weighs the same or a hair more than the 95AX and the Saito 125 is lighter than both of them. Isn't that wild?

So you finally got it goin' John. Far out man! Hey it looks really nice with that Mintor on it too. I though you'd have fun with it. You must have got that wing problem solved huh? My 60 size has the lightest engine in the world on it and it's still kinda heavy but fun. Ernie Misner
