RE: 1/16 Pz IV J project
ORIGINAL: 1sgt Looks to me like a German Helmet with wire to hold cammo on. Jim
The wire is too thick. Looks unnatural and not scale. Other things are great! Keep posting your fantastic work!

RE: A True White Elefant.
A white elephant is an idiom for a valuable but burdensome possession of which its owner cannot dispose and whose cost (particularly cost of upkeep) is out of proportion to its usefulness or worth. The term derives from the story that the kings of Siam (now Thailand) were accustomed to make a present of one of these animals to courtiers who had rendered themselves obnoxious, in order to ruin the recipient by the cost of its maintenance. In modern usage, it is an object, scheme, business venture, facility, etc., considered to be without use or value. [:D][:D][:D]

RE: Tamiya Tiger Build Advice
ORIGINAL: ausf The first version of my Tamiya Tiger I was with the full Aber photo etched kit. I drove that thing through bushes, buildings, everything with no real issues. I since converted it to an initial, with countless IR battles and the only issue was a thrice decapitated commander, once by tree, once by building, the last by surrender... Any tyrant is better than chaos. A tyrant is more predictable, stable, easy to deal with. What will you get instead? A bunch of uncontrollable islamists? What will they plan when they have got the power? Smashing some other american skyscrapers?

Hi Jerry, I hope our bad experience with Asiatam Elefant will not repeat in this case. I am waiting for your very detailed review of this kit. I can sing under every word of yours about RCtank.de and Dom. Excellent service! Best regards, Eugene

RE: Dortmund 2012
I will not buy it this time! Note the difference between what you see on the pics and what you really can get from Asiatam. I have their Elefant and will not buy any of their models untill I hear good feedback from the buyers.

RE: Tiger 1:1 Replica
ORIGINAL: HAL_HUSKER Yeah, it will be a very good movie... at least done by one od the best producers here... Battle scenes were shot at famous Kubinka tank-battle-test field...
1) Not in Kubinka proving ground I'm afraid. 2) As one could notice, probably the replica appears only once in the trailer (0:20). The other shots (0:30 and 1:14) are of quite a different tank disguised as a Tiger. I am disappointed. [:o] A small UPD: Due to the words of replica's maker, it was not shot in this movie. JS-2 was disguised as a Tiger.

RE: How to get fecked for your own money!
Hi Jerry, No ball mount and MG, of course. I think they are missing on their model. Will have to make them myself. Also, the antenna base is present on their manual but looks like it is missing. Easy to fix - just buy one. On the pics of their Elefant the antenna base is missing as well.
