RE: RE:
i put the vx.18 in my lightning and dang if it isn't a land rocket. i smoked off the tires in one session. so the .21 would just be stupid in the Lightning if you ask me. go for the vx.18 and get the tuned pipe with the round header (ie, the not stock ones). the car runs alot better with those on it

RE: RedCat Engine program
so if some kind of proof that i own a redcat is all you need, would a picture of me holding the car suffice? i do not have the original body that it came with as i bought the car used from a friend who bought it used from another friend who bought them from redcat.

RE: Redcat Volcano parts in Canada?
don't leave Seb. i appreciate your service. i am quite happy that there is someone in Canada that deals with Redcat. it will save me tons of money on shipping and border fees. that way i can spend more money on parts :P

RE: vx 18 troubles
the gap will widen when you turn the screw clockwise. when you turn the screw counter-clockwise the gap will close but only so far. if you turn it after the gap stops moving the screw will fall out.

RE: vx 18 troubles
i just put a VX .18 in my lightning, and i have been having the same problem. it'll run fine for awhile, then when the car comes to a stop, it'll bog down and won't run properly. seems like it sticks in 2nd gear and won't power out. i haven't tried to lean out the LSN yet, but i'll try once the rain stops, and post my results. another thing to check for is the carb nut, and the exhaust manifold gasket. check for leaks

RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Lighting VX Thread
hey guys, just wanted to get my face in here. i purchased a used Lightning from a buddy of mine and have used it a couple times since. i did a major tear-down and clean up a couple weeks ago and found a few bent/broken parts which i have replaced. the only thing i didn't replace is the rear center driveshaft (from tranny to rear diff) cause i didn't know it was bent until i put everything back together. i also noticed it was shorter than the rest of the drive shafts. it wouldn't sit in the diff cup very well and i feared it would jump out and break other things along the way. i exchanged it with a front drive axle (thinking it would be longer) but they are all the same length. does anyone else have this problem? to fix it temporarily i adjusted the diff cup towards the tranny so the driveshaft wouldn't jump out atleast. thanks

RE: Redcat Volcano parts in Canada?
I have recently been in contact with Sebastien about some parts i was going to order right from redcat, but i won't use the Redcat in the states and they only ship UPS to Canada, so they gave my email address to Sebastien and he contacted me right away. so far so good. i hope this will be the beginning of a beautiful business relationship. i would rather order from a Canadian source anyday, even if it does cost more, its still cheaper

RE: Glow Plug
ORIGINAL: KILLROY What motor do you have? If it is the 3.3 use the 3232x traxxas plug. MC59 for anything else.
+1 for 3232x or find a hot plug. the MC59's are junk for the 3.3's. i used to go through one per tank

New face at RCU
Whats shaking boys and girls. I live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. i am an avid R/C nut. i have always had an R/C of some kind. had my first at an early age. only in the last year i've geared up and dove into the Nitro scene, followed by the Rock Crawling scene. soon i'll be into the Drift scene. I work as an Engineer with the Coast Guard so i've always got some spare time during my off-cycle to run my R/C's. my garage looks like this: (see pic from left to right) Traxxas Revo 3.3 Axial AX-10 Scorpion ARTR Radio Shack Black Phantom Traxxas Nitro Rustler 2.5 Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5 Kyosho Racing Pajero (not pictured) i will soon expand my collection to include a Nitro powered on-road touring car and 1 or 2 electric on-road drift cars
