Trx 2.5 running like crap
Ok guys let me explain the whole story here..... My trx 3.3 has a chip side on the piston so it wont run start or anything so i have to replace it so till then i decide to bring out my spare 2.5 engine. I have less thank 12 tanks ran throught. Ok so since i dont know if it really matters what exhaust i have on it. But i bought a traxxas 3.3 exhaust for my 3.3 a while back so i put that on the 2.5. Could of that make a difference. But now going to what it is doing..... The only way it idles is unless i have it idling high. Also after like 5 minutes of driving it or so it shuts off. Now just to remind you this is a fairly new engine i mean like this thing hasnt even had a half a gallon ran through it... This thing is so hard to tune. My 3.3 is the easiest thing in the world to tune.

Yeah my maxx is 5 years old and mines tweaked in and the only thing that ever needs to be replaced is bearings and clutch shoes..... and glow plugs

Adding 2 stroke engine oil to nitro
Ok so im forced to buy this VP gas and it runs way too hot when i can never get it to run perfect temp... i have done 1/16 adjustments to the high speed needle till it was fully open and then 1/16 adjustment till fully closed and i cant find the right adjustment.... I think it doesnt have enough oil so can i just add like a drop or two of 2 stroke to the tank and see if that works? Also all of the local hobby shops dont have regular traxxas top fuel 20 % they all sell cheaper crap.. Im forced to this also one hobby shop sells 20 fuel that has tomuch oil and has hard starting and a crappy fuel economy and is very hard to tune with and then the other hobby shop has this fuel with not enough oil and has tunes nicely but it makes my engine run above reg running temp.... I read 380 degrees with out even driving it hard.... What should i do?

Soooo im sick of paying 32 bucks a gallon for nitro and ive seen 2 stroke unleaded rc engines before but i dont know if there is a conversion kit for a tmaxx... Like a engine, engine mount, extra modifications and stuff

Well i have the same issue..... But i know whats going on..... I bought a different fuel (not traxxas brand) but the dude said it was 20% nitro but had more oil so i figure leaning it will work but ever since i bought that gas bad things have been happing... Sucky tuning.... My piston chip on the side -_-...... And massive gas usage.... But yeah just make sure there is no air leaks. Use zip ties were the gas line connects to the nipple on the carb and were it comes from the gas tank. Make sure all the o ring are where they are suppose to be.. Make sure the carb is all the way sitted on to the crank case. make sure the big heat sink head ( i figure what i called) screws are tight and when you take off the heat sink you make surethe copper gasket is not too smashed and will create a good seal..

Remote start on Tmaxx My Project
Ok so me and my buddy kept getting pissed off when my tmaxx would not idle or was not tune right and we were tuning it So he said dude man you need to figure out a way to set up a way so we dont have to run over and get that damn thing or have to bend down to start it... that was bout a week ago..... Today i finally had time to put this into action.... Today i have official made a remote starter i think it would be called.... I got rid of the reverse in my tmaxx like a year ago and So i have a extra switch.... To use.... So i put the forward and reverse servo back in and used the starter wond or what ever it is a rewired it onto my tmaxx.... I will show pictures of it and it working so i must get it to glow the glow plug again since it stop working...... I dont know why i have no idea what happen but i'll figure a way.... But i will update this topic as i go along if you guys have some advice on this, I will be greatly appreciate your advice - Thanks, Brett..

hmm sounds like you stripped a gear in your transmission most likely you over tightened your slipper clutch and now you might want to tear apart your transy and find which gear it is

Just Doesnt want to run

Ez start One way Bearing locking up HELP
So im on the 5th tank and all of the sudden it just quits and im like ok it normal when in the break in process so i went up to start it the piston was no cycling and so i tore it apart and the one way bearing was like stuck to the starter shaft and so i had to hammer the thing out after a hour of trying different things so i then clean the OWB and the shaft and put it back together so now i tried to continue with the break in and it lasted about 5 minutes maybe less and now i dont know if i should get a new one or should i take some Wd-40 to it and see if i can lube up the bearing inside.... I really dont feel like spending 22.50 on a little piece of metal

Hmmm first of all on the second tank your suppose to have the body on and also i have found out that the ignitors are alot better than the ez start from experience...the ez start is only good for the cranking over the piston.... The blue wire fails all the time... your pretty much asking the ez start to do two things at once...one to crank over the piston and glow the glow plug.... which after awhile the it just stop glowing the glow plug... The hand held ignitor is on it own system so all you got to worry bout is it battery,... you want to get one that allows you to access the battery once your battery gets shot... the once that dont allow you to access the battery i would stay away from... Well its your choice... Hmm spend 15 on a new ignitor or pay 5 for a new battery i think i would choose the 5 ^-^... But yeah that what i use and i fight it the best thing in the world... Besides the need to lug around another item when bashing....

I think it means one way bearing.... i might be wrong but... i never had that problem before.... the only problem i ever had with the transmission was with the primary gear which kept getting torn apart which i found out later on what the problem was.... hmmm but have you check all of the gears teeth to make sure that none of them are missing or grinded down... maybe you should take the time and tear apart your transy and look at whats broken before you got out and buy parts for your tmaxx.....

hmm ok i try that but do you want me to do it right before i do the break in..... I really dont feel like waiting another 3 to 4 days for another piston and sleeve lol.... But continuing is this normal or do i just have a piston and sleeve that is supertight.... I must have the virgin of all virgin piston and sleeve..... Also ive notice when i do get it to turn with my hands it clicks once it hits the top of the sleeve....

Tmaxx 3.3 just got new Sleeve and piston
So i put a new piston and sleeve into my 3.3 and ive had some trouble with it..... When i press on the ez start it just wont cycle.... I havent done the break in yet and i just wanna make sure i can turn the piston but it wont... Any ideas why?

Well if you buy a Harden steel spur gear i would also buy a harden steel clutch bell because if the meshing isnt right well say good bye to that clutchbell. You can find a harden steel spur and clutchbell on this website http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/revo33.html But they dont sell them there you have to go through towerhobbies or any of the 5 that the website gives you. Im pretty much going to tell you the same thing like everyone else has on here. Try putting it back to factory settings 4 full turns out on the High Speed and Flush the inside ring for the low speed. If that dont work well.... I had the same problem but it was after i tuned it... But continuing i would start over with the run in if i were you.... Good luck
