For $98.00 seems like a pretty good deal. I'm just afraid it might be a little underpowered with a .25la...don't know.

GreatPlanes P-40 ARF .25/EP, What The...?
O.k. guys, I've searched high and low on these forums and can't find anything on this bird. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSRP9&P=7]Great Planes P-40[/link] I have a .25la laying around to go in something like this. Yep, I'll probably buy it, but wondering if anyone has flown one or has a next door neighbor with a 4th cousin once removed who has a 4th wife's brother who flies it. Any thoughts? Keep rockin' people.

RE: So what is the verdict for the tower hobbies 75?
For you guys that own the Tower .75, how much more power do you have than the OS .61? I just picked up Hanger 9's new blue nose P-51 and have a well broken in OS .61 laying around that has never missed a beat. I'm leaning toward the .61, but I'd say it'll only pull the P-51 around at scale speed...."not that there's anything wrong with that." Just considering my options. Even thinking of going with a small gasser. Thanks in advance.

RE: finishing techniques
I built an electric Ryan Rear Bear a while back and glassed it with 1/2oz fiberglass on the fuse and tail feathers and 3/4 oz cloth on the bottom. AUW came out to 15oz using Z-Poxy. The method I used was from J. Martin on rcgroups. If you thin down the z-poxy with denatured alcohol and take up the excess resin you should come out pretty light after priming and painting. We clocked the Bear at 95mph.

RE: Spoiler/Big Boy family and friends
Take your time, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait! I called a couple times, once to order and again to ask about equipment, and the customer service was outstanding. Keep doing what you're doing.
ORIGINAL: Tweek Kyle, You sure seem to have a lot for say for someone who isn't on the waiting list. We have just now got the import issues resolves with a new customs broker and have things moving. We have way more people on the waiting list than the size of the first production run, so don't worry about us being stuck with these models. We've learned a lot about importing from China in this project, and nothing is a simple as it seems on the surface. As for Jerry not flying a Spoiler, that's the norm for Jerry. Every model he's ever sold the rights to someone else for, he's quickly invented something else and moved on. The Big Boy and the Outlaw are good examples. I knew both parties who bought the rights to those models and this is nothing different. We're the people who bought the rights to the Spoiler and have dumped a load of $$ into them, and are well aware of how badly folks on the list want them (us too!). They're coming asap...if any of you are on the waiting list and want off, drop me a note to dave @ eastrc . org and I'll remove you. Otherwise, arguing about how slow we are for reasons few of you know does nothing for the project. Dave
RE: Getting close to finishing, Two more questions
ORIGINAL: Scratchie I'm building my first RC plane (BUSA Smoothie) and am nearly finished. Before I cover it I decided to check out a few things, the first being how the wing mounts to the fuselage. The kit has two nylon bolts going through the TE into a 1/4'' hardwood peice. I used thin CA to strengthen the threads, but I'm wondering about using some type of blind nut. Additonally, the head of the bolts dig into the TE a little bit when tightening, should I use a metal washer to prevent this?
Would appreciate it if you could post some pics. I'm thinking about building this plane...it's absolutely beautiful!! Did you run into any problems or have to make any modifications? Thanks.

RE: Perry GA show
ORIGINAL: ablaker2 ..lookin forward to see'n all of you folks at the show this year (2009) The tables were sold out in December and the waiting list is longer then it ever has been. That tells me that this might just be the biggest show yet. I have not missed a single show since it started. That was a long time ago and I am glad to see it has grown. The reporter that took the pics for the mag, had it right..this show is the heart of model airplanes. When I was living in Florida, I was trying to convince a friend of mine that owned a hobby shop that he needed to see this show..his reply was that when you've seen one you've have seen them all, with Toledo being the biggest..However he finally came to visit the show and I was sitting next to the door when he came in..his first words were "OH MY GOD" That that was only one building and there were two more to see. Clearly we are still growing and that says a lot about our hobby. Some of the best folks on earth fly model airplanes... Cheers ole Blake Show dates March 6 and 7
Blake, Was the article on the show in a recent AMA magazine? I'm heading down this year for the first time. Toledo Weak Signals 2009
Hi Folks, I'm making plans to head up to Toledo this year to the show....for the 1st time. Have a couple questions for those that have been. I understand that the show is held in the Seagate Center. Is there a hotel on the premises? And if not, can you recommend a nice place to stay? Thanks for any info. P.S. I realize there are numerous hotels listed on their site, but just wondering about your firsthand experience.
