RE: Foam wing help
If you want this aircraft to perform, the wing must be 100% accurate. I suggest that you contact the BEST and MOST EXPERIENCED foam wing cutter on the planet- BOB HUNT ! Bob's Ukie Stunt resume is extensive (also was an excellent Pattern flyer awhile back). Former editor of Flying Models and Model Aviation Mags. Reach him @ Robin's View Productions( 610-746-0106). His shop is an easy interstate drive from NYC- about 1 1/2 drive in Stockertown, Pa. Tell him I sent you.

RE: airtronics SD 10 G -jumpy servos.
I also have the same combo ( except the more robust JR 8611 Digital servos) in my 35% Carden Cap and fortunately, no jitters -even in low power mode. Perhaps it's because of the " premium" JR Digitals ? I had read that the Airtronics Digitals are quite good, but never tried them. I paused ; thinking that the cheap price, even less than some "sport" digitals, might mean lower quality. No knock against them because several guys I know are using them with great results.

RE: field charging lipos
Recently picked up a Wal-Mart 122 AMP Deep Cycle Marine Battery $81 w/ core credit, $9 more without . Made by Johnson Controls- a well respected company) and the plastic tub( $8) . They even put it in the vehicle and told me it's store policy not to accept a tip( which I offered). Have it behind my seat on the floor of my Odyssey and don't plan to move it as it is damn heavy- Johnson Controls sez 61 lbs. - it feels heavier. So far, so good. I use a TP 820CD . I've charged two 10S bricks(5300 5S Gens Ace) , one brick at a time @ 2 AMP; once home and in the garage , attach my "Battery Tender" . After roughly 14-16 hrs., the charge was complete for that amount of usage. I also fly e-UKIE Stunt and have charged four individual 5S 3300 Gens Ace @ 1AMP. Haven't measured the limit of the battery just yet because after 4 flights in this heat, I wanna go for ice cream , a cold drink or just get home. Down the road, I hope to wire it to my vehicle's altenator.

It might come down to that- but someone must have a couple of these in their shop just collecting dust. The mold won't be much of a project if I have to make 'em.

RE: CARBON VEIL COVERING AND RADIO INTERFERENCE
Thanks for the many opinions. My plan is to use .02 vail on wings, stab, elevator and rudder , only. Many composite molded fuses employ carbon fiber weave strips along seams , several one inch internal ring bands around the fuse for rigidity, sheet / laminate firewalls, gear plates of several variations( sandwich end grain balsa, weave on ply, etc.) for the servo & battery tray . I don't feel that fuses of that type will have an issue and I believe that actual use history has proven that so. If I get up the ambition, I'd like to remove the film from the flying surfaces of my old ride( Brio). Sand, dope , vail cover ( no final finish) and fly it with the 2.4 Airtronics RX wire outside the fuse ( probably unnecessary, but for good measure) and see what happens. The ship has served me well for 5 years and if it's lost due to interference, that won't be too devastating. Because I just converted it from IC to electric, I'm planning to get some trim and reacquaintance flights on it beforehand.

CARBON VEIL COVERING AND RADIO INTERFERENCE
For the BUILDERS out there, a question : From what I've been told . carbon veil covering on wings and tail feathers can cause radio interference. I'm wondering if anyone out there was either brave/dumb enough or smart enough, depending upon which way you look at it, to give it a try and the results. I recently covered my new E- Powered U/C Stunter with .02 Carbon Veil and found it to be easy to apply with dope , lightweight and super strong. I detest the current crop of film coverings, all of them, as they wrinkle in the sun and are a maintenance issue. The old stuff was way superior. Spraying the entire ship like we did back in the day may seem old school to some, but with this material, aircraft weight can be further reduced by virtue of the fact that using it allows for the use of lighter foam wings , stabs , elevators and rudder. Using silkspan is an option;albeit structurally weaker and more difficult to apply.

SD-10G Issue With TX Battery Voltage
The LCD Display overview on my radio shows a fluctuating voltage read. Never happened in the past as far as I recall. Specifically, after a proper fresh charge, the LCD display reads 8.1v and a second later, reads 7.2 v and then it bounces up to 8.1v or 7.6v or 7.4v. After two -three flights, it dips lower which is to be expected, but fluctuates as before to levels I'm uncomfortable with. Then I stop flying. At first, I thought it was the original battery, so I changed it to a low time 6 cell 2000mAh Eneloop . Same voltage irregularities. The radio went back to Airtronics late last year for the recall/upgrade of the circuit board.

RE: Well, It Had To Happen-
Economics rule. The cost of glow fuel, IMO, has been the single biggest deterent- not just for pattern , but all forms of model aviation including u/c , free flight and helicopter - to say nothing about R/C cars & boats. The "toy" market is all electric. No more inexpensive Wen-Mac and Cox glow toys for Xmas and birthdays.( I loved them 50 years ago and still do today- just try to buy them on eBay- bid wars ! ) The noise, clean up mess & other factors are secondary issues.

RE: Radio South PPG Concept Urethane Clear
Butyrate dope gases off for a long time- months and months. So, putting Concept over it unless it is very well- aged isn't prudent. Potential for cracking and/or crow's feet. Over Nitrate, no problem. PPG Concept Clear is wicked stuff for your lungs- a booth or outside air supply mask system highly recommended. It adds quite a bit of weight , too. It'll darken whatever color that it is shot over, but doesn't yellow. Good Luck
