RE: How to balance the turbine?
The benefit of balancing the turbine in-situ cannot be ignored. It is a very good method of balancing the rotors without having to dismantled the rotos for later re-assembly. Fabionet's link to the youtube video makes a lot of sense. This does not mean that other methods are less efficient or do not achieve the desired results... far from it! Reuben

RE: How to balance the turbine?
Johnny, thats an option. It may prove to be a practical solution but if one wanted to go the electronic way...to modeller's pocket size I mean.... then i wonder whether there are any proper rotor balancers around to suit our needs. I am sure that one can get a a good professional balancer at a premium price but does there exist a decently priced rotor balancers out there? Reuben

RE: F-16 new Scheme
I think you are mistaken... that F-16 (red/orange/black scheme) belongs to the Dutch Air Force. http://www.f16demoteam.nl/ Sorry guys but the Dutch flag (RED/WHITE/BLUE) does not have the same colors as the German flag (BLACK/RED/YELLOW). The only thing in common is that the colors are both in horizontal style. Reuben

RE: FEJ's NEW F86
I understand that the F-86 Sabre jet's airbrakes are angled when they open. From the photos it seems that they open straight. If that is so I am sure that FEJ will be able to rectify this without any problems. Also I think that the struts need a bit of shortening too as has been pointed out. Plane looks too clean and maybe some warning markers may come in handy to give it more character. Nice plane though! Reuben

RE: R/C JET PLANS
Frankie, Check the RCJETS section. I believe that the Ziroli F9F Grumman Panther is one which you may wish to consider. The plane was originally built for ducted fan use but many people have flown it succesfully with a turbine. Regards Reuben

RE: JetCat P70 Strip
I think the problem with turbine stripping is: 1. how to position the bearings in the correct manner so that they will not come out 2. balance the rotors properly (preferably assembled). I have not, as yet, seen any available good home balancer for the do-it-yourself type of person. Reuben

RE: Shorts skyvan
Anybody doing this plane? I remember that in one of the old British Magazine, namely Radio Modeller (now defunct), there was a review of a 93" Skyvan from a kit (could it have been a Cambria kit?) and apparently it had a nice flight. Surely not the most beautiful plane but it is one that I like too....as someone said.... "beauty is in the eye of the beholder!" At one time I had made some tracing on Coreldraw of a set of drawings of the Skyvan. Any more info? Reuben
