I have a new problem with my SU-26. The elevator goes from little to no motion. I flew it put a new battery in and it quit. I opened it up and found the red wire was detached. Soldered it back on still no elevator. I then replaced the servo, still no elevator. And I am having problems with my mcx. The MSR an Mustang are fine so I am not totally without planes. Fern

I am testing out the lvc. It seems very high for my planes. 1 cell batteries can draw down to 3.0v safely. 3.2V per cell is the bottom end for multi cell lipos. OK, that said, I will be making up a battery matrix, maybe. Fern

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone
Alas, I broke the prop shaft, and of course the lhs does not have any. This means that I have to open up the plane. Iand that means that I will do a water break in, probably tonight. It has been referred to as a Break in procedure, but it can help long after the first few flights. I did a water break in on a set of aeroace motors long after I had flown them the first time. The result was far more powerful motors. I have maybe 2 hours on this motor, most of it in 5 minute chunks. That is what I have my flight timers set to. I do not think that I have actually broken in this motor. These motors are not purpose designed for this application, usually, they are taking a motor design that exists already and giving it a new use. Fern

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
Dude, do you want to fly in your yard? That is an entirely new dimension. I know you know this, but think about it again. A heli can fly in its own diameter/space. By definition an airplane can't do that. An air plane must move to stay alive, therefore the area in which the plane is supposed to fly in is critical.

Raylon, a serious 3d plane is not a bad idea, but it is built to do odd things. I would say get a P51 or the J-3 cub. Is this is your first plank? I am still trying to learn to fly a T-Rex 450. I may give it up as bad news, buy an msr and be done with it. Fern

RE: Ultra-Micro P-51 BNF by ParkZone
Wow I just did 4 batteries through the P51d micro. That is the is first plane flying since Saturday. I do not think I am exaggerating when I say that this is simply a great plane. I think it's displeasure with being inverted is it's only "problem". I will accept diving rolls and not being able fly inverted for the overall flyability of this plane. I need to find out the range of the RX, because I had it out of sound both high and far on different occasions. I can often hear the passenger jets at altitude, it is that quiet here so out of hearing is a bit far. I did try a focused power dive gun run. I came down at 50-45* for about 70' and pulled out with no problems. Fern

9 sec, I have the Mustang and the su 26 and a couple of cessnas. Micros are where I learned to fly. And Yes I have the micro 4-site on order.. I think I have the SU 26 squared away, again. The Mustang is simply a blast. Reglue the main gear mounts and you have solved th biggest issue. You can rog slow or fast. The only issue I have had is that an outsdide loop is not doable. I am told that inverted flight is also a bad Idea. Now for the Heli. A broken bit of linkage has been replaced and I guess it is going to be Raads time. Fern

Fern OK I did find a new end cap for the servo and am about to repair the popped off linkage on the tail rotor end. I found that the lhs left the expo at 100%, so I brought that down some. I am still pondering pulling the 72 mghz gear out of the Heli and going dsm2. I am curious to your thoughts on this. Fern

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
I am sitting here about to do a quick fix on a T-Rex 450 after flying a couple of great PZ planes on a DX7 and flew the heli on an Eclipse 7, which is by secondary 72mghz tx. All of this grew from a desire to fly rc, and a seemingly simple foam bipe. There are just a relative few products that can jump start an existing paradigm. It is my belief that the AeroAce and those that moved forward for more channels created enough of a demand that Horizon Hobbies now has 3 micro helis, one of which is not a co -axial platform, and no less than 9 known micro planes, most of which are in dsm2. I just want to thank all of you. I posted a flight report earlier that said "the Micro Revolution is here", it is and it seems that Horizon Hobbies is doing the catering. And the folks that got the ball rolling were the folks of this thread, so once again thanks to each and every one of you. OK, I have a heli to fix. Did I mention that this is my first big heli experience? Tim/Fern

RE: Wheeeeeeee.......... Blade CP!
Well, The game is afoot, it is on now, every journey starts with a step, etc. I took the T-Rex out, put it on it's new helipad(It will get bigger) and set out to test it out. It works!! I popped the end cap off a 5g servo, but I think I have a dead one around so I will simply swap out the end cap. It tried really hard to hover, but I set up all kinds of issues. It boils down to I wasn't sure if the remote LHS did anything or not. They did. So while flying micros on the dx7 I will be training with the T-Rex on the Eclipse 7. And after all the grief I have heaped on it lately, it felt really nice in my hands. Ergonomics is a squirrelly thing, but I have done a bunch of flying with this radio. I have to check out Radd's heli school and all that good stuff, but it is now a working concern I hope to have many rationale questions for you guys. A not so rationale question is whether any of you have found the pure flying joy that is the Micro P51? Right, pics, I'll try to add them later, rcu is not answering the hello. The pics are at the any airplane thread on that other service Fern

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone
Micro flight report. The micro revolution is here!! OK I took the Mustang and the Sukhoi to the Elementary school. Room to really let loose. First up was the Sukhoi with the 5030 prop. The ptch change made a huge difference. The plane was dramatically slower. Which was actually part of the goal. The first toss was a bit rough, but I had it figured out on the second toss, and I was in business. It was a touch tail heavy but a couple of clicks solved that. It was Unique nimble but not as fast. and it did everything I wanted it to. Nice clean rolls half loops to roll out at the top, whatever. By the third battery, the last in that plane I was doing chicken runs at myself at and below head height. Once you get this plane sorted out it is an absolute blast, but it does take some time. Then came the Mustang, that line was used in a documentary on disc channel about the bomber raids in Europe. It also applies here. I have yet to find a flaw in the flight of this plane. I have suffered 2 glue based issues, The lg came off on a hard landing in grass. They have been reglued, the mains are removable as are the Sukhois. And just flying along at about 75' the spinner came off. I have not been able to find it. Taking the Mustang to the elem school is like taking a real plane to the races, you have to go fast and hard. Wide open the little gear box has a marvelous roar, the plane lifts off as wild or mild as you would like. Given its under cambered wing and low wing design the rolls are not super clean, and I have not been able to complete an outside loop yet. I have not flown it inverted, and I do not know why not. Anyway I ran 3 batteries through it and just had a blast Fern

Jim I hope and pray that your friend heals up nicely. Howdy guys. I guess it is about to be serious Heli time at my house. That or I build Doll Houses or something. Here is the state of my gear, DX7 tx, as well as Hitec tx's, a lonely AR7000 and the T-Rex 450 XL, yeah it is that old, grey plastic mechanical rotor head. I have a decent helipad and will probably increase it to 6' x 6' next week. Right now I am flying the boo yah of of the MCX. I have decided that I have to hover the T-Rex at minimum before I can buy an MSR. I did send the Heli and the Eclipse to the LHS to get squared away, but if it doesn't work I am pondering installing said AR7000. Any thoughts? Is an MSR a worthy learning tool? Should I just pull the RX out of the Heli and stick the ar7000 in and go forward? Fern

Ron, I had to figure out the programming, but they are close enough to HiTec and I had the manual open while programming. In My little mind the biggest difference was trimming out the MCX and the Mustang. Somehow I bet I can check the trim change number, apply it to the sub trim and zero out the regular trim. I am truly impressed. At this point the only thing the TX does not have is sd card memory. Fern

RE: Mini P-51D from Horizon/Parkzone
OK, after my first hobby grade tx went sideways and killed rx's and esc's via the rx, I switched to Hitec radios. At this time I have 4 of them, a laser 6 with about 6 flights on it, a Flash 5, an Optic 6 and an Eclipse 7, I also have a vintage quad 4 JR tx from a friend. I did not wish to pay Fub or JR prices a couple of years ago, Hitec radios have a great rep, deservedly so. Now I have 2 MCX flights and 2 Mustang flights on the DX7. I may have to start retiring my 72mghz gear. The dx7 gives the feel that the Eclipse 7 gives, but is half as bulky. And for the DSM2 dedicated tx to the DSM2 rx the trims seem better sync'd. I am truly impressed with this radio. Odd thought, I will fly a couple more flights, but the throttle tension seems a bit tight, and a tick more ratchet might be happy. I feel like I am fighting the throttle more that I am used to. This is, at this point, the best TX that I have flown. As Ron/Darticus mentioned, I love the radio so far. Surely there will be issues. RE: Sukhoi Su-26M BNF by ParkZone
Actually, a 50w SU-26 would ensure the end of the model. Or the non-start of the model. The company has to figure who is likely to buy each model and figure out how to entice others to try out the product In the mean time the company has to keep old customers happy. And avoid the Plaintiff's Bar. Are there BL motors and esc's around for these micros? Yes. HH does not wish to get into that trade at this point. Fern
