RE: Gone a while...here is my revo mods
Yeah I would be here more if time allowed. It's nice to have a warm welcome. Is hillfinger still around? I remember he was on here a bunch painting new bodies everyday. He had a nice truck.

RE: Gone a while...here is my revo mods
I got 12" of line to the carb and 4" of pressure. The weather has just changed here and I went back to factory so it is off a bit. Next time out I will dial it again. No blown motors since this last one. I have not been driving as much lately. I usually don't roll dale but just in case. I do alot of street bashing. I will look into the PE filter for sure. Yeah merrit I think it was 3 or 4. Never paid a dime for the replacements either. Lucky dog I guess... I still need to get some vid. Lata guys

RE: Gone a while...here is my revo mods
I may try that. My tank is good though there are no air bubbles in the line from the tank to carb and I have thouroughly checked the carb. No oil out of the front bearing either. No build up around any of the mating surfaces of the block either. I will try the pressure ine idea. It has only just come up and Only ran one tank trying to retune. Thanks for the idea man.

RE: Gone a while...here is my revo mods
Thanks Clymer and Stem. Been wanting to drive really bad this week but rain has had other ideas for me and how to spend my time. I have driven only a handle full of tanks on the new shoes but so far I am somewhat impressed. It is currently pushing in the turns and the drop in pressure has me chasing a tune. It will be soon thrashing some G's over various obstacles and through some high speed turns. I'm going to put a whoopin on my boy next time out. He's been bumpin his jaw for a while now.

That blows Nitrovenom. I have not had any diff probs yet but I am guessing they are just about empty of fluid. What fluids would be best for street bashing you think?

Been away a while. Been tinkering with roll bars since I never run my body. I made a few that work pretty well. I made one out of stainless tubing but no pics. I have also put on the Ths exaust, road rages on 1/2 offset ofna dish wheels. Went to a al 2 peice clutch and it has been awesome so far. Got a hobbico 333oz steering servo and the proline al bellcrank arm. check out the pics and let me know what you think of my roll bars. NITROVENOOOOOM!!!!!!!

RE: Any idea whats wrong with my Revo?
Does the fly wheel move? If it does then yes it is your clutch since you said the bell does not move. If the fly wheel does not move then you need to tighten your flywheel nut. Check your compression cone first though. It could be worn out since it has been spinning on your shaft. (no pun intended). If the fly wheel is all good then replace your clutch shoes. I would go with some sort of aluminum clutch as I have been through too many stockers to waste another 7 bucks on one. Good luck and let us know what it turns out to be.

RE: Revo idling to high
remember though if it has been fine and it just started look for other signs of probs like air in your fuel line or your throttle linkage and servo. If you took a hard hit the collar on your linkage could have slipped a bit. Also your fuel tank oring or lid could need repair. But your lsn could very well be in need of richening.

RE: Good Revo clutch?
I can't remember the brand but I got one from my lhs a few weeks ago. It is a 2 shoe al that is supposedly impregnated with some sort of compostie like the stock material. It is also coated with the composite material. He said that is what he runs in his Navorossi in his truggys. It was 20 bucks but I have been through a dozen stockers so I went for it. It is holding up really well to the street abuse I put it through. I will try to find the mfg's name.

RE: Switching to pull start.
I agree that a pull start can be much kless hassle and more fficient. When traxxas sent me my i think 3rd replacement engine it came with a pull start. I have broken strings but some one told me here that mini blind cord works great as a replacement cord and they were right. I keep some extra in the tool box in case it breaks again but has been fine for a gallon or two now. The glow igniter is easy to keep in ur pocket and hols a charge for over a week of driving. Checking glow plugs is easy with it too. I usually repare my glow plugs if the coil gets bent out of shape and shorts out and with the igniter you can check it easy. My engine is tuned pretty good so it usually starts with 2 or 3 pulls. Much cleaner engine area and less weight. All pros if you ask me. my 2 cents...

RE: Strange sound
If it is as loud as you say it is definatly either your header is cracked around the mounting flange or something else in the exaust system. I would bet it is the header. They are very thin and mounted rigid so the crack/bend/break very easy. If that is the case I have a very easy cheap fix for it.

RE: Pull start rebuild
Thanks south I will try that. I used some thin picture wire last night and it seems good but I worry about it fraying and chewing up the pull start. I will try the blind cord. Mspeed, I am still using my wand for my glow igniter like you are. I like it too as I can see if the plug goes bad. So far I do preffer the pull start. Easy to rebuild given a good cord material. Less battery needs etc,. Thanks guys.

RE: Pull start rebuild
I too have been zip tying the hanger back. The last thing I need is more shock shaft issues. I broke about a dozen or more of them. I don't put much preload on them just enough to keep the front skid from slamming the jump and robbing my momentum. My exaust is still in prototype stages but seems like it will hold up. I would rather have the ths but I don't like spending the walrus pelts. I rather create and fix everything with scraps and stuff that was not made for it. I will try and get some pics of the header. No suggestions on a pull cord material?

Is there room to double nut? On mine I only have about 1.5 threads showing from the nut. I have never had any probs with my slipper.

RE: Revo slipper won't stay tight
It may be time for a rebuild? No need for loctite on the slipper nut. It is a nylon lock nut. If your pads are severly worn you may be out of threads. Maybe try a glow plug washer?

RE: soggy suspension...what springs/oil?
try 45 or 50 wt oil and put the green springs in the front and the silvers that came with it in the rear. Will make it more stiff for better jumping on the big stuff. Adjust the preload locknuts to where the axles are about level to the ground with the front maybe a tad lower than the rear to help with braking and handling.

RE: What is progressive 3?
Go to traxxas.com they each have different rates of mavement wich equals different suspension reactions. I beleive p1 is faster/stiffer, p2 is medium on the scale better all around handling and p3 is a bit slower softer more plush. Then there is the long travel for extremely rough stuff. They are very plush and eat up everything you throw at them but allow more bottoming out.
