RE: Battery operated Gas Pumps
Scale 4me Thanks for the input. I just bought a Graylor Pump and was wondering how safe are these? I don't think they would be able to sell them if they were hazardous, although, no pump is perfect. I just thought this pump looked reliable, thats why I bought it. I have read many threads on this subject, and came up with 50/50 decision. Some guys love them, some won't touch any battery operated pump ???????? I use glow electric pumps with no problems, so why is it guys are afraid of gas pumps? Everybody has their own opinion about it, just want some more input on the negatives or possitives of electric pumps for Gas.

Battery operated Gas Pumps
OK. I know this has already probably been discussed before, but I would like opinions from experienced pilots that use battery operated Gasoline Pumps VS manual pumps. Gasoline is highly expolsive, but my real question is, Why do Manufacturers sell battery operated pumps, knowning the danger? The liability for them must be great. but if they have tested them throughout any problems, maybe they have refined them to be explosion resistant??? I don't know. Switches that operate the pump can cause a minute spark, but highly iregularr from the manufacturer and are located in a seperate plactic housing.. My second question is, " Has anybody ever seen an actual fire or problem with battery operated Gasoline Pumps?"

RE: Removing Robart hinge points question
If it were me, I would cut all of the hinge points. Cut them off flush, then sand smooth. Reinstall new hinge points away from the existing hinges.

RE: How to tune this engine
ORIGINAL: goirish HUMMM!!!! to late. I had to take the LSN out in order to adjust the throttle arm. I screwed it in first before I took it out. It was 6 1/2 turns out. when I moved the throttle arm to the position I needed I put the LSN back in and the turned it out 6 1/2 turns. I can't believe that this would be the factory setting. I have lots of 2 stroke engines and none have the LSN out that many turns. What I wasn't sure if turning clockwise on that carb was leaning the LSN.
If you have many 2 strokes, you should be familiar with them. Bottom line is the LSN is set way to rich when you advance the throttle. Do yourself a favor, read up on this engine and see how it works. Then ask questions later. E.O.S. CW Leans, CCW, Richens.

Then don't start turning screws on the LSN UNTIL you get a manual. They are factory set by most engine MFGR'S.

Nathan, Of course you have no problems with the RCU site, but thousands of us do. Look at all the threads about how slow or non responding, or even can't even access the website at all. Are we all wrong or are you? There is a big problem with this website and it's getting worse, not better as you suggest.

RE: RCU Server is screwed up Big Time
Well Nathan: I am not the only one having problems with this website. It is flat out screwed up....... I try to reply to ad's, and get half way through, it quits, Nothing is saved, This has been an ongoing problem that RCU is unwilling to solve. Many post's on how lousy this site has become, Yet we all have to put up with Unresponsive and Negative results. It is not our computers, nor is it our private Internet servers, it's a problem with your Guru's at RCU that don't have any idea how to fix it. This has been ongoing now for+ 2 years!!!!! It is not our personal computer settings,, not with thousands of complaints posted, yet it continues to anger people to a point of forgetting this website all together. Many times I can't even access the website at all????? We get " Service is Unavailable" Error code 505.

++5 for your post. Guess people are afraid of replacing anything themselves. Changing bearings is not a big deal as I found out. Easy to do, and if your tearing down an engine anyway, why not replace the baarings at the same time??

RE: OS 91FS Help!
ORIGINAL: MinnFlyer Just put a little fuel in it and turn it over by hand. It'll loosen up after just a few turns
MinnFlyer has a good very good suggestion. If it seems gummed up after running fuel through it by hand, then pull the engine, pull the backplate and look at the bearings. I am replacing bearings in a Super Tigre 75, the rear bearing would hardly move at all. Check it out before rushing into starting it. If the bearings are bad, replace them. Why take the chance with a great 4 stroke? If they feel rough turning the prop by hand, they are bad and need to be replaced. Just My Opinion. Not an expert by ant means.
