RE: This is ridiculous...
That 's why I went with EC3's, soldering bullet connectors is the easiest thing in the world, and their power handling and ease of use are without a doubt the best I've found for our fleet ;) You want the best, fullest solid connection you can get too, and this is even more important with bigger power-hungry setups, like a 1/8 buggy

RE: Losi 8eight E conversion
Not sure if it's rocks or if drivers overseas are trying out some funky driving techniques, but I've seen some stuff lately.... :p lol Yea, definitely keep it buggy. Buy a buggy to have a buggy, and a truggy to have a truggy ;) I'll go back over the posts earlier and try to answer any previous questions too Edit: The questions, a bit late, but my answers: From what I have seen and heard, Tekno doesn't know the meaning of a flop in the chassis department, and my personal experience with mine tells me there might be more than just rumor there! Braking and center diff applications: My experience and what I know tells me that basically the center diff only splits power so much, it is always putting something out each end as long as its spur is being supplied with power. This goes into, basically, another spur on each differential. The diffs (front and rear) take the power from there and divvy it up side to side based on which side needs what. Absolute worst case scenario would mean you'd still have at least one tire up front and one in back applying braking power. Every 4X4 I've ever owned, however, always stopped with all fours. My current pair, the Losi and my Slash 4X4, has stopped with all four locked up on many surfaces. I usually fine-tune my motor brakes via card or laptop so they come just a hair short of full-lock on a given terrain. Gives the shortest stopping distances for really charging corners hard ;)

RE: Looking for bike information
Time for an update! Today was "bust my butt" day with this bike. I got the carbs pulled off, pulled apart and thoroughly cleaned with carb cleaner, got my ignition timing just perfect, got the new battery in, oil, brake fluid, fiddled with the chain and even took a few trips up and down the street, she is not too terrible! The only issue is right now, I have the idle set at 2K RPM. I know, yikes, but I am NOT running it like this! If I back off the idle to anything less than 2K on the nose, it stalls out in very short order. The right cylinder is running fairly rich, and my intake boots have some cracks in them. Looks like I will be getting new boots tomorrow to see if that helps the problem, I am hoping it is just an air leak from that causing it. I am very close to making this thing road-ready and spending the last warm bit of the year cruising around on her

RE: Dinner time
Tommy has disappeared with his busy home life and I just haven't had time to type up recipes and put here. Well, the Midnight Chef is back and I'm thinkin this thread has been dead way too long! The time is 2:32 AM here, and here is the meal we just finished, a quick, cheap, simple dinner, but great nonetheless. Altogether about $6 for the two of us together. Polish sausage 1 can beer sauerkraut butter (1/2 stick) Large frying pan (I used 14-16") Melt half stick of butter in frying pan on Med-Low heat, add sausage and about 2/3 can of beer, the kind of beer will also change the flavor, pick to taste. Simmer uncovered until beer is completely cooked off (about 10-15 min) Add Sauerkraut, cover, and continue simmering an additional 8 minutes. Put on sausage on a bun, top with sauerkraut and mustard! The fries are Rally's Famous Fries topped with Ragu cheese

Love tea, but been on a coffee kick from hell lately [&:] The 750 is my most likely choice, as it can be had locally in running condition for around $1k, and less than that again to get where I'd need it. The only thing I will likely need to send it out of house for would be jetting and synching all four carbs. We will have the money for everything figured out in the next couple of weeks ;)
ORIGINAL: Anthoop Hehe, yes I can tell that you are wide eyed and bushy tailed. RE: Looking for bike information
Actually from what I can see of many of the ones I have looked at, they just hard tail the rear at a bit of an angle to lower it as well, and they don't mess with the rake on the front, at least not for this bike. Then forward controls, and i am really digging the look of the drag bars over ape hangers and the stockers. Looks like my plan is being formed as we speak :) If I can find a way to get the rust done right and still have it as a daily rider then I will, otherwise I am thinking of doing it in the deepest black i can with a wine red Dark Lotus cross on the tank, right on the top. The rest will also be black, still deciding how much chrome I actually want on it, never been a big fan of the shiny stuff. I know a guy with an old Yamaha 650 that he bobbed, he did a bare and brushed steel tank and clear coated it, and followed a similar trend thru the rest of the bike, came out very raw, bare and barn-built looking, I LOVED it! Of course this bike will only be mine until I decide to give it to my old lady, but only after I find one I really want. I am looking to build an old-school cafe racer, I have my eyes on finding an old Honda CB750-4 from the 70's, or if I can scrape up the extra coin, I'd LOVE an old Norton or BSA! Yes, you can tell I am brand new, wild eyed, full of ideas and ready to go, eh?

RE: Looking for bike information
I found a rust scheme on a chopper pic that I am absolutely in love with, would also like to figure out how to duplicate it, but stopping the rust at a certain point so it doesn't just keep going and going! Also I think keeping it from rubbing off and turning your clothes rusty would be a plus, maybe a flat rust-stop clear coat after it's begun? I know the right mix of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar can make bare metal grow surface rust almost instantly, I've used that before

Looking for bike information
After spending the last two hours on Google I have decided to come here. Do any of you other gear heads know where a good all-in-one spot would be to gather info and possibly prices on bobbing or konging a Jap bike out? Now that I have this little KZ440 running I think it would be fun to turn into a chopper of sorts, but have no experience in this area, just in general fabrication. I have experience in mechanics, custom fab and my neighbor can weld like no tomorrow, so the scale of the project does not bother me, just my lack of information. This bike has a much bigger sound than I expected from such a small displacement, btw. I have a vid of it running but the quality is horrible!

Hydrogen would be one of the better ways to go IMHO. RE: Hyundai vs. Mercedes C230
Uhhh I had no idea, honestly, when I'd written that. Apparently the Alero gets 19/city 29/highway, 2001 Olds Alero, 3.4 V6, 1105k Mi Aaaaaand the Ranger, 1997, gets 19/city 24/highway It sure seems like they do a lot better, though, but the numbers don't mean much if you think about it in terms of one car needing $15 in gas daily for one owner, but an identical car only needs $20 a week for the other guy. Obviously one will be happier with the mileage than the other!
ORIGINAL: Eman77 Fahrt, what MPG do you get though? I have to admit it kind of bugs me when folks go on about how little $$ it takes to fill it per week, or how many weeks they can go on a full tank, but it really doesn't give the reader any clue as to how far you went in that time, how big the tank is, etc. It's all about miles per gallon. Don't get me wrong - I know you're not trying an MPG bragging session. But since you brought it up that you're happy with yours, I'm curious what the MPG is you're getting (that is, what makes you happy for your purposes/vehicles). Now I know you're not doing this, but the best example I can think of is when folks brag about how they can go 400 miles on a tank of gas. Or dealers that tout that. I mean, the tank could be 25 gallons. LOL
