I put this movie together with a bunch of old footage. Some good wipe outs. Boats include SuperVee 27, SuperVee Nitro, Reef Racer 2, TopSpeed 2 Brushless and the Black Jack 26 Nitro. No boats were hurt in the making of this movie. Enjoy. [link]http://www.youtube.com/user/Fast1Guy[/link] Look for RC Boat Feaver

Like Ron says, you guys are pretty ruff on your boats. I can just imagine how you treat your trucks. But thats how things get done in northern Ontario isn't it?
ORIGINAL: TonyBuilder Hard at work on the wing! What would be the proper installation of the Robart hinge points for the ailerons? The kit is designed with Sig easy CA hinges that install at the top of the sheeting. I would think that a Robart hinges could be installed at a somewhat 20-degree or greater angle to get into solid blocking, any advice would be great. Â TB
Hope this helps.

RE: glow or electric
Here are 3 examples of planes that I fly on floats. All are electric, have been flowen many times and never been dunked. I can see no reason to go glow over electric. Both are equal in performance. I built this plane as my first build. Made mine electric. I found the kit went together very well. Others have reported the same. Did the J3 wing. Great flyer. Good luck and take some pics.

RE: 2S vs 3S lipos
I think I know what you are getting at. If you set up your power system so both the 2s and 3s systems have the same wattage and performance, say 300 watts by changing the prop or motor then you will get a longer run time on the 3s battery even though they are both 3000ma. This is because to get 300 watts at 7.4v you would be drawing 40.5 amps. To get the same 300 watts on 11.1v you would draw 27 amps which would be 32% less amps or mah from the battery to get the same power from the motor. Should get 32% longer run time on 3s. Hope this helps and makes sense.

Best to use a timer. Start with a 5min. run and see how much of your battery you have used when you recharge.

RE: Sebart Katana S 50e or Sukhoi 29S 50e for 5S
I have the Sukhoi 29 50, bought it about 2 years ago and it has at least 100 flights on it. Went with a RimFire 50-65-450-.120, CC HV85 and APC 16x8 prop. Tried it first on 5s and it performed nicely and would be acceptable but 6s 3200 30c really made it come alive. Pulls around 70a at full throttle according to my Eagle Tree data logger and hovers at 1/2 throttle. Here is a short video. RE: Hobbico Electristar Select EP Trainer RTF
I have been running 5s lipo and 6s A123 in my Estar with the stock motor. APC 12x6 and a Castle Phoenix 60s ESC. Performance is quite satisfying (won't hover for long though) and the motor seems to be happy handling the higher voltage. Amp draw is about 40a so the motor is producing close to 750 watts. The stock Estar motor is rated for 18v from the info I could find so if you have some 5s batteries lying around and get a new ESC you have a nice upgrade.

Go on the Sig site. Click on information and videos along the top of the page, then a list will appear on the left side of the page and then choose Sig Airplane build manuals and finally choose your type of kit from the drop down list. Sig's site is hard to navigate. [X(]

RE: Hyperion 0606i question
ORIGINAL: ppkk Hi folks, I bought the above charger about a year ago and up to now have been using it to charge LiPo's - great charger overall. I did for the first time, try to charge a 6V NiMH battery in it, and to my surprise I saw no way of adjusting the charge voltage to match that of my battery pack. Looking at the manual, it has an example where they are charging a NiCad battery and the example says the NiMH screens would be exactly the same. In that screen, the charge voltage is shown, but on my charger's display, the only thing that I can see and change is the charging Amp, but not the voltage. Can anyone who is used to this charger chime in and shed some light on this for me? Thanks! P.S. I can adjust the ''discharge'' voltage in the cycling menu, but nothing on the charge voltage. Strange.
I have both the 610i-net and 615i-duo3 and when setting up for NiCad or NiMH you have to set the number of cells in the pack before charging. The charger then sets the correct voltage just like LIPO or A123s.

RE: GP Silhouette on Floats
Thanks for the kind words. The Silhouette made a much better floatplane than I had ever imagined. Because it’s so light it doesn’t have the realistic takeoffs and landings of my Sig 1/5 scale cub but is a lot more relaxing to fly. Link the video to your site if you like. I got most of my float plane know how from there.
