RE: To UBEC or not to UBEC? (help)
Hello guys. Does anyone knows an speed control to be used in an electric boat that can be operated using an old radio equipment? I am just finishing a new boat from scratch, 27 " length and want to use either a nib EK LRB or a NIB Hobby Lobby 6. In other of my boats, i use a 25 esc with a JR radio and this equipment has the posibility of conenect the esc to a the receiver to use in an electric boat. Do you know how i can replace the esc in order to use my old radios? Any suggestion of motor, soeed control and batteries?

My Mini-t build
Got this little guy in a trdae a few weeks back. Ran it for a day and then got the upgrade bug! I like it alot for front yard bashing. Ity is a little fragile though so I upgraded many parts to alum. I guess CC motor power is a little too much for most of the stock parts! Does the stock ESC/motor do OK with Lipo batteries? 2S 7.4V 1600Mah to be specific.

Thank you I just happened to have this two items on hand, but reading your answers another question comes to mind.....How do i figure out what kind of motor to use in a particular plane? Like the axi 220834 i just got, everywhere saids up to 17oz (like the formosa) but reading the instructions quotes that weight is for gliders and for scale or aerobatics go for the lower half of the range, I think is misleading.

Hello guys, A friend of mine has been collecting over the years, brand new engines and some with a few use and now (he is almost 70) he wants to sell his collection but he doesn't know how much can he ask for each engine... neither do I. My first suggestion was to make a complete list with the condition of each engine, including the manufacturer, estimated manufactured year, the condition and if possible, to make some pictures in order to have a detailed information to complete the research. Malorie. I need help. I have an Observer with a g26 and a Hanson tunned pipe flying at 9000 feet, The pipe gets realy hot, maybe is the neddles settings, Could you direct me in how open do the neddles need to be or is normal for the pipe to be that hot. What was your first Radio?
My first radio was an EK-LRB and a Goldberg 1/2 A Cessna. That was in 1973.... Two years ago, i built a replica of the cessna with some modifications, including ailerons, operated with JR microservos and a Norvel .74 engine. Flew great. I'm trying to find a EK radio, just for my memories.
