RE: Critical update needed to build instructions
I have been using the stock Hitec servo arms for more than 3 years with no problems whatsoever. I don't use loctite on the screws.

RE: RE:
ORIGINAL: speedbird01 25 flights now and a nice plane overall, although struggling to get it's performance to where it should be. CG update I have now flown with the CG forward and back to (nearly) the Aeroworks recommended point. Plane starts to dive when inverted if you go much forward from there (as expected). The elevator is ultra sensitive, but I guess that is ''normal'' then if you want the best CofG. Anyone else on that ? I am at 60% of recommended throw and 60% expo to make it ok... Rolling update I wacked in 50% differential and not much difference to the barreling rolls. It still rolls like a pig to be frank {akamaiimageforum}/micons/m13.gif. I re-measured the throws and they are identical on both ailerons. My experience says some ships seem to barrel and other don't, it is probably the one quirks that is most personal to a plane - how axial it rolls and I believe the trueness of the wings is at the heart of this. We have two 260''s at our field and I was watching them carefully, and one rolls perfectly axial, the other has a very slight barrel and mine is a.... So my next plan is to confirm if it is yawing RIGHT when I bank LEFT, i.e confirm if it is adverse yaw. If so, I plan to mix in a bit of rudder on aileron to compensate and see if that fixes it. I already mixed in a bit of DOWN elevator to correct knifedge (needs down for both sides) and that has been good for knifedge flight. My mixes on/off switch will be like a magic trick if the yaw couple I will add works ! On it it will fly like a dream, off and it is an adolescent rogue !
Something's wrong. My expert pilot friend flew mine and noted how well my plane rolled.

RE: Introducing The New 50cc Extra 300 ARF-QB!
ORIGINAL: leepord geko Lol I think thats a little optimistic but i don't doubt it, because i was trying vess props on my smaller applications just the sport props and WOW the 15x6 on a saito is ridiculous, I also tried a vess 17x8 on my mld 28cc and it was turning too much rpm for the ignition, and I thought this hype was B.S but have I ever been proven wrong! I plan on ordering some either a vess 23a and 23b or something in the 22 size? Some people say that the vess A props pull but its like flying in neutral. I just weighed the plane tonight and got around 16lbs give or take a half pound. I'm also trying a new oil which is husqavarna and so far good results! Later
Nah, that isn't optimistic, that's the real thing. 7400 is what people on FG and I are getting with the 23A on the 55. Pull out is great.[:D]

Get a Vess 23A and you'll be getting upwards of 7400 RPM.

Is there a reason you're not going with a manual choke? You'll save weight and remove another point of failure. If cutting the engine is your motive, then just you can get an electronic ignition cut-off from either smart fly or 42% products.

Now, I'm confused as to where the CG on my plane is. What I can tell you is that the inverted requires a breath of down elevator which is perfect in my book.

I set the C.G. to back from the recommended 4" because of flight reports on here and as you said it work out perfect this way. The recommended is indeed incorrect.

RE: Introducing The New 50cc Extra 300 ARF-QB!
ORIGINAL: Jake Ruddy I have been using them for 2 years now. A123s are great but they are heavy. They charge quick but you have to recharge every 6 or 7 flights on a 50cc plane depending how you fly (if you are using 2 2300 packs). I run them in my 35% plane but 2 2300 packs weigh 13oz so while I like the fast charging I really dont like the weight. Other news, my muffler has arrived! So has the darn rain! :( I willl be finishing it up over the weekend and see what the weather holds, I am 10 mins from the field so I plan on getting out several times this week to get a bunch of flights on it. RE: Introducing The New 50cc Extra 300 ARF-QB!
Hey guys, I just got back from the maiden an hour ago and all I can say is "Wow!" what an airplane. Throttled up and it took off straight as an arrow. One click left aileron and one click down elevator and it was hands-off. Inverted requires a breath of down elevator. The C.G. is spot-on a little forward of the recommended 4". The main thing I noticed is how the stable the airframe is. It felt smooth as silk. Rolls are axial and crisp and there is some knife edge coupling that will be mixed in my 12FG in the coming flights. Up lines and down lines are straight and smooth. The keyword is "smooth". I am very pleased!

RE: 12FG Dual Elevator Expo
ORIGINAL: Bax 1) You can set the tail type to ''Ailevator''. This will allow dual rates and expo to be set for both sides. 2) You can name each of the elevator channels as ''Elevator''. This will do the same thing. The Ailevator function works best, because the software of the transmitter is geared to work with it.
Thank you Bill. I will go with the "Ailevator" function.

RE: Split Fuel Tank
ORIGINAL: EdFly Has anyone had a problem with the 25 oz fuel tank developing a split at the seam around the neck? 12FG Dual Elevator Expo
Hi, I'm trying to set-up my new plane that has dual ailerons and dual elevators. The ailerons work perfect. I've got 2 rates set up for the ailerons to allow for triple rates. I decided to skip the ailevator function for dual elevators and go for independent elevators so my the tail type is normal. When I actuate the elevators, they work fine including the trim. When I go to set the rates for the elevators in the "AFR" menu, only one elevator moves. I tried creating a mix when "Elev 1" was mixed to "Elev 2" with "STK" on with no avail. How do I go about doing this? Do I need a mix to control the rates of both elevators and if I do how do I set it up? Do I need to go back all over and set the tail type to ailevators. Mind you I have changed the ailerons to channels 11 and 12 for convenience. Thanks!
