Chuck, I'm sorry to hear about your plane's disagreement with the EZ-Up. You sure did the repairs fast. Good luck with both maidens today.
ORIGINAL: RC_Pattern_Flyer Well, after a series of unfortunate events which are better told at NATS with a cold beer ;) Here is the backup. Maiden will be Sunday. Tomorrow is copying setup from Number One. Cant wait to see everyone there. Chuck Hochhalter
For those of us not going to the NATS what's the story? Another good looking Pentathlon. Good luck with the maiden!

RE: Jetero Patern Contest 2012
Nice pics Ron! I forgot to mention that I really appreciated both Don and Andre taking the time and preparation for putting on the judging school. It was very informative for me and done with the right amount of discussion and detail. Good job guys!!!

RE: District 6 Contest 2012
ORIGINAL: flyintexan Like there is a choice..... On the other hand, you could drive to each field between rounds leaving a plane all setup at each location....
You're right. I guess the real pilots will be in Crosby.

RE: District 6 Contest 2012
Chuck, Just letting you know that the dates for the Jetero contest are also the same dates as the Crosby IMAC contest (about 10 miles away). I guess several pilots will have to make a choice where they'll be flying that weekend. Bummer...

Safe Storage of Many LiPo's
Many of us now have lots of 10S packs plus a host of other LiPo's. To this point I've been storing them and carrying them around in standard Harbor Freight style charge boxes. These boxes are often in my truck, trailer, or on shelves in my garage. I assume many people are storing and transporting their LiPo's in a similar fashion. I've wondered in the back of my mind whether this is a smart thing to do from a safety perspective so here's my question. Are you doing anything special or do you use special containers when transporting or storing your LiPo's?

RE: USA F3A Team Website is UP
Do the proceeds from any of these three ways to participate go directly to support the costs of Team USA or is this simply a way to contribute to AMA & NSRCA? I purchased a shirt off the NSRCA website thinking I was directly supporting Team USA. After the fact, I got suspicious of how the funds were being used and asked that question and received a response shown here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10577621/tm.htm The answer appears to be saying that the proceeds will be used to fund the activities of hosting the World’s event rather than directly supporting the Team USA Members. Since making donations & contributions is a personal decision for people it should be very clear for people of how their contributions will be used so they can make an informed choice. Can you please clarify? Go Team USA!!!

RE: 2011 F3A Merchandise for sale by the NSRCA
Do the proceeds from these merchandise sales go directly to support the US Team? I did purchase a shirt thinking that was the case but after rereading the opening to this thread it doesn't mention direct support for the Team. Neither does the website where this merchandise is purchased mention how the proceeds will be used. Hmmm....did I get snookered???

RE: T-Can virgin requires info
In case you haven't seen it here's a link to a build thread with a discussion about a T-can installed on a Pentathlon Evolution (starts with post #54). The T-can wings are both removable and have the ability to adjust the incidence. This pic shows the plane with the T-can installed. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10002981/mpage_3/key_/tm.htm

RE: Dean Connectors
Tin the 10G wire and let it cool. Use a dremel cutoff wheel to cut a slot in the center of the end of the tinned wire. Push Dean's tab into the cut slot. Should be a snug fit. Use solder iron to heat and bond. Cover with shrink wrap. Works like a charm.

RE: PPG Paint
ORIGINAL: pattratt Hey Chris What is the name of the store you use in Houston/ Dick
Hi Dick, You probably meant your question for me and not Chris. The shop I was referring to is Brault Auto Paint & Supply Store #2. They are actually in Tomball. Also, they will sell in quantities as small as 1/2 pint and not 4 ounces like I previously stated (I've gone back and edited that post). 1/2 pint is the quantity I last bought from them and I mistakenly thought that was 4 ounces when it really is 8 ounces. I've been getting PPG Concept DCC and have been real pleased with their color matching. As a matter of information the latest charge from them was $24.95 for 8 ounces of a metallic mixed color. Dean
