RE: EXI 450 thread
Yep, I crashed the HK 2 or 3 times that had the aluminum frame and I just bent it back in place. it usually goes sideways, but then again it depends how hard you go in, ;-) all the parts are cheap even the frames , I would stay away from the carbon , there $$ until you get good and haven't moved up. One thing I found out is the 450 unless set up good can be a hand full, Its quick, & fast , so make sure you set it up right.

RE: EXI 450 thread
They are both about the same , cause they are exact clones of the Trex, I got the $19.00 Hk kit it had all plastic head parts, which has since bit the dust and I put a clone all metal head on it. The EXI was part metal and Plastic on the head assembly. The EXI screws were phillips head screws and the HK came with Hex head screws, I pefer the Hex head screws but both are of inferior metal and the heads will strip easy. EXI offered several versions of the V2 450 till the pro 450 came out they only offer the plastic version now, HK still offers the cheap version V2 as well as an alloy version, Parts are easy to get on ebay for the V2, but most are from china etc, which will take a while to get, eheli still sells parts , cost a little more but you'll get quicker. Hope this helps MIke PS the metal frame is much better that the fiberglass or carbon fiber, Cause till you stop crashing , most of the time you can bend the metal frame back in place instead of having to replace it.

GreenAce92 Check xheli again. They are selling the plastic version exi450 for only 37.70 instead of 39. you mentioned being sold by nitro. Xheli offers an aluminum version for the $49. Plus xheli sells parts etc for them . Hope this helps Just Plane Mike

RE: EXI 450 thread
Hello Where is the other thread u guys are talking about? I'm still getting info on my EXI clone, also obtaining equipment piece by piece. So far I have gotten the following and would like feedback on the items. 1. I got a Zippy Flightmax 2200 3c 11.4 25C battery. In reference to the 25c What is this ?(discharge rate?) I've seen batteries with 15C -20C etc. Whats the diffrence? which one should I stick With? 2. I have a Futaba 401 Gyro, I'm sure this will work, Would a cheeper Align or Telebee be ok? What about a JR500T I have a couple of these. 3. I got 3 cyclic JR285's digital but wanted metal gears, didn't notice tll to late as a high bidder on ebay that they were not metal. 4. the heli came with a EMAX HL2215/450 3800kv Brushless motor , these are ali over ebay , is this a good motor? does the cooling fan feature really work? 5. Back to the tail servo, do I really need to go the the expense on a futaba 9560? which would be the best choice of the following the 9560, hs81, or a jr290 ? any other suggestions? Well enough questions for now , More later Fleet EXI 450, nothing instralled yet Hirobo Shuttles, Senior Telemaster,T-28,Hanger 9 Miss America,Harrier 46 3D(For Sale)

RE: EXI 450 thread
Hello, Still looking for servos etc for my EXI 450 a couple of questions? Told an HS-81 would be a good tail servo, would it be a good servo for cyclic etc? Want to mount gyro under tail boom, possibly a 401 , 500t, or a telbee, looking at it the tail rod may be to long, and might interfer, is it? how do you adjust it? Hoping to go to IRCHA this week to check things out Fleet EXI 450, nothing instralled yet Hirobo Shuttles, Senior Telemaster,T-28,Hanger 9 Miss America,Harrier 46 3D(For Sale)

RE: EXI 450 thread
Hello, Lets keep this thread going. I did something really stupid. but I guess it worked out. I'm into the Hirobo Shuttles. But I wanted a small electric to fly in the back yard. So I've been looking at the HK450 by Hobby King and thought it would be a cheap start. Well the other day I came accross a 450 which Had an orginal Align canopy on it new and had blades and motor . Well the price was great so I jumped on it. Well later while looking for servos ,esc , battery, I found out I was stupid and earlier did not look past the canopy other that the nice aluminum frame. To my suprise I BOUGHT A CLONE. it was an EXI 450. Well I think i broke even but didnt get the real bargan I was hoping for. I did discover that this EXI 450 appears to be a lot better then the HK 450. So right now I'm in the process of still finding servos, esc , batteries etc for it. Any current advise out there , Love to hear it.
