[/quote] [:D] Welcome Craig to the Revvers, number is 263. [:D] Post us a picture of your Magnum when you can. [:D]

RE: H9 Aresti question
....as I recall, the elevator caused the horiz. stab to break where it attached to the fuse. You can see in the picture I posted that I cut the covering back and glued the stab back solidly to the fuse. The covering I had on hand didn't match the original color perfectly but at that point I was happy to still have the airplane in one piece after the audible flutter. The hinges held up fine, I believe, and the vertical stab and rudder were not effected. [;)] That plane is a "snapper".....that is to say, if you pull back too much elevator you will be rewarded with a near perfect unexpected snap roll. [:@]

RE: H9 Aresti question
....I employed a double elevator rod system to keep both sides of the elevator under control. The tail brace shored everything up as well. Mine went about 125 tops, so extreme speed....no, but it hauled butt for a sport plane. FBD. [:D]

RE: H9 Aresti question
....yep. I gotta fire up my old computer and see if I can find the details. I believe it was the horizontal stab....the reason is because the elevator surfaces are way too big, causing the flutter. If I can't find the info. I'll do a search on...."Flyboy Dave Arresti problems". I still have the plane....Ill get more info tomorrow. [:D]

RE: OS 61RF issue
....yo, Bro....I don't want to argue. I've been running these OS .61RF engines for over 10 years. I wore out 3 engines in this same Super Kaos, including an RF engine. (also a K&B .61 and an OS .60 FSR) Goodbye. FBD. [:D]

RE: OS 61RF issue
.....this is a low RPM "torque" engine. It does not have the port timing necessary to turn high revs. When an engine comes on the pipe, the RPM jump about 3 thousand. Normally an engine has to unload in the air to get on the pipe. Watch how control line speed planes are whipped by the pilot to get the engine on the pipe. [;)] FBD. [:D]

RE: OS 61RF issue
Notice the Mac's specs on the .61 RF (near the bottom of the page) http://www.macspro.com/tuning.asp It calls for a 6" header (long) and a 11,300 rpm with the 11-8 Zinger. Notice the header length on my RF. Mine turned 11,400 with 15% PowerMaster with some added castor. I left it alone. BTW, that engine is not likely to "come on the pipe" no matter what you do to it. It is a long stroke engine. If you have never tried the Zinger props, give 'em a try. If all you use is APC's, you're in for a suprise. [;)] FBD. [:D]

RE: Tower .75
Sorry for the slow reply, Ed....been up to my arse in alligators. [8|] Yes, I remember back then....those engines were the best bang for the buck in the industry. Too bad things went haywire with the marketing, or whatever happened. The mufflers had to be prepped before the first run, or problems would arise, for sure. I think I still have a new one in the box too. [;)] FBD. [:D]
