RE: HOBYY KING Has Ripped Me Off!!!!!
over 36 order with HK now and several thousands dollars spent. Never had an issue, and i've ordered planes to not just small parts. I live in the boonies so buying online is my main way of staying in this hobby... I'm not going to support a LHS that charges $65.00 for a HK nanotech lipo that they stock from HK, why should i?? when i get to the city i always stop at the LHS and usually don't leave without spending over $100.00 plus i can get stuff shipped just as cheap from HK as i can from the LHs which is less than 3 hours away!!

RE: Roof Racks to Carry Giant Scale Planes?
I dunno goose, you said you weren't a fabricator, welder, carpenter but that looks pretty darn nice to me!!!!! I personally bought an old tent trailer for a case of beer and gutted it out. I could put my 100CC Cap 580, 50CC Extra 330, and 6 other smaller planes in it as well. I removed the propane tank mount on the front and attached a box for my flight box and fuel to sit in as well as a battery for charging things at the field. Plus it works awesome for a workbench at the field once the roof is down. I did sell it when i sold my 2 big planes, and am now going to build a box that fits in the back of my 1/2 ton truck as i'm scaling down to 30CC and smaller glow planes. Then the box can be pulled out and put in the roof of the garage for storing the planes during the winter and it'll keep them from getting covered in saw dust all the time ( the wife and i do a lot of woodworking) great job on the box goose!! RE: New Demon ready to rip!!!!
I went out last night with my little spreader and 6 bags of grass seed/fert mixture and spread it on a patch about 300 feet long.... The airstrip only gets used by one spray plane pilot and he was thrilled that i would put grass out there.... it's supposed to rain tomorrow (again!!!) and hopefully it will take off soon.

RE: New Demon ready to rip!!!!
Well i got several more flights in last night with the demon... switched back to the 9X8 and set up dual rates. On high rates does it ever roll!!! My wife came out and watched me fly (a rarity) and when i flipped to high rates and cranked it she was like "OH NO!!" she thought i had lost it... hee hee hee!! Made many wide open passes down the runway at about 3-4 feet off the ground.... i love the sound as it goes by!!! On my last flight when i brought it in just a little off centre of the runway and must have hit a small rock or something when it landed as it ripped the covering wide open on the bottom.. :( I fly at our local municiple runway and the centre is decent but once you get to the side a bit the grass gets mighty thin! Oh well i was going to put some striping on the bottom for better visibility anyways... Geoff

RE: sdshobby?? ever heard of
There was a guy at the funfly i was at last weekend that had just purchased a bipe from them... i think it was the pitts... anyways he was pretty impressed with the build quality with the exception of the landing gear which were very flimsy... beautiful looking plane and of course the instructions were crap...[:D] I have the Extra 330 from Great Hobbies out of Edmonton AB, which is the same extra with a diff. covering scheme as the one T3 did in his build. Built strong and light and everything went together very well. geoff

RE: New Demon ready to rip!!!!
had many flights today on the Demon... had several people ask where i could get the kit, so hopefully you'll get a couple more orders out of it.... turned up the expo some more and really started to get a lot more comfortable with it today.... i also got my EF Outlaw in the air as well.... the Outlaw is a good warmup for the demon... not as quick but with the rudder it can do some pretty interesting moves!!! Will be putting the 9X8 back on it and am going to start cruising the classifieds for a tuned pipe[8|] Geoff

well i adjusted the throws down to where they should have been in the first place and got another flight in last night.... what a difference.....[8|] was way more fun... i had also thrown a 10X7 on it which improved launching but noticably reduced top speed.... that's ok for now! Geoff

RE: New Demon ready to rip!!!!
towards the end of the flight i was getting a little more comfortable in the fact that i could yank it around in a fairly tight turn and it had no bad habits like snapping out or anything like that... I'm thinking probably 6 or so flights with the 10X7 or 11X5 to really get comfy then put the 9X8 back on and purchase a couple 8X9's [>:] GEoff

RE: New Demon ready to rip!!!!
Welllllll.... i got the first flight in tonight and all i can say is Wowsers!!!!! It is way faster than anything i've ever flown... i thought my dogfighter spad with the thin wing was quick but not even close to this.... I ended up finding a 9X8 prop in the bottom of my flight box so i slapped it on.... and i went out by myself cause my neighbour was busy. I gripped it in between the elevons with my thumb on top and fingers underneath and tossed it up and slightly to the right... it barely dipped just rocketed off!!!! It had been raining all day long and finally quit but there were lots of clouds still and it was getting late as i waited until after i put my daughter to bed so i only got one flight in. I just about lost it twice against the clouds as i let it get to far away (that sure doesn't take long yeeesh!!) but managed to recover. I'll be propping down until i get more comfortable with it and i'll set up dual rates as the 3/8" travel seemed really twitchy even with 50% expo!! I can see this plane will be a ton o fun once i get some more flights under my belt. once i landed i looked down at my hands and they were shaking[8|] lots of adrenalline in that flight!! [>:] Great kit mike... i'm going to a fun fly in Saskatoon this weekend (providing it's not raining) and plan on ripping it up!!! cheers geoff[:D]

RE: Team Canada wins GOLD!
Don Cherry is all about Don Cherry!!! shock and awe..... i just tune in to see what type of suit he's got on then i tune out!! Tjettzky.... i didn't see it but i totally believe it!! I coach my sons bantam team and we have a 15 game schedule plus we usually sprinkle in a couple exhibition games at the start of the year to help get the kids into shape. The kids are on the ice usually 3 times a week, usually 2 practices and a game or vice versa. with provincials and if we were to go to the league finals that puts us at 24 games which is about right. Plus the ice doesn't go in until halloween in our rink. This will probably be my sons last year as he's 15 and has a girlfriend and loves working on vintage snowmobiles as well. Just wish i could get him flying!!! geoff

well Mike... it's ready for covering........ i cannot claim to have built it though. Made a deal with a buddy who is a real good builder and traded him some stuff for building services. It's going to get a TT .46 to start until i'm used to it... then something faster. I've got some yellow ultracote that has chrome spots all over it for the bottom and it'll have white on the top with a couple maple leafs and a very colourful wingtip... should be alright for contrast. I was chatting with one of my customers who's son plays AA Bantam hockey and was blown away by how many games his son plays.... he figured that between league, tournaments, playoffs and provincials that he'd play over 70 games this winter. the season starts middle of september and ends in april!! And they also used to do summer hockey as well!!
