RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
Gorilla glue or any PU glue. It gets in the cracks and bonds well and is sandable when dry. Just my 2 cents

I have the same pnp . I added a few oz up front also. But later moved most of my electronics in the floor between the seats. This allowed me to remove some nose weight.

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
Maidened my Vanquish today !! It sure is more stable than my Helios90, what a difference. Nose heavy gonna end up with packs back about an inch and receiver battery back to its original location on the wingtube. Flys nice and slow with long steady uplines. Motor has good power but not snappy like my Helios which is probably a good thing. Shes a keeper ![:)]

Welcome to the club of failed landing gear ! The stock springs are well known for being garbage. I use one high quality spring and one o ring. Remember to think "scale" when reworking the suspension. You want them to be easily flexible.

RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
Just got my new 8" Tundra tires for the Cub. They fit perfectly on the Dubro 1/5 scale rim. Can't wait to fly it ....they weigh about 16oz each. Allot heavier than the stock setup. But the look is too cool, and I'm sure they will make landing a little softer.

Yes 6" inch do work very well. These are the scale equivalent of the 35" tundra wheel.

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
A little tip I use. Always pre-run bolts into blindnuts prior to mounting. That way you will have no suprises, in case a blind nut is cross threaded or screwed up. It happens..... Its easy to cross thread those bolts because you dont have much room under the stab, specially if your hex driver has a fat handle. I ground off one of the handles on a hex driver for the bolts to the landing gear, I couldn't reach them. You might have to get creative too. Anyway..good luck thats a toughy.

These are the 200mm Airtop wheel from France. Weight is about 16oz each Cost about $100 shipped per pair. Inflatable, but I run them with no air in them.

RE: Great Planes Sequence F3A
Just finished the Sequence. Did dual elevator servos in the tail and pull pull for rudder. 4s 3700mah pack turning a 14x8.5 90amps at about 1100 watts. Think i will tone it down to a 14x7

RE: Great Planes Sequence F3A
If anyone is still checking the thread, Ive run some numbers on incidence and they seem very strange. The wing with refence to the canopy line is .3 and the stab is 1.5 That would explain all the up trim. And why I couldn't get this thing to fly without lots of inputs. I shelved it and flew my Helios, but now want my daughter to fly it . My VAnquish is .6 wing and zero stab with reference to the canopy line. Whats up with those numbers ??????????????????

RE: field charging lipos
Walmart sell a Regulated 2000watt Hyundai for $500 here in Canada . Ive been using one for the last two years with no problems. It's the 62db low noise type with Eco mode so it runs a slow as possible for the given charge rate. I charge anywhere from 10 - 15 amps, charge time 20-30 min (and yes my gene is usually at the front of the truck also )
ORIGINAL: xrboss It's not that I think they will fail, it's the slop that can develop with time that I want to prevent.
I honestly would not worry about the hinges. They are fine. Who's to say others won't wear. Theres no written guarantee for any hinge, that it won't wear out. Just fly the nuts out of your Vanquish and enjoy it . It's a great flying plane!

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
Looks like some solid numbers to me, nice report! I've only flown mine with the 20.5x14.5. What would one be looking for with the other prop? From my experience, a little more power and a lower gear for the up lines. I do believe that you can keep the throttle reduced a little more with a bigger prop and the good runtime numbers prove it. Seems like most guys at my altitude are running 22x12 at about 3300 watts 90 amps about 6200 rpm and loving the power. Also........... This plane lands like a butterfly....I hit the center line all but once. How many of you guys fly with your throttle trimmed up to an idle ?? Curious

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
Ran some numbers with the Silver Bullet and a Falcon 21x14 v2 75 amps @ 6300 rpm and about 2850 watts. Run times are very good with batteries sitting about 30- 35 percent remaining For a 7.5 min flight in windy conditions. Very nice combo. Flight is slow and very steady. Official weight is 10.87 lbs / 4390.5 grams . Curious to know what a 22x12 would perform like ?

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
ORIGINAL: danamania Well now you have! Â Yeah, I learn something new everyday hanging around pattern pilots LOL! Why not try it on your Vanquish and see if landing accuracy improves? The effect is very different from that achieved with the prop at idle (or the effect with ESC braking), and is not so much about slowing the airplane down as dumping a little bit of excess lift. For downlines, I have a 3% bottom throttle to down elevator mix (which is reversed when the air brakes are deployed as I don't want this mix for landings). P.S. EDF pilots use a little bit of spoileron mix (usually with flaps) to add washout and decrease tip stall risk at high AOA during approach to landing.
I watch guys at our field land on a dime without a mix or modes. Thats why Im confused. The less modes....the less mixes....the less problems. JMTC Curious...whats your flight surfaces set at ?? On my Helios I added slight down aileron (about 1- 2 degrees because it's fixed incidence) to reduce pulling to the canopy and it slowed my plane down ...big time. It gave it a very nice feeling in flight too.
