RE: need new engine !!!!
I have the Mamba .21 in my buggy and it's a great engine, not as good as my V-spec but still an excellent mill. Just remember, if you get the Mamba it takes about 2 gallons of fuel to break it in and it is a pain in the first stages of break-in and make sure that you either pre-heat before starting or you have a strong starter box because the Mamba is tight.

RE: Axe Rossi Mamba .21 Break-in
ORIGINAL: rologti Hi, I send a mail to AXE ROSSI asking how the break in should be done...and they anwer me the following (it's true, the break in is really long!!!) ENGINE BREAKING IN INSTRUCTIONS AXE Rossi high performance engines must be correctly broken-in for maximum performance and life! Rushing this process can result in premature engine failure. The carburetor of our AXE Engines is set at the factory at a rich setting for an easy start of the engine. The factory initial setting is the following: Main needle 3.5 turn open from closed position – Idle needle 2.5 turn open from closet position. For a good break-in run the engine while the car is sitting off the ground at that rich setting for 3-4 tanks and then for the next 3-6 liters (1-1,5 gallons) run it on the ground at a low speed and gradually speed it up while you progress through each tank and leaning the high speed needle 1/8th of a turn at a time until it runs close to peak performance. Please don't take short cuts and run less tanks. Make sure the engine stays within a reasonable temperature range 110-120°C (230-248°F) and make sure you see a good amount of blue smoke coming out of the exhaust throughout the throttle range to insure you are not running the engine overly lean. Do not run the engine too lean or you will over heat it and cause permanent damage to the internal components of the engine. Remember always run the engine with a clean air filter. FUEL The fuel is very important for the run of the engine. The correct fuel needs to contain: NITRO 20-30% Synthetic Oil 6-8% Castor Oil 2-3% Axe Rossi recommends the following Fuel brands: AXE by ROGA ROGA BYRON O’DONNELL
I haven't been on here in quite awhile so I thought I'd stop by and update everyone since I started the conversation, I finally got my Mamba running right following the above suggestions from Axe that rologti posted and completed the break-in (which is insanely long) and my Mamba has been running like a raped ape ever since, I still prefer my V-spec but the Mamba is an excellent engine, just a pain to break-in.

RE: difference between X1 crt and X1X crt?
ORIGINAL: phattracker There are very small differences between the 2. 16mm bb's, better servo saver, ball bearing brake cams, the wing. Everything from a X1X will fit a X1. I think Jammin was just trying to market something old with new details. Just to keep interest up i the brand before the release of the X2. IMO. But if I were to put the 16mm bb's on my X1 then it would be a X1X, see? Don't sweat which one you have, just be glad you own a Jammin X1 CRT!!!!!!!!
You forgot the most important difference, the chassis is different, the X1X is longer and the engine sits forward more.

RE: bad day
Well, your story makes me feel better about my day at the track last friday, I went to do my practice laps and got about 10 laps in on my Jammin' buggy and then it decided that the clutch bell didn't need it's teeth anymore and I didn't have a spare with me so I had to switch to my Violator buggy and I got about five laps on it and I came down off of a double and the buggy stopped dead in it's tracks right in the middle of the track, when I got to the buggy to inspect nothing appeared wrong so I put it on the starter box and fired it up and right away noticed that the fornt wheels and rear wheels were spinning in opposite directions so I opened the center diff only to find that it was absolutely destroyed, shavings and bits everywhere. Oh well, fixin em is part of the fun I guess.

RE: .21 engines in Truggies
I have an OS .21 V-spec in my CRT pro with a 13T clutch bell, a rackwerks speed 3 clutch and a JP-3 pipe using an OS P3 turbo plug and it is plenty for such a heavy truggy. It comes off of corners like a bat outta hell with plenty of legs for a decent sized straight.

RE: Truggy vs buggy
I remember when CEN first hit the market and all of the issues and growing pains they had but look at them now. You just have to be patient and give these companies time to R&D there products in actual races and real world environments. I am sure that the current Caster is much better than the previous one and I plan on finding out for myself by buying a kit in a few weeks.

RE: Violator 9.5 a good truck or bad
You have to cut off the outer hinge pin holes on all of the arms and then you have to replace the front cva's and rear dogbones with shorter ones, ones from the hyper will work as well as the ones from the ravager. You also have to put a legal .21 in it for ROAR events. I have made mine completely race legal except for the engine. A word of warning though, once you narrow it it is much easier to flip it over on tight turns. Stock it is 330mm and once you cut it down it is 310mm, that 20mm makes a big difference in handling, it makes it turn tighter but also flip easier.

I usually wait a few days to clean it in case I want to run it again, I just put some ARO in it and let it sit on the stand. After I clean it I might run it on road a few times, otherwise I just run one of my other models.

I have JP-1's on both of my buggies and a JP-3 on my truggy and I love all of them. The JP-1 has insane low end and the JP-3 is an excellent all around pipe. I have not run other pipes but I would highly recommend JP pipes.

RE: Truggy vs buggy
If you were going for the kit I would say the Jammin but since you are going for the RTR get the Hyper. The Jammin RTR is a good truck but it is nothing compared to the kit. The Hyper is lighter and it's RTR is well built.

RE: Truggy vs buggy
ORIGINAL: YourDogg well whats the difference with stadium trucks and can any1 sugest some models that i should look at? the raze you say isnt a racer why? is it not fast?
A truggy is a truck based off of a buggy, it has longer arms and beeffier suspension and bigger tires than a stadium truck, it also has a buggy wing on it. The raze is not a racer because it needs too many upgrades to be a competitive racer such as radio and servos, engine, pipe, suspension, etc. As far as suggestions it depends on how much you are willing to spend. The Kyosho ST-RR, Mugen MBX5T, Jammin X1 or X2 CRT, Xray, and the Lost 8ight-T are all excellent high end truggies. If you want something a little cheaper you can go with a Hyper ST , a LSP, or a TTR-ST1.

The zip ties leave ugly a@@ marks on the head once you take them off anyway so you might as well let it get scratched. It's going to happen regardless.

The rustler and the jato are not truggies, they are stadium trucks. The Raze is a decent basher but not a racer. Whatever you buy make sure your LHS has good parts support for that brand and model.
