Super Tigre 60 bluehead
I recently acquired this engine it was attached to a Ultra Sport 60.As you can see it is a Super Tigre G60 Bluehead. It has a baffled and ringed piuston and came with the Perry carb and the pump.Did any of these come like that from the factory, and if so what do I need to know to run this engine. Also what mufflers might fit.Thank you for any help,I appreciate it very much.

RE: Vintage BH Sport Model
To H5606,i have definetely found that if elevator and or ailerons throws are to large or if you pull to much it will snap hard. And just to mention it mine looked like yours at one time to,but 4 yrs.and many flights have taken their toll.Still fly it regularly,am very comfortable with it and its fun.

RE: Comp ARF Valiant
OK you all I moved the CG back to the center of the wing tube and it is much better overall now. I have zero expo on down elevator. Great flying bird. Still dialing it in but I can see that it flies good already. Point and shoot, great knife edges, that anhedral seems to help like the Curare in the old days. It also looks better than most ships out there. I fly near sea level (60 ft) in the Seattle area.

RE: Comp ARF Valiant
Bryan Hebert did PM me and assured me to move the CG back fwd which I did and I will see what that does. He also mentioned using positive expo on down elevator. Never done that before and I will see if that suits me.

RE: Comp ARF Valiant
Had a few more flight attempts but my new YS is acting up, all deadsticks after a few minutes. I did move the CG aft by moving the battery aft of the wing tube on the vertical tank support, lightened spinner backplate, and 1 oz weight in the tail, so CG is probably just aft of the wing tube aft edge. Needed less down in inverted and all the tracking including up and KE still great. Maybe this will affect my spins/snaps? Too soon to tell. I PM's Bryan Hebert but no feedback yet.

RE: Comp ARF Valiant
Here are pictures of my new Valiant after it's maiden flight a few days ago. I had the CG just aft of the center of the wing tube yet it needed 10 clicks of up to maintain straight and level flight. Therefore needed more down than usual on inverted. I had only one flight and am breaking in a new YS170DZ with an 18.1x10W APC. Not much time yet on it but a few more checks were done: Hardly any aileron trim needed Pulls straight up without any deviation, no pitch or yaw Down line will need slight down trim with idle as advertised in the manual Knife edges seemed good both ways without any significant pitch or roll though need more time to evaluate Should I move the CG even more aft? That is what my experience tells me though it is contrary to the manual and where Hebert says the CG should be. My next try will be with a slightly more aft CG and go from there. Gorgeous bird and it looks like it will fly very well overall.

RE: F3a The Future
Randy those are the FAI rules simple as that. And if relaxed things would get out of hand in a jiffy. Again....if you do not like it switch to IMAC! There you can fly 40 lb monsters.

RE: F3a The Future
I do sincerely hope that pattern of the future i.e. FAI continues respecting the 5 kg 2m by 2m limit. That is all. If you want to fly bigger planes go to IMAC.

RE: help with identifying newly acquired plane
I am not acquainted with the fellow you mentioned,if he flies control line he wouldn't be at the field where i go as its stritcly r/c.I usually fly in the early afternoon as most people have left for the day, gets pretty hot by then, but i sometimes have the entire field all to myself.

RE: help with identifying newly acquired plane
The plan for now is to strip and repaint,it has a lot of small places where the paint has been sanded and needs some repairs on the wing and stabilizer edges. The idea of retracts is very alluring, just not sure if i want to start cutting into the wings, still thinking about it though. As for its actual identification the best i can determine along with the help from here is that it is a Vertigo II.Now i need the specifications on control throws,CG.etc.

My US 40 has a magnum .61 2 stroke with an apc 11x6 and its way to damn fast for these old eyes.Tried an apc 12x6 and is only marginally slower.

RE: OS 33GT Gasoline Engine for Pattern
Sorry Matt I know you are trying to close this thread but I finally scanned through the whole thing focusing on all your comments. Great job and kudos to you working through all the kinks with this new product! Your early frustrations (with OS support) showed but I am impressed by your persistance and knowledge and making it work. Your Aesthesis looks very nice. FUEL: I am still using wet fuel for pattern power and will only stop if there is no more fuel on the planet. I am environmentally very conscious though not to the minute scale that RC represents in the grand scheme of things. I have flown all the 4 strokes up to the YS160DZ so far and will be breaking in a brand new YS170DZ this spring.

RE: unknown plane
it appears that it was only made for fuel as there is no provision to acces a battery,no instructions or any thing about it.the reason i took it was the price was very right,so i thought i would just fool around with it and see what happens.going to use a magnum .61 4 stroke on it.

RE: unknown plane
thanks for the feedback,i only used the u can do as it looked similiar as far as the fuselage.but anyway i am going to use it for pattern style flying practice,so the controls will be set up on the low side as they are huge. it is quite light so i am going fuel with a good running magnum 61 4 stroke that i have.will just have to see what happens.thanks again

RE: Futaba 10CAG or 8FGA
Thank you for your reply guys. Just wanted to make sure I did not miss anything. Is that what you do Arch or do you flip a switch?

Futaba 10CAG or 8FGA
Which one of these may (or not) have the following programming feature? A snap condition where without having to flip a switch one gets preset snap throws on the ail/elev/rud at full stick deflecetion whereas when they are only moved individually to their max positions the throws are back to their normal flight max throws. I currently still fly a Futaba 9CAP though never found something like that in the program.
