RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
You will just have to gear a tooth or two and the larger tires won't be a problem. With the 1/10 tires and the Orion Baja there will be a big increase in speed.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
ORIGINAL: w98seeng I bought an RC18B, lightly used and I have a few questions. 1) I use it mainly on the street as the tires are too low to allow grass use (We do not have any dirt around here to use as a track), so what tires will get it off the ground and keep its great handling? 2) What motor can I get that will give me better speed than the stock 370 motor? Price is important at this time, so please, no brushless suggestions. What about [link=http://www.maxxtraxxusa.com/Team_Orion_Baja.cfm]THIS[/link] one? 3) Are there any good stores in the Montreal area that carry parts for this buggy? Canadian Online stores would be OK too. Many Thanks for the help, Ian
1 - Some RC18MT tires would be good since they are slightly larger. You could also get some 12mm adapters and run 1/10 TC wheels/tires. 2 - The Orion Baja is a great choice. 3 - www.thetoyz.com is a great place to get parts for the RC18 series. They carry many parts that can't be bought anywhere else.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
RPM is a conpany that make parts that are a plastic/nylon blend. They are VERY strong and if you break them they will replace it for free. MIP is a company that makes various driveline parts for many cars. CVD or Constant Velocity Shafts are much stronger then dog-bones and reduce slop in the drive train. DP stands for Driven Productions you can only get their parts from Ebay or www.thetoyz.com

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
Yes you are right. I just scored a RC18T with a Futaba ESC, Losi Insane motor, DP Gear Cover, Dirt Hawgs on RPM Rims, Alloy Steering, and the stock motor.

RE: Help newb pick 1/18 offroad truck
Aftermarket parts for the XTM Rage are VERY $$$ and there isn't that much. I got one for $50 and it should be here tomorrow but my friend wants it so I'm selling it to him.

RE: OFFICIAL RC18MT/B/T THREAD
Start off with RPM Arms, Shock Towers, and Bumper. Then you will need to get some MIP CVD's, Steel Diff Gears, DP Gear Cover, DP Draglink, TheToyz Alloy Steering Bellcrank. Get it all from www.thetoyz.com

RE: Newb needs guidance
The RC18T is much better than the Mini-LST2 because. It is faster even though it uses 1 motor(2 motors just increases acceleration). You don't need to get as many upgrades to have a beastly RC18T as you do a Mini-LST2. Plus you only have to get 1 1/18 servo vs. 2 1/18 servos or a 1/10 servo and a $90 1/10 servo kit for the Mini-LST2.

RC18T. Stock you won't need steel diffs but once you go BL you can get Steel Diffs.

RE: Newb needs guidance
Stat away from the Lst the diff are horrible and the servos suck. Get a rc18t or a Vendetta ST.

RE: The Beater Builds Thread
I wouldn't sell the Rustler to get a Slash. They are going to jump alike and you will most likely got bored of the Slash too.(after a long time) Once I get my RC18MT I'm going to start making it a great basher.

RE: Sprained my ankle... joy...
You are VERY luck you didn't break it. I broke my leg and it was a HORRIBLE thing to go though. The immediate pain wasn't anything compared to being on crutches for over 3 months, weeks or PT (Physical Therapy at 5:45 AM before school), not walking the same (ankle does feel the same and it's slightly "boe-legged"). Oh I can't forget the 70% chance that in a year I'm going to have to get my leg/ankle broken again and reconstructive surgery. (because I cracked and shifted my growth plate at such a young age (14 years) and I have much more growing to do). Good luck on your recovery.

RE: Pede/Rustler or RC18MT
I'm pretty sure if I got an Exotek Slipper and the steel gears I wouldn't have any gear problems. If I got a slash I would end up getting a normal ST body because I like how it looks more.

RE: LIKE to keepBestr race mini?
It's ok to type slower. I can't understand what you are asking but 4WD is better then 2WD on surfaces with less traction.

RE: Pede/Rustler or RC18MT
Mine had RPM Bumper, RPM Hubs, Bearings, Alloy Tie Rods (Traxxas). I've seen that video and I love how durable they are but to get speeds near that I would have to get a bl system so that would be at least an extra $140.

RE: Pede/Rustler or RC18MT
My past rustler was VERY far from problem free. My friends pede had to become almost all RPM to finally take the beating that we gave it. The RC18MT is all around cheaper and around x-mas I might get a slash.

I've made a decision. I'm going to the the RC18MT now and then by x-mas I'll have a better charger for the Slash.

RE: Pede/Rustler or RC18MT
I was going to get some Ener-G 4600s. I don't want to get a crappy 3000 when for about $10 more I can get a much better pack.

RE: Official Mini-T Thread
It can handle more power then the stock diff and you can adjust it. I would get a MIP one over a Losi though.

If I get a Pede/Rustler/Slash then I will have to get a new charger since mine can only charge up to 3 amps using AC.
