RE: Plane Cleaning
Simple green is a great product to clean the covering. No need to use full strength.Use 1/8 of simple green in average size windex bottle fill te rest of the bottle with water. If you have a lot of oil on the covering use a 1/4 of the product.

RE: What causes a brownout?
I have 2 giant planes i fly using ar7000 receivers i use 4.8 receiver packs one 1400mah the other 1100 mah have never had an issue both these planes highly used for three years now. These are nicad packs. If you are not using high high torque servos should be no problem.Using 6 volt packs will give you a little more speed on the servos.

RE: Futaba has been busy lately.....
I used to be a futaba guy.I still have 4 tx sitting here in my shop.I had purchased a 6exa futaba in my second year of using it,by the way this is the megahertz version i had 2 hits at the field i was flying at.Fortunately i was able to get my plane back to earth safely.I brought my equipment back to the campground where i am a seasonal camper.Took my plane out behind my trailer turned my equipment on no problem for the first 3 minutes then all of a sudden my rudder.ailerons, elevator were all twitching. At that point i had enough i decided to go to 2.4.I left Futaba went with Spektrum and have never looked back The DX7 has worked flawlessly never had a single glitch.I am in my 4th year of using it.I know some guy;s who fly copter and planes that have had no issues at all! No brand bashing here just telling the facts.

RE: Eneloop NIMH Receiver Packs
In my large planes i am using NIMH in transmitter only.I still use NICD for receiver packs 4.8 volts.I do not use 6.0volt packs.I don't run high high torque sevos and i don't do 3d flying.I use 1500mah NIMH tx and 1400mah Nicd in rx.

RE: Spektrum vs. Futaba?
I haveused used my DX7 three years now starting into my 4th never had a glitch.I fly 2 giant planes on this tx no problem. There are times individuals do not keep up on their equipment properly. And some who do not read the manual.I do believe possibly in time Spektrum will pull away from the pack they sure are trying hard and ,are showing good strides.

RE: what is the best RC transmiter out there?
I switched from futaba to Spektrum DX7 2yrs ago love the system never had a glitch. Also know 3 other guy's as well never a problem.I like the xtra goodies spektrum has over futaba.Model match is just 1 of the many features.Receivers are cheaper plus 20 model memory. You can fly bnf models, electric, medium nitro, large gassers, helis all on this one radio.

RE: NITROS SUCK BAD!! WOW, REALLY BAD!!!
Hey uncle vinnie truer words have never been spoken.I am like you a fly electric for gym flying in the winter months.Nitro is #1 as far as i am concerned. The smell the noise it's awesome.Electric can't even compete. You find with some of these electric guy's can't handle anything that has a bit of work to it.If they new how to tune an engine properly they would probably switch over in a minute.

RE: Don't need no stinkin' after run oil!
I always use marvel mystery oil after every run of my engines 2 stroke.I have never had a problem with rust. Then in the winter months i load them up good with this oil.Remember nitro methane absorbs moisture.Do not be afraid to put a good dose of oil in the engine in flying season after each run. This oil burns off quickly and will protect that engine from humidity and keep rust free.
