RE: AMT AT 280 Thrust?
My original AMT Pegasus was set around 112000. AMT dude took it in, balanced and checked it over and raised the max RPM to 117,400. This engine is wonderful and has unbelievable power, over 36 pounds now. I have been running it for a few years with no issues. I just installed it in my new EuroSport and can't wait for the maiden. These babies are almost bulletproof. I have 2 180's, 1 Pegasus, and a new Olympus. Good motors! Ron

RE: NightHawks RC Club
Hi guys, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it this year as I'm 2 and a half weeks out of my knee replacement surgery. I have a few more months of PT and hopefully everything will be back to normal. I'm walking with a cane now and was able to go out to my shop for a few minutes yesterday. I always had a good time at the Nighthawks jet meet and I hope everyone has a good time.. I planning to attend OC turbo fest in late September if everything goes well.. See everyone soon, Ron D

RE: Fresno 2012 Jet Rally, no turbines?
ORIGINAL: fxvtol Ianober-  Ianober-    I don't hate the turbine guys, I just want to clear my good name and attitude. 1 Two years ago at Fresno Jets me and another club member name Scott volunteered our time to weldtogether and paint tables for the Fresno jet event. 2 As a machinist by trade me and an engineer builded a turbo craft U– 22 jet engine. This is long before jet cat wren AMTect. The engine did not run very well because we did not have an electronic fuel control system for it.    I don't have the expense to fly a $5000 jet 2500for the engine 2500 for the plane and accessories. In other words don't fly more than you can afford to lose.    This jet event is for the Joe jet six pack crowd.     I stand behind with John and Tom and said and I think everything has been said and I think it's about time to close this thread.     P. S.  If I've been posting too much it's probably because of my new iPad 3 with voice recognition technology. I hate typing. Al
"A jet event for the Joe six pack crowd"? I just spent a week at Kentucky Jets and there were jets of every price range, turbine and electric. Everyone had a good time. NO class warfare there. Yes, you do have a problem with turbine flyers.....
ORIGINAL: jimmac AS for our health care system is based on the principal of universal health care.
Yea I understand the premise. I meant a nationalized government run health care system. The private sector can and does do it better.
ORIGINAL: jimmac regardless of your income or background....
Your wrong here, what your system does is create a larger demand on a diminishing supply. It's why you have to wait days and weeks and months for appointments and procedures. Many patients with the means bypass your and Canada’s healthcare system and come to the states for treatment because they know the can get care now not later. Additionally we have a healthcare plan for those who cannot afford private health insurance it’s called Medicade .
ORIGINAL: jimmac I think any human regardless of their nationality wants to refuse to have universal health care for all the people in their country are no more better than the people who carry out genocide for whatever pitiful reason they do.
Think what you want. What I think is this is a stupid statement the two are in no way analogous. Darren
Okay, would this happen in the UK or Canada? I totaly screwed up my knee on vacation and then I went to a jet-fly where it was so bad, I had to get a golf cart to go to and from the Flight line to the set up tents and my RV. (I couldn't miss Kentucky Jets)I called on Wednesday (July 11, 2012 and got an appointment the following Wednesday (July 18, 2012). I saw one of the top orthopedic surgeons in Pittsburgh and am scheduled for a full Knee replacement on August 8th. Excactly 4 weeks from first visit to surgery. My company Health care plan had no issues, and will cover nearly all of the charges. I am looking forward to being able to being active again with no pain. I will be 53 tomorrow. What kind of waits would I expect in the Uk or Canada? Will my company still provide health care as part of my salary package? Well, as the former speaker of the house said,"We have to pass health care law to know what's in it" I want no part of it........................

RE: Replacement for JR 4131 Servo
ORIGINAL: turnnburn I agree on primary flight surfaces, i use digitals whenever possible. I dont see the need or the advantage for using them on non primary flight surfaces like flaps, speed brakes etc etc.. in this case these are the flap servos on my 11 plus year old BVM 60'' F-86.
"Non Primary FLight Surface like flaps". I consider the flaps one of the most primary and essential of flight surfaces. Just how fast can you retract the other flap if one servo fails, on final. I always put the best servos here. Ask me how I know, although the servo did not fail, I had a linkage fail ( my fault). The aircraft was in the trees before I even had a chance to react. Ron

RE: Jets Over Kentucky Week 2012 /
Lewis, As usual, I had a great time at 2012 Jets over Kentucky and I am already looking forward to next year. The only problem I had at the meet was my sore knee which made it difficult to get around. Thanks to Lewis and Eric and everyone else who gave me rides in the Golf carts. Also, thanks to everyone who spotted for me over the week I was there. Saturday flying at 0700 was great, i was able to get in 5 flights by 0900 that day. I had around 50 flights with my Velox and Tsunami with 22 gallons of fuel burned. The trip home was an adventure as my transmission in my van went belly up about 40 mile out from the meet, outside of Lexington. My Van, trailer and Jets are still in Kentucky at the Towing and auto repair Facility, thankfully behind a fenced in area. I had to rent a car to get back to Pittsburgh for my Knee Doctor's appointment (and work). the repairs should be done by Friday and i will drive back down to bring everything home. But I still had a good time!! Ron

RE: Help diagnosing AMT flameout (pics)
ORIGINAL: Ruizmilton Since you have a 2channel ECU, did you check no other switches are influencing your 3 position turbine start/stop/shutdown channel? I know it sounds obvious, did the shutdown occur after raising retracts or flaps? Just checking, you said you heard the turbine spool down, if it was a slow spool down it was not an air bubble...
That is similar to what happened to me when I switched from Futaba 72 to a 2.4 JR 9303. I had the 2nd channel controlling the ECU on the slider on the left hand side of the TX. what i didn't know was that the ECU was seeing the "normal shutdown mode (Middle position)" almost next to the "run" position on the slider. I had flown alot of flights with my Sport Jet Hurricane all summer and never had a problem. On the second flight after switching to the new Radio, the Turbine shut down after a low pass and needless to say a had to land way down the runway and broke both wing panels during landing. The Turbine checked okay on the ground, but I did notice if i just touched the slider, not moved it, I would get the second beep for normal shutdown mode. I just installed the Pegasus in my new EuroSport and now i set the ATV on the second channel to 125% high and low and everything is checking out okay...

I went to your website to find further information but there is none. When I place my vote for anything I research both sides of the issue and don't blindly say I do.
In a nutshell: to create swamplands that will render the whole area non accessible to humans. In theory it should be a park, but once you read the proposal from EBRPD, you can see they are designing it to keep humans away. For example, the hiking trail is by the road track, the entrance is on the opposite side from where people leave, so they need to drive 3 miles to get to a park that was originally on their back yard The EBRPD is desperate to start ASAP to avoid public backlash. They only have 1M out of the 8M they need, and the Environmental Assessment has not been completed. We sent a response to their environmental assessment and we have been ignored. They want us out by june even though they are not ready from a design, funding and permits point of view I'll be glad to send you via email our response to their environmental review.
