ORIGINAL: flycatch I for one won't make concessions and I'll stay with the gas and glow burners. If you were there and watched them fly these airframes you might have changed your mind. These were the same bunch of individuals who banned helicopters at the flying site saying they were too dangerous. That was three years ago and I was one of those helicopter pilots. RE: Is Rcuniverse going down the tubes?
lol, its plain as day what the problem was it wasn't RCU's fault it was YOURS! look at the times submitted you clicked too many times. My advice to you, call your CC company tell them you clicked a website too many times, and got multi charged, they will take the excess charges off your account.

RE: FAKE DHL missed delivery e-mail
I get them from USPS, and various other companies Come on people use your noggins if you didn't buy something from sears.com don't open the "sears" e-mail saying click here to schedule a delivery. If your worried about a possible theft(which you probably should be with an e-mail like that) go check your credit card statement.

I have never had a probelm with this site that the select few of you keep complaining about. I suggest you install the newest web browsers my advice is to go with Firefox, google chrome has troubles with certain websites, and internet explorer seems overall bad. Also you should delete your cookies, cache, and maybe your oeverall history to free up of that garbage space. If you dont know how to delete cookies google "how to delete cookies (instert browser name)".

RE: Screw vs Bolt
ORIGINAL: scale only 4 me Come on, that's easy,, A Engine is a Motor,, but a Motor isn't always an Engine
that pretty much sums it up for me a bolt vs screw is machine thread vs other but according to Oxford dictionaries its
bolt1 Pronunciation: /bəʊlt/ noun 1a large metal pin, in particular: a bar that slides into a socket to fasten a door or window. a long pin with a head that screws into a nut, used to fasten things together. the sliding piece of the breech mechanism of a rifle. Climbing a long pin that is driven into a rock face so that a rope can be attached to it.
so I guess anything that could have a nut tightened on it is technically a "bolt"

RE: HOBBY king going down the tube?
yeah, i would say that the damage was purely cosmetic and you should count yourself lucky to even get a credit... think of it like this, its YOUR business and in the midst of you personally putting 100 plane kits together to meet the 3:00 shipment deadline(because thats when phil from UPS stops by) you accidentally start packing boxes faster then what they should and scuff the wing tip like that, are you going to give them a $10 credit or $100 in shipping, time, product and lose all your profit from that day? just sayin...

RE: Old Biplane Flight
yes, but it will only be as good as the craftsmanship from the first go around, but the wood and joints should be fine if they have been stored correctly and there is no mold or mice living in it

Realflight G6
So I picked this up, and am having a lot of fun with it, except I am wanting to adjust the size/scales of certain planes like the cub for example a .40 is nice and dandy. But I want to make it into either a 1/4 or 1/3rd scale and I can't for some reason get the editor to actually do what I want can someone point me in the right direction.

RE: Building a Dynaflite Super Decathlon
I really don't understand why you would be doing flat spin and stall maneuvers at such a low altitude on a plane that you obviously are having problems with. Especially seeing how it looks like your still having troubles with the take off and precision maneuvers, no offense. I am sure your decent pilot and have flown a lot of planes, but it seems like all your crashes are pilot error and not the aircraft/mechanics. Hopefully you do not get too discouraged and give up on building, I am hoping your motor makes it threw this landing and you keep us updated on your success with your next project.

RE: DUMB ASS ATTACK TODAY
yeah, them APCs are super freaking sharp! i cut my finger just by flipping it with just the compression resistance(no, I was not trying to start it by hand)... I personally do not like APCs just because I have a fear of getting cut by them, in the shoulda coulda woulda realm the damage to your finger probably wouldnt have been so bad if you had used a wood or a master screw prop. Cant really say for sure because we dont know the RPMs of the prop and where the finger got placed in there and how much force your finger was making to keep it in place.

RE: building an indoor race track for minis/micros
22x14 isnt exactly all that large of a track space, but for something this size http://www.raidentech.com/mircunstmiar.html even the hottest of motors and gearing the space allotted would be pretty fun, the micro 1/24th size would probably fit that area pretty nicely as well depending on how extravagant the track gets http://www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0243 also check out the 1/36th scale just a tad bit bigger then the first link but a whole lot more expensive http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdId=LOSB0230

RE: Painting Solartex fabric
ORIGINAL: Gray Beard
ORIGINAL: Bundubasher I've been using Solartex and the other ''tex'' type materials for the past 30 years plus - it is my covering of choice, whilst fuel may not go through to the wood, the black oil residu from the engine stains the material and it loses its look. If you seal it, it stays nice. In the last 10 years I have covered 1 3rd scale Cub, 1 3rd scale Tiger Moth, 1 3rd scale Piper Arrow II, 1 Fly Baby, 1 Xtra 300s, 1 Stadaucher, 1 3rd Scale Gee Bee Model Y, I 3m Nietoperz, 1 Proctor Parasol, 5 x 1.8m - 2m wing Stiks, 1 Cloud Dancer with Solartex and Oratex, just to name a few... If you want to keep the plane looking sharp, you have to seal it from the outside. If not, even the seems will peel. Cheers Bundu
...I have been building planes sense 1956 but all it means is I'm an old man now. I could have been building poorley and crooked for all these years too....
LOL! I love it, 56 years worth of crooked janky planes... "ARRRG! all these kits stink! all my planes come out wonky!" ^_^ too funny

RE: Has there ever?
ORIGINAL: topspin Now I wait until the real modelers have had a chance to weigh in and give the real low down on performance. Then I'll buy if the word is good.
Sooo, what happens when nobody buys it, or "reviews" it on forums, do you just not buy it, or do not go a LHS and inspect your self? If everyone was like you nothing would get done lol. I honestly have never had a structural failure happen mid flight, or hanger rash from poor building quality from an ARF, and prob have flown/owned close to 12 of them. Granted all the flying and building was done about 10 years ago, and things do change so I can't really comment on how they are now(just assembled a tower razor 3d and waiting to maiden). But like someone who had posted some random thought somewhere in this forum, 95% of crashes are pilot error, and I can attest to that personally. Just because it's not a kit dose not make it any better or worse it just means you didn't build it. There is a certain satisfaction in building your own from a box of sticks and that's why I do it, but I am not going to blame companies for other peoples preferences.
