RE: This could not have happened at a worse time...
I have said it over and over again.WE can argue over who is at fault, why it happened, make jokes etc.ONE DAY something very nasty very well may happen. That THING is that the Feds,at some point and in whatever capacity is going to get involved in the sport.Carbon credits not withstanding.WE face the profound possibility of regulation and control at the FED level.Licensing, paperwork, airframe inspection and certification, competency tests and all the rest of it.I hope this never happens...but ....it could if we as a community dont handle our business like we should.thx.

RE: You Funny RcJets!
I read an expose about the Iranian F14.....they have completely rebuilt the acfts they have and rewired them to carry Russian munititions, rockets and missles as well the ability ti carry thier own designs as well.the Tomcats are now fitted with Russian engines. The Iranians back engineered the parts they needed and developed methods to fabricate them inhouse. The article stated the acft are at near zero hour airframe time after the rebuilds.the radar package is russian also.Seems they still find good use for the old girls....too bad we did not.

RE: BVM ELECTRA CRASH WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED?????????
This venue is an open forum with rules already posted. No ones approval for posting any issue is needed as such. With all respects to Mr Bueschler his "approval" is not required, nor is it "required" from anyone to start any thread. An acft was destroyed while in flight, while maybe some postings may be viewed as "edgy"...the overall purpose is to determine the cause and any potential flight risk that can be avoided by sharing info.HATS OFF TO MR.BUESCHLER FOR FESSING UP AND STATING QUITE CLEARLY THE CAUSE OF THE ACFTS DEMISE.I believe "crashmaster" is as much out of order as the "edgy" statements.

RE: BVM ELECTRA CRASH WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED?????????
Seems to me a few question reguarding the incident is fair to have,as we all want to know if any safety issues are abound so we can act accordingly. But i do believe in staying on point and not fall into a "feeding frenzy" on the issue. The man said he basically over geed the airframe....pilot/operator error.Sounds pretty clear to me.I see this incident as a oppurtunity to "check" ourselves in the manner which we fly, inspect our own aircraft. We are fortunate the acft came apart away from spectators.Could have been a serious incident...but it wasnt.Lets be mindful of how we handle our acft when heading toward the centerline when we are flying.Peersonally,i dont think B.V. finds any humor or benefit in this at all, most likely he is pissed...but i dont wan to put words in his mouth, but common sense tells me what manufacturer wants to have an incident like this with his products. If there are any issues with airframe strength i think B.V. will implement proper corrections. As for Dustin...bad deal man..sorry this happened, but a rate switch error can happen to anyone flying the edge.I think most jet flyers or flyers in general dont appreciate the requirement of performance flying cause they mostly fly fast laps. Very easy to have a good flight when your not doing anything but basics.Lets learn from this and have a safe good time guys and gals.My two cents.Thx.

RE: takeoff method foe a hornet
you need to have a positive incidence in the on the gear stance for models to get a good take off.full size jet get an "assistance" in rotation by the nose strut.the nose strut is pressurized in such a manner that as the nose of the jet gets light from unloading due to lift, the nose strut pushes upward on the nose to assist rotation.i have seen what happens to an fighter jet with a mal serviced nose strut an it will not properly rotate.that being said...properly sprung landing gear, especially nose strut is very important in large scale jets.in jets speed equals lift.a good ground run is needed to ensure enough lift is there for lift off at elevator application.i believe,a "leaping acft" is vulnerable to a stall condition.airspeed and momentum are surely lost at such an angle of attack with arguably minimum airspeed to begin with, and trying to recover this energy may be hard pressed if your turbine is in the lower thrust range of the design criteria.my two cents.thx.

RE: Will cheap EDF jets catch up to cheap Chinese Turbine kits?
Very well may be the case.I have noticed this as well.As battery and motor tech continue to improve so does the size of the acft....seems only natural.
