RE: 100MPH HPI RS4 3 EVO+ ????
I actually saw a LOSI bell on an RS4 with a 2 speed for the first time this sunday and it ran really good. He had it shifting at about a regular shift point. He had a 21 in it thought so that might have had something to do with it. I've been using the LOSi threaded bell but with only the 26 pinion for many years now. Never gave the 2 speed a shot. Might have to do so.

RE: 100MPH HPI RS4 3 EVO+ ????
ORIGINAL: Car-Tune I just received my Ofna 19/26 pinion gear so I quickly removed my engine to replace it an once I out it on and tried to mesh with the 37/41 spur gears and realized how 1st gear is only being scratched so meaning I will definetly strip as I would try to launch. I remove the Ofna grad and replace it with my HPIs, I go shower and I'm thinking and thinking how it would fit. I came up with an idea if 19/26 pinion will not work with 37/41spur maybe I can use a bigger spur to reach it. So as soon as I finish showering I run to the garage to try a bigger spur gear and BINGO!!! I tried a 41/47 spurs onto it and it was a perfect match. So instead of using spur gears by the set if 4, I would have to go by counts of 6. So I will be using 37/43spur gears and my great luck I do have a 43 in my tool box. Coming tomorrow I will be replacing all gearing and see what speeds I can get and will post vids too.
OFNA makes a 19/26? Which car is this from of the part number? If you dont mind sharing. Or is that the LOSI bell?

I'm hoping someone can chime in on this one. I've looked and couldn't find anything like that. It looks to be of quality though. At least if you can't get parts, the motor and pipe are well worth the paid price.

The Jato would be considered under the "open wheel IC" class under the ISC. I believe that there is no record for that class yet.
ORIGINAL: llkoolskillet Going fast does cost alot of money, I don't run this platform but man it sure is fun when you reach new milestones.
It all depends on what someone might consider "a lot of money". If youre talking about an entire new set up, then youre looking to spend a lot but since the Racer2 is far from a new model, I've found them as cheap as 40 bucks. Nice used motor with new conrod I can find sometimes for around 200, then gearing, servos, odds and ends. The cheapest I've built for myself was around 400 and the most expensive was a super nitro which was brand new in the box plus brand new motor, pipe and odds and ends was around 1500.

Nice. Marc Davidson would be the one to beat with his 120mph nitro camaro. After those numbers he put up, I focused all my attention to the large scales.

RE: 100MPH HPI RS4 3 EVO+ ????
Im not sure. The car with the 18 was originally a 21 powered 105mph car and I just dropped an 18 in it and gearing to match only 2 weeks before the event. Its hard to say now since the motor was taken back out right after I got back but it would be interesting to find out. If anyone out there would like to donate or loan me a fully modded 18TZ, I'd love to try. I still own the ISC car along with 3 more that are exactly like it.

We're more of a Bonneville Salt Flats kind of crew. As far as the 18 goes, I built a 95mph HPI with an 18TZ. It actually won and still holds the ISC record at 90mph for IC 4wd small block since 2009

What kind of speeds are you looking to get out of it Ziggy? Im guessing that will be in the IC open class. BTW, is there a difference between nitro and petrol classes in ROSSA?

RE: Oil
There are a lot of variables to the amount of oil youll be running. As Takoote stated, every scenerio has a different amount. Drag guys run a certain amount of oil because their motors are highly modded and rev high for a substained amount of time. Same thing with the boat guys. They run a certain amount because their motors are usually modded as well but hold high revs for a really long time. In the normal setting, we usually run stock to mild modded motors and are on and off the throttle.

Thanks for the pics petey. I couldnt find any of my own since I dont take many pics. [:D]. The only complicated part about the 3 speed is getting those shift points right but once theyre right, theyre right. I recall running it one time in a group of FG guys and the truck shifted, after about another 100 feet, it shifted again. Everyones jaw dropped. [X(]

As many members know, all of my RCs up until now have been built with off the shelf stuff. Well, this is way different. Just about everything on this rig was custom made in some way or another and of course with how complex it is, I had some help. Like to mainly thank Chris Bartolone from Bartolone Racing, Pete from RCBurnOut and my local CNC guy. And for those that might ask why, just because I can. [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Im impressed as to how much top end it has and still manages to do wheelies. You usually dont get a combination of both, specially in a large scale.

Yes, thats a super. Only HPI that would fit the Toyota GT1 was the super. I guess the car is either starting to make a come back or people are starting to offload them due to lack of parts on the market. This is the 3rd thread about a super that I've seen in the last couple of day.
