RE: 26cc gasser
ORIGINAL: jeffk464 I'm sure you can figure out a way to install your engine, but I think its designed to be mounted to a firewall. The p40 as is uses the beem mount type of engine installation like you see with glow engines.
hummmmmmmm I see oh well...maybe the P40 isnt the best one to use it

RE: 26cc gasser
the gasser I have has a rear mounted carb and wraparound pitts style muffler...so its not as wide as a side mounted carb gasser...should fit ok on a retangular cowl....I really like a P40 or Spitfire...my brother has the 90 size Hellcat already...I want something different...I dont care for the corsair much...how about an AT6 ? hell I was even considering the 120 Lancair....its not a warbird but its big and looks really nice...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!
almost lost my cessna today...after a great flight I started to inspecting the airplane I noticed a crack on the top of the wing between the aileron and flap...the wing is joined at that point...I removed the covering and its was pretty lose...one more flight and I guess would have broken up...so I epoxyed a fiberglass tape all around...on both wing panels...I ll fly tomorrow again

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!
I'm using a Fuji 24cc and I didnt have to add any weight...I had to move the rx batt 2500mah 6.0V to behind the servo tray next to the rear window plywood former in order to balance the airplane at 90mm CG,the total weight of the plane is 13 1/2lbs...
ORIGINAL: AirplaneMan04 I Epoxied my wings together for that reason because I did not like CMP's hardware and instructions on wing mounting with the center section. I made my wing one piece and it has held up fine and is much stronger with the epoxy.
me too...mine is glued all together with 30min epoxy

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!
WOW!!!!! first flight yesterday..... Great : very easy to fly,CG at 90mm PERFECT,lots of power using a FUJI 24cc Gasser, very big large in the air, landing lights and LED wing lights are great add-ons....I LOVE IT not so great : nose gear is bent and wheel pants cracked, replaced today with Robart Fork Robostrut, the rudder/elevator hardware CRAP,that cheap black cockpit its a joke overall I love it....this will last on my fleet for a while...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!
ORIGINAL: spyder0069 Also I mocked up my 25cc weedeater engine and since the cowl descends in the front the flywheel/magnito setup will not clear. [:o] I have a new BCMA 26cc engine on the way but they say 2 week lead time so I am kinda on hold. I always hate putting a project on hold.
let me know how the BCMA engine fits in the cowl?? I liked the PEak cause since the carburator is located behind the engine, the engine its narrower so maybe I dont need to cut the cowl...the BCMA you may have to cut the cowl to accomodate the carburator on the side...

RE: CMP Cessna 182 Building Thread-->the best scale Cessna 1.20 size ARF that is on the market!!!
well after reading all 7 pages...i came to one conclusion this plane is great if I use the 85mm CG,glue all three wing pieces together, and reinforce the rudder assembly, replace the nose gear I just ordered one from Nitroplanes and now I'm thinking about an engine...my first choice is the Supertigre G2300(great engine and even greater price) but now I'm thinking about a Peak 26cc gas engine with the rear carburator....any ideas?? suggestions?? the G2300 weighs 38.0 oz or 1077g RPM 2000 to 12600 Peak 26cc weights 1100g RPM 1500 to 9000 I want to give gas engines a try(never had one) so what you all think???
