RE: Can Carbon props be repaired?
For carbon props that delaminate at the times, I apply thin CA and then clamp for a day or two. It is usually dried and doesn't cause any problems.

TM-7 vs TM-8 Fasst Module
I had an interesting conversation with hobby services on friday. I asked about putting the TM-7 module in a 9C with the 7 channel FASST receiver and then in the future, installing the 8 channel FASST receiver and control the plane with the TM-7 TX module. WHat I was told is that the TM-7 will only allow for the use of 7 channels when the 8 channel receiver is released and used. I want to verify this for the final time before waiting for the TM-8 combo.

RE: Single vs. Dual Conversion - Need clarification
Let me see if I can remember. SIngle conversion RX will convery from 7mhz to the signal that is used to control the servos. Dual conversion will convery from 72mhz to 10.8mhz. Then from 10.8mhz to your servo control. This second step is used to give cleaner reception.

RE: FASST 7 Channel Module IN 9C
Bill, Quick question that may be slightly off topic. With the new 2.4ghz systems, can the RX and Ignition share the same pack if that pack has sufficient capacity and current handling capability to do the job? In other words, if I utilized a 3600maH pack with internal impedance of 4mohms or less, would there be a problem from electrical interference?

RE: Steve Kaluf and the AMA
Wow, I have read about 1/4th of the messages and there is a lot of love for Steve in the RC community. I will say this. I have been in management since 1988. I would not summarily terminate someone for insubordination. What I do see is that he asked all AMA HQ members to let the SIG drive. This will facilitate communication. What I don't know is if the request to have the grounds mowed is part of the SIG's responsibility. If so, then Steve was an example to deter further insubordination and to inform everyone that he was serious. I have done this in the past. It seems unfair but does get the point across. What I will surmise is that Jim failed to pull the team together to fully explain his actions and intent. This caused the misunderstanding between what he wanted and what Steve heard. In the same situation I "MAY" have done the same thing. What I would have done difference would be to put a letter of reprimand in Steve's personal file and then get everyone together to inform them of my intent and that a violator has been disciplined for not following directives.

RE: 2.4 Satifaction Poll
Bob, What system are you using?
ORIGINAL: aerobob Not correct; the modules are actually using the PPM ("FM") signal from the encoder. Requires you to set modulation at "PPM" in the TX, and this is faster than PCM rate in nearly all transmitters. It has a better response than I would have expected.
The 9Cap has several mixes that give warnings on power up. It seems you have enabled both directions of a switch with a mix that gives a warning on powerup. There is a way to bypass this but I don't remember what it is.

RE: H-9 33% Cap balance
Horizon will tell you that the plane is not made for an engine that is larger than 80cc. Now, if you had to fly straight and level with down elevator on a nose heavy plane then you have two issues. One is your CG.... this will cause you to land fast. Second is your plane has upthrust on your engine. Add down thrust on the engine. Move the CG farther aft.
ORIGINAL: DadsToysBG I asking this for a fellow club member. your Cap with a DA100. Has to have down elevator. Balanced nose heavy. Had a dead stick and the tail tried to swap ends, and even on landing has to use speed., it won't settle into a easy approuch. what do you think? Dennis
Believe them.... but it doesn't mean it is true [:D] Here is a link to using nodal. http://www.swarthmore.edu/NatSci/echeeve1/Ref/mna/MNA1.html Series resistance to DC power sources are not negated. With this said, the internal voltage loss is a function of current. Both of these are internet sources, but I will believe the one immediately above. Better yet.... Forget what I said, I should just let believe as they may. That is what I do [:D]

RE: Spektrum DX-7
Jim, I have heard this point mentioned often, but do not agree with it. If memory serves me correctly, when you use Nodal analysis, the battery is an open not a short. With that said, the current may be cut in half when using parallel packs but the effective resistance remains the same. I am going on 25 year old memory cells and could be wrong, but that is how I remember it. Packs in parallel will reduce the current by half, not reduce the internal resistance by half. If wrong, I do stand corrected.
ORIGINAL: GeeBeeJim Impedance is a very important, but often ignored point. It determines just how much of a load your pack will accept without browning out. And yes, running parallel packs cuts impedance in half. IE - Two 10 mOhm packs in parallel equals 5 mOhms. FYI - http://www.hangtimes.com/index.html is one of the few battery vendors that list impedance. The lower the better. > Jim
undefined

Send it to Hitec and they will service it for $15. If the case is bad they will usually take care of that for free. I find that the center pin in the case coauses the case to be replaced about 40% of the time. (2 out of 5)

RE: Improper break-in
A lot depends on the engine type. If it is ringed, then while a lean run will hurt the engine, it is not catastrophic. If it is ABC then I would say that you will never get the potential out of that engine.

If that was PCm, don't think it was a radio hit. Plane dipped and recovered but was loosing altitude. At that speed, didn't take long to hit the ground. Something did come off the plane or flew by the optics of the camera. Hard to tell. I would say something came loose and he didn't have enough control throw to save it. Great attempt though

RE: Beginner Question: What exactly is a battery cycler?
Wait a second. From what you have shown, you have a few bad or questionable cells. The cells that are 0.9 volts or higher should be fine. The others are suspect. The one that is 0.011 volts may be dead. You can try a cycler, but I would just purchase a new pack.
ORIGINAL: sf1 I am so sorry to ask this stupid question, I have been googling for hours I can't find the answer I hope people in here are friendly enough to answer. I have a 7.2V battery pack (6 batteries) in total, each one of them has different voltages, some at 1.2V, 1.1V, 0.6V, 0.011V, etc. I found some schematic on how to build a cycler, it has two terminals + and - to insert the battery pack Am I suppose to insert the 7.2V battery pack to a cycler and then each one of the battery will go to 1.1V? How is the cycler going to know the voltage of each one when the battery pack is in series??? Please help
RE: BME 100 fires, won't start!
Pull the carb cover and clean the screen. You may have to pull the carb and needles and clean all the orifices but just start with the screen. It should run after that. I have the BME and found that even with a filter inline and two in my tank, I still get dirt in the system.
