RE: Why Is 3D Hated?
People who 3D often make me jump off my chair and I have a bad leg. I hate it when my leg hurts. [:(] When I fly my Stearman with grace and style I don't cause pain to anyone. Do I?[:D]

RE: F3A MONOLOG 2X2 F3A METER
My 110 is on the way and should be here by the end of next week, so thanks 'andsky' for the help. BJ have a really friendly service and they were very willing to ship the kit directly to me since they don't have a dealer in Europe. I suppose other customers from Europe are quite welcome. I'll try to post some build pictures as soon as I have some free time to get my hands on it. For now here are the links for the manual and setup for the 110, they have sent me http://rcone.kr/board/index.html?id=bjreference1&no=5 http://rcone.kr/board/index.html?id=bjreference1&no=7

RE: F3A MONOLOG 2X2 F3A METER
Any way I could get a 110 to Greece? I have a 1.20 ax looking for a home. Options in this plane class are limited, if any, and the 110 is hard to find. Already checked f3aunlimited but no luck. Only saw it in rcwings.co.kr with a price tage around 305 euros plus shipping. No English on the web site and google didn't help much. If anyone knows were I could get one of those I'd really appreciate it.

Can you imagine an outlaw with a powerbox?!!!![:D] (PS. Delgatogrande took this picture seconds before I crashed. A friend was hovering his EG 50cc MXSR when I asked him to pull up a bit and passed underneath at full speed) At least this is going to be one to remember....

That's what I thought too. So much for them advertising it in their video that it can be installed without a regulator..... I'm just glad I didn't kill the poor man.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
My outlaw went down yesterday on the second flight The left elevon servo started acting out and before I managed to bring it in for landing it went into a right spin and crashed in a nearby field 30 feet from the man who was plowing it! I was very lucky no one was hurt. Upon inspection the airframe was undamaged, apart from a broken prop, but the left servo didn't follow the input from the transmitter. It would only center after a swift up and down motion or go down. There were no broken gears. My setup is as follows: Futaba 8FGH with futaba R617FS, Hobbico LiFe 1100 6.6V (non regulated) 2 (brand new) Hitec 5485 servos for elevon and a Hitec 485 for rudder. I've had over 30 flawless flights with the model with standard servos (Hitec 485) all around before I decided to change the two with their digital equivalent. I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong so any ideas would be much appreciated.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Hello everyone again. I maidened my second outlaw last week with a jen 37 with a purple pipe from just engines. I get 18,100 rpm running an 8x7 apc on 10% fuel. Does anyone else have any rpm numbers of this combo? The engine came run in from just engines and runs very smoothly throughout the rpm range with no bad habits. The needle valve is a bit sensitive but the engine is not hard to set up. I already have a gallon through it. The plane is not what I would call super fast but can be a lot of fun and worry free mainly due to the engine's reliability, it only quits when it has run out of fuel. Overall a much better combo than the old one with the rossi 53 on it.[:)]

I just used I piece of sponge to mount and then taped it with some duct tape inside the fuse. Nothing fancy but has worked just fine.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
I do have about 3 degrees down trim and I suspect that is the main cause of the nose over. Further more I have the robart wheels which have very soft tires even with the foam inserts installed, and they had flat spots where they touched the ground for a long time. What happened is the flat spots touched the oleos creating a breaking effect. Now I have brought the tires back to normal using heat and I only set the plane down on a stand. Yet it still wants to nose over. I have also tried take offs without flaps but that didn't have any significant difference either. Some people have suggested reducing down thrust but that would compromise the scale line of the spinner and the cowling so I ruled that one out. The mix I have programmed is 25% up elevator which gradually reduces to 0% just below half throttle. I just have to figure out the correct analogy for a smooth and not a 3D take off. Weather permitting I will spend this weekend doing that.

RE: FASST signal voltage compatability
A quick question: I'm planning to use the r617fs reseiver with hitec 7955 servos on a quique 86" yak. Do I need pulse booster cables? The servos say that require 3-5V but I can't find any info about the receiver. Is the pulse voltage output the same as the 6014? Thanks George

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Sorry to hear about your spit djay. I think I'll go with CA and glass tape to repair mine. Thank you both tevans and viper for your input I haven't heard of any such problems with the fuse of the early version of the spitfire. Have they made the recent one lighter to save us from nose weight in expense of structural integrity? .....just wondering.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
The fuse actually split open at the bottom and I have glued it together with thin cyano. I will but some fiberglass cloth in the inside. But do I use cyano or fiberglass resin? The rest of the cracks I put some thin cyano. They will be filled with putty, sanded and painted. The whole thing happened when I ground looped it on landing. It span 180 degrees and I could see the fuse bending. Even the tail wheel tire came out of the rim. I'm really worried about the whole fuse even though the damage only seems to be in the areas shown at the pictures.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
Here are some images of my engine instalation ...and the cracks on the fuse :( So far due to some glass tape reinforsement and a ply plate to separate the powerbox from the rest of the fuse, the firewall seems ok and doesn't seem to be affected by the large hole for the muffler nor by the heat generated. I suppose only time will tell.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
I used the stock tank in mine. I too run a 120 Ax but I run it very rich at 7900 rpm with a 16x8 Graupner It actually sounds like a 4stroke withe the stock muffler. I get about 8 minutes of flying time with a couple of oz of fuel to spare. But then again it is still very rich. PS. Would heave fiberglass tape and thin cyano on the inside be enough to repair my cracked fuse or to I need to use something else?

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
fuel tanks? I used epoxy in mine for the front radiator and I just used screws on the wing radiators in case I have to access the flap servos. And a quick flight report. I did a flight today but I ground looped it on touch down. The model span 180 degrees. The result? A nice big crack along the bottom of the fuselage (it actually split open at the sim) and several small ones towards the tail ;(((. How am I going to reach in and fix this? Any suggestions? The fuse seems to be too thin but the rest of the model is intact.

RE: KMP New Spitfire Mk XIV
A quick C of G question. I have the newer version with the stripes. Installed the 1.20 ax on the nose and I used it's original muffler. I used bends and pipes from krumscheid germany and I managed to get it completely inside the cowl with virtualy no cutting. I have the receiver battery as far forward as possible on a 100 gram plate on top of the engine. (4 sub C cells) In addition

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Installing a Rossi 40 is doable but not advisable. I did it with a 53. I managed to balance the plane by placing the batteries and 160 gr of lead in a hatch in front of the trailing edge. You will have to split the engine mount in half so that the motor can fit. I'm not sure it is worth the effort though and the plane won't go any faster than with a 36. Mine showed 197 kph on the radar with an apc 9x9. I think mainly due to the thick airfoil.

Global Ultimate thrust angles???
That is great information, thanx. I’ll start flying it without the cowl and make any necessary adjustments then. About the aileron servos, I’ve just enlarged the standard mounting hole so that it can hold two standard servos mounted side by side. Now about the nose weight I’ll see how it goes and if everything moved forward and weight still needed, I’ll go for the ST 90 Regards George C

What bat. and speed controler for twin 300's?
Thank you for your input, it was really helpful. I think I’ll keep the speed controller I’m using now and I’ll go for a HECELL pack. I did a quick search and found them in a site called edogfight.com They say they can give up to 16 amps. I hope that is sufficient. Further more it seems that the 8 cell pack is about 50 grams lighter that the one I’m using now. Thanks for the help George C
