It is a very intresting subject, I too have been researching this as a twin electric possible build. I have located some good 3-views and other drawings. I will be standing by if you choose to begin a build thread... George

My Red and Gold runs much better than my Black and Aluminum engine too. I have seen many a buy it on the net add that was obvious that the seller had no idea of what they really had. Many of the sellers simply now what sells best and for how much... I've made a buck or two on a couple of my engines a few years ago. Sold one for way less then I should have, had I only known. But on the other hand I got my original investment back plus a little. I'm not in it for the bucks... Just glad to send them to someone who will use them... George

RE: Flite Streak for Tee Dee
Stuntflyr, Jam nuts are on the list of little things to do. also need to put the little c-clips on the clevis pins too. Those flimsy RC clevis's may look flimsy, but I have had many a flight (with another 1/2A plane) with no problems what so ever. Another item on the list is a pinch off mechanism to hold the pacifier until the engine is started. George

RE: Cox Tee Dee 049 High Performance Cylinders
As I recall, with the original metalurgy of the piston and the cylinder, the hotter the engine got the tighter the fit became. Thus the taper was introduced to keep the bottom end friction down. My old speed engine I could drop a piston in from the top and it would drop through the cylinder when dry. How ever it takes a high RPM starter to start the engine. I think Bernie and his support group have the metalurgy better accounted for now. George

RE: Cox Tee Dee 049 High Performance Cylinders
Very nice Bernie, The cylinder pattern I provided was the Dale Kirn/Jim Wade 1/2A Proto record engine spec. from 1976. It was a high rev capable Tee Dee on very high Nitro fuel. I do understand the idea of fuel swirl from a schnural type engine, but does having two exhaust ports negate the swirl effect? Most modern engines have two intake ports, one boost port and only one exhaust port. George

Okay... Thanks, Gungadin.... Put covering on top of wing... Still no tips yet but I put everything on the scale... wow, 8.3 oz still on target but was hoping for a little less. Plan to use surgical tubing bladder for tank, so that won't add much weight. I could have use other materials to get weight down, but hey... use what ya got... George More pics soon....

RE: Flite Streak for Tee Dee
I have built a plane of my own design, based loosely off of the 1/2A combat plane called the "Cheap imitation" (by Gene Pape and John Thompson) I built the wing out to 30" span (24" original design), added a full body simalur to Dale Kirn's "Torky" only scaled up to fit wing, added flaps and called it "Gil's Folly". It was a blast to fly. On 42' (.008") lines it would do an overhead figure 8 without going slack on the lines. That's why I wanted to do a intermidiate design of the flight streak, something large enough to slow it down a bit but light enough to fly well. George
