And for your brakes, check your brakes rod (the 2 little rod that pull the thing that brake lol), you'll see a black thing on each rod's end with a small allen nut... For your differential fluid, just open it up. They're no other way around.
ORIGINAL: 73bronco Has anyone else had trouble burning up the 2 bearings in the clutchbell !!!!!! and is there any upgraded bearings!!!!!!
If you want better clutchbell bearings, just go grab a set of sealed LOSI or TA one (~10-15$ for 4). They are the same.. just bring one at your local hubby. I used the sealed bearings and it's x10 better than thoses from Redcat... And, sry for my bad english, but what do you mean by "burning" the bearings? Seeya bronco! :) EDIT: If you want more, search Internet for metric 5*11*4 bearings... Redcat "11*5*4" = "5*11*4" for every other company... don't really know why... Thoses would work no1 : www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/Kit7598 and it would kick ass. EDIT2: Even thoses could work nicely... but I'm sure you don't want to spend 100$ per bearing lol ;) www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/Kit7405

And another question : I heard that the Monsoon got a full front upgrade, which works a way lot better than the older monsoon, but the Avalanche haven't... Is it possible to see an upgrade like this for the Avalanche? If yes I would buy a complete front to replace mine... (Or could the new steering system of the monsoon could fit in my Avalanche?) ty.

RE: ReCat Delivered Yesterday.... In Repair Today- Not Happy
My Avalanche isn't able to keep it together lol... First thing I screw up was clutchbell/bearings (2 times.. first with redcat stuff, second with LOSI) +30 Second was a servo +30 Third was another servo +30 After it was the rear chassis brace, so rear dogbone on a nice jump... +30 After it was another damn servo, and it cost my an entire front (the servo bugged and turned full left... crashed into trottoir a sidewalk... over 80$ here + a new servo again (JR now).. (I HATE E900x)) +130 After it was the starter rope, fixed it, and it broke again on my first try this year... +20 After that... the foam were dust... 40$ of foam... +40 And now guess what? It's the center diff that just broke... +30 And I don't count the countless stripped bolts I removed and changed. The only thing that doesn't give up on my truck is the SH.28... During the sames bashing session, my friend with his Savage broke (He's far crazyer than me... much more harder than me on his toys... ): 1 suspension arm. 1 spur gear. Now count what I added onto mine... I spent so much $$ on this thing that I could have a Savage + a few upgrades ... And It's not even a year since I purchased... 1 gallon + 3/4 of another later... If someone wants pieces or want my truck, PM me...

RE: Redcat stock tires and foam...
In one of my tires, I got one foam in "semi-good" shape... it's only a flat foam folded in two... rounded around my rim, nothing like the white foam on my picture. It's hardly something that could be called a "tire foam"... Note : with the new foam it's running more stable than ever...

RE: Redcat stock tires and foam...
I tryed the boiling method for the others and it's much more faster. 1- 5 Minutes boiling 2- Use Unbonder when necessary ~10-15 minutes per tires. Works nicely. The other foam were less destroyed than the first, but... still at least 1/2 dust , the rest were little pieces lol Check this out : the boiling technique : topsecretcarssecrets.com/cars/rc-tire-removal-by-boiling-prolineracingcom

RE: Redcat stock tires and foam...
Do you think a little bit of WD40 could burn the foam like that? If yes, it might be that... the other tire foam seems less destroyed than this one... Normally, after each run, I use WD40 a bit, then use an air-compressor to dry it .... perhaps that's it... but for my rims normally I only use a scotttowel lol Anyway I'm going to bed :D GNight! :)

Redcat stock tires and foam...
I tryed my Avalanche this week (for the first time since the last 4 months) and I was wondering why it had a so bad handling... I got it NEW in box 9 months ago.... I didn't ran once this winter. So I checked if the foam were ok... the white one is a new one to replace this black crap.... Note: The white one are supposed to last a few years... why my redcat's one are now dust? I got a defect or something like this is the normal state of a 9month foam minus 4months of winter?

RE: Searching for a basher!!
LOSI XXL and T-Ten you say?? After checking the XXL can you tell if if the chassis is only one plate or 2 plates ? Why asking this? I distorted my Avalanche chassis plate after a few jumps.... (Didn't had a cam to record this :( was nice to see before it broke lol ) I'll go check the T-Ten too :) I don't really need a monster truck. I just want a solid basher :) And any good feedback from E-Revo users? I was interested in it too but so much $$$$!! (the fact that it can endure snow without any balloon or tricks is a really good point)... Ty again all! I'm learning something new within each post and really appreciate your help :)

Searching for a basher!!
Hi all! :) First of all, english isn't my primary language, so don't bash me if it's weird to read a bit ;) Ty :) I recently got bored of my RedCat Avalanche XP for so many reason.. but I'm sure I don't need to explain anything... It was my first truck, had fun with it and had my first experiences with RC hardware too. Now I'm searching for more handling/control/durability for my bashing sessions and I need your help!! 1. What is your experience level for driving and building RC cars and trucks? Have you ever driven one? Built one? - I bashed my repaired my Redcat for about an year now. I put on this little RC more in parts than it's total value lol. 2. Where do you plan on running your RC? - Grass, sand, perhaps snow during winter. 3. What is your intention for buying? Are you going to race or bash? - 100% basher! I was thinking about more control and handling than my Avalanche (not hard to find...)... 4. What is your budget? - Around 400$-800$ (400 used or 800 new)... 5. What scale RC are you looking for? 1/5, 1/8, 1/10, 1/12, 1/18, etc? -1/10 or 1/8. I already own a monster truck (if I can call that a Monster truck)... I'm open to everything as long as it's a durable basher (with good handling/control) 6. What type of power source do you want? Electric or Nitro? -Nitro/Electric.. I really don't care... 7. Are you looking for something durable with more support for replacement parts or "hop ups" or are you looking for an inexpensive car just to have fun with. -Durable. I tryed an inexpensive car and I won't retry thoses lol... I'm not a easy basher... I bash them hard ;) too hard for redcat to handle... 8. Do you want a RTR (ready to run with everything but fuel and batteries) or a kit that you would have to build and add parts manually to? - I don't really care... I got my first RTR... and now I'm feeling a little bit more experienced and wouln't mind going with a kit. 9. What type of starting system do you want? Bump box, roto-start, pull start, electric-start? -I'm a PullStart fan 10. Are you comfortable working on your own car for repairs or do you know a LHS (Local Hobby Shop) that can repair for you? -I'll be doing my own repairs, but I'll be coming on here for help. I bash mainly with one of my friend, and he's running a Savage 4.6. I can follow him everywhere, but mine is much more fragile and hard to control. I'm searching for something that could follow him, but much more durable (than mine). I really doesn't care about truck/monster/truggy... but I guess a truggy would make it more controllable... I need your help! :) Ty all! :)

RE: ReCat Delivered Yesterday.... In Repair Today- Not Happy
I can easily understand your point... My local redcat vendor told me thoses things (unscrew every screw and apply lock-tight, and the spur gear adjustment), so I got lucky. And I learned a few more things that you'll find usefull... 1- If any bearing break down, go buy LOSI sealed one... Changed them 3 times befores trying LOSI one and guess what... I bash them for about a 3/4 year now... and still works no1. 2- If any servo break down, don't buy SP9001... (the ones my localredcat was selling me as replacement of the stock one...) Changed them 3 times (3 is my magic number)... and now I'll go for a JR or something else. (When applying a small pressure on the servo arm, it make the OTHER servo shake... Tryed with a stock HPI savage servo and didn't saw this problem) 3- After each bash, verify every screw and pieces (if you didn't break anything...) and don't forget ... it's not a high-price/high-quality product... it's a "really good product for the price" one... And ask here! All the guys here are REALLY helpfull and won't blast you for a small mistake :) Learn and HAVE FUN :)

RE: Time for Redcat's big basher!!
The Avalanche isn't something comparable to a Savage... Handling on Savage is so much better... Durability too... I broke mine on a perfect landing... and guess what... it's entirely destroyed (need 120$ or parts to put it in working order again). While the savage took the same jump at insanely higher speed (2speeds) 10 more times... and it's still working no1. Even when comparing something as riduculous as "gaz tank", the Savage is still better! You simply can't compare both... The Savage is much more solid. But you can't say Avalanche is total shit too... it's a nice starter car, solid (but not as much as I wanted), works well and simple mecanics. 1 speed, but who need speed more than 40-50km/h when bashing (except for insane stunts...)? but please don't compare that to a Savage... Redcat could really benefit from a Savage-like car. Edit : I could follow the Savage anywhere, and that's a fact. Except insane stunts...

Hi! I'm searching for the best way to protect my Avalanche from snow! I was thinking about ballons, but I can't seems to be able to fit this without breaking it apart...
