RE: Mayhem Pro vs RTR?
www.fullthrottlehobbies.com Also caries hop ups for the mayhem. There are a few diff between the pro version and the rtr. None of them will make your buggy faster though, just more durable. If you don't have a good radio the rtr comes with a great one.

RE: What buggie to start racing with?
You aren't going to beat the mayhem for the money! You get a great radio with a usable servo, a powerfull engine that most tracks want gripe about, and an awsome price tag. I don't get how people think rtr's arn't race material. The people that think that are the people that think money can buy them a win!! In the right hands a mayhem is just as competitive as a mugen!! Go with the mayhem and you want be disapointed. It is a much better buggy for the money than the hyper 7 is. Check out www.fullthrottlehobbies.com for mayhem prices, they are pretty cheap!

Mayhem!! It is the only wa to go. You can get it in an rtr or a pro version. It is the best rtr on the market right now!

RE: Mayhem-Mayhem
If you are racing on an oval have you tried putting as much caster in on the left side as you can and takeing as much out on the right as you can? This will make the car want to turn left!! if you want to keep both sides even trim the upper a-arms and put a 3mm spacer in the back and a 1mm spacer in the front. This helped mine out a bunch! Also if you it is pushing you should try putting the lightest fluid you can in the rear diff. Try putting a little toe out in the front. If you are running on the oval put stiffer springs on the right side. These are just a few things that helped me back when I raced on road that might help you.

RE: busted clutch bell bearing!
Any local lhs should have them! And they are all the same size, atleast for an 1/8th scale buggy they are. I would recomend Racer's edge bearings, they seemed to last the longest of anything I have tried!

RE: Picking the right pipe?
if you are getting that bad of fuel times then you could lean it out just a hair more. I would also try some O'donnel. I switched from trinity to o'donnel and was able to lean my engine out one and a half turns and picked up almost a whole nother min of run times. Anything below 250 temp wise should be fine.

I don't think the pipe will make that big of diff on the fuel. It is all in the tune of the engine. What kind of fuel are you runing?

RE: Picking the right pipe?
If you take an engine that has alot of top end and not alot of bottom end and add a pipe that is made for low end you will sacrifice a little up top. For example I have a Sportwerks mayhem with the .26 engine. That thing would scream down the straights but had no bottom end. I put a bottom end pipe on it and now it is even through out! I lost a little straight away speed but picked up a butt load coming out of the turns!! I am running mugen carbon shoes and 1.0 mm springs. I would recomend the Jammin jp-1 pipe for bottom end needs and a jp-2 for your top end needs.

RE: Official Mayhem Thread
You should get the mugen body or even the new body from sportwerks and paint it that way!! It would look sweet! I try and keep mine clean but I never go to the extent of making her shine. I normally just spray it down with simple green and blow it off with an air hose. It works really well, about once every two months or so I will tear mine down and clean every thing!! I will have parts all over the kitchen counter to the point that I have to start re-assembly in the chair! lol [:@]

I would say the Mayhem. It is the best deal for the money!! And most tracks don't complain about the .26 engine especially for beginners!! You get a great radio and that .26 really screams!! The mayhem is really fast and stable and is already tuned realy nice for a newbie!

RE: Official Mayhem Thread
RC is right. I too am running 5-7-2. It works really well. On all buggies if the diffs are run for a month or more on a regular baseis they will be dry. If it has been more than a month since any of yall have checked your diff fluids I would highly recomend it!!! You want believe the diff it makes by having fresh fluid. It isn't very hard just keep all the screws organized and have your manual ready. It is time comsuming however especially for the first timer. I would have to say it took me the better part of 4 hours non stop to change all mine the first time. Now I have it down pat to where I can do it in an hour!! Make sure you have a little pick or a tiny phillips head screwdriver handy to dig the dirt out of the bolts on the bottom of the chassie so you don't round them off.

RE: best racing ST
By far the Mugen is the best racing truck. Not only is it cheap to buy but it is very durable. I have had both the AD2 and the Mugen and the mugen handles just as good if not better and is way more durable!! With my AD2 I was breaking something all the time. And my buddy had an RC10GT and hated it. He said it was the worst handeling truck he ever drove and is weaker than any of the others out right now!! Also the Mugen has the best suspension out of all the top 3!

RE: Official Mayhem Thread
yes I have had an axle break. Mine snapped off clean at the hub. I replaced it with a Hot bodies unit because that was all that was available! The high pitched noise is the diffs. What happens is these diffs send power to the side that has the least resistance. so when that front driveshaft broke it caused the engine to spead up cause only that side was trying to pull! I don't know why it stopped going all together cause it should still move unless you fryed a bearing in the clutch bell at the same time.

RE: Stop from bottoming out?
Move the shocks all the way to the last hole on the lower a-arms. Then use the hole on the shock tower wich stands them as straight up as possible! Use thick shock oil and a stiffer spring. But like the rest have said you are going to bottom out, the best thing to do is get throttle control and get to where you can land the jumps on the down ramps. Not only does this save your chassie but it will make you faster. Slow down your approach to the jumps if you are overshooting them.

RE: JP-1 on mayhem gains??
There is a little allen wrench/ wire that goes into the end of your stock pipe. You will have to modify it or make you a new one to fit the jp-1 and it can also be used to hold the pipe up off the mud gaurds. There is a set screw in the end of your muffler and the jp-1 that you tighten down on the holder. Also I stated above that you WOULD need to cut your body!

RE: JP-1 on mayhem gains??
Man that thing is awsome on my buggy. That engine has a ton of top end but not alot of bottom end and it lacks a little throttle response. When I put that pipe on there it was like a whole new engine!! There has been times where coming off a jump it has gone into a wheelie! There is two prob. One, your stop support will have to be shortend, and Two, it doesn't fit inside the splast gaurds. It kindof rides on top of it! I have mine supported just a little off of them so it doesn't rub the pipe. And then of course you will have to trim your body to clear it.
