RE: Anyone good a photoshop?
Thanks for all the replies everyone, but my mate came over and he did it for me. And now I realized that I wasn't being clear about it. I'll attach the image that we came up with. I kinda was shootin for "the original ghost buster" or something, with the ghostbusters symbol on the side of pacman like it is on the side of their car.

Anyone good a photoshop?
Hello. I'm looking for someone who is good at photo-shop or photo-editing in general to make an image for me. Well really to combine two images. I'm looking for the ghost busters symbol put on pacman. It's a funny idea to me but I can't find the image anywhere. I'll post the images I'm talking about below. It doesn't have to be these exact ones, but something like this: Ghostbusters: [image]http://www.ufodigest.com/images/ghostbusters.jpg[/image] Pacman: [image]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/49/Pacman.svg/541px-Pacman.svg.png[/image]

In case you're wondering, WFO means Wide F***** Open (in my dictionary at least). Same as WOT or Wide Open Throttle

RE: New Firestorm 10t owner
The fuel tank has a fuel filter that comes with it, so you won't need an extra in-line one. It sounds like you've definitely done your research. As for the fail safe, it doesn't really matter which one you get.

RE: New Firestorm 10t having some issues
Was it running full throttle, or just with throttle applied? Either way, it sounds like a radio/electrical problem. Take off the air filter and see how far open the hole it in there. It should be about 1-2mm at idle

RE: New to RC, buggy or truck?
A truggy or stadium truck (which is 2 wheel drive) seems best suited for what you are looking for. Although, if you really don't want one, it sounds like a monster truck would be the winner. Buggy's can't really handle grass and not too much off road due to the low ground clearance. They are more designed for the track. It sounds like you'll just be bashing, but do you plan to race with it? Go check out your local hobby shop and see what they have and what they have parts for. And although they are cheaper, don't get an off brand rig.

Ok i'll try resetting the LSN ASAP. The fuel is XTM 20%. It's probably 7-8 months old, but was stored sealed in a cool dark place. But I'm gonna get some new fuel tomorrow as I'm going to be near my hobby shop. I'll keep you posted.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
So I was out running the storm today and still having problems. First I reset it to factory settings. I first tuned the high speed, then the low speed, then the idle. It still had trouble starting, even before tuning it. It still has the starting problem after the first tank too. Also, it's running hot. I got it tuned then I took the temp and it was at 260! I took it back to factory settings on the HSN and it was running 230ish. I took the temps after 3 or 4 WOT passes. And I think i'm getting the half tank lean issue too. On the first tank I filled it all the way and the idle was good. Then the second tank I only filled it half way and the idle was increasing as if the LSN was too lean. It still randomly shuts off too, even with a new glow plug. I'm thinking it might be the fuel, so I'm going to buy some fresh stuff soon. Oh, and I did try starting it off the ground and it still has the same problem, so I guess the rules out the clutch

There is no best car. There is probably a car best suited to what you want, but there is no best. At you looking for a monster? buggy? truggy? racing? bashing? where will you be driving it?

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
There's a fuel filter in the tank? I didn't know that. I'll probably just go to using that one then instead of both. So [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cKz2HCKMc4]HERE IS THE VIDEO[/link] of starting the car. I think the LSN is a little rich maybe? I did it before I came on here and saw what you said about the clicking not being important. I haven't run more than one tank in a row yet, but I'll let you know what happens. And I'm pretty sure I got the idle good. I'll probably go do some more testing with it tomorrow so I'll let you know then.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
Yeah I'm priming it. I do have a fuel filter that makes little air bubbles in the fuel line, but there's nothing i can do about that. Should I prime it extra due to the bubbles? Also, what is that clicking noise, and why does the engine stall when that happens? I'll try to post of vid of what's going on

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
[quote]ORIGINAL: Road Warrior since these are 1/10 scale trucks 132 is 1/10 of a quarter mile [/quote] I thought it had something to do with that. So I'm having some problems again (I knew I was jinxing myself last time). This time it's with starting. Here's how it usually goes when I'm trying to start it: first 5 or so pulls, nothing. then next 5 or 7 it sputters to life then the pullstart makes a "click" noise and it shuts off. After that I can get it going. This is all with the throttle trim up by the way. The needles are tuned good, but I richened up the LSN to see if it helped. Also, I set the idle so the wheels don't spin off the ground, but after a few seconds of idling it starts to rev up. I'm pretty sure its just not getting enough fuel but i haven't had time to test it yet. that's not a big problem at all, my main concern is the starting. I have yet to get it to start on the first pull and I would really like to achieve that.

10% oil vs 12% oil - worth the price?
My hobby shop only sells three brands of fuel: XTM Racing fuel, Trinity Horsepower, and one other that I don't know the name. Right now, I have the XTM 20% and it has 10% castor/synthetic blend of oil for $30 a gallon. The Trinity Horespower 20% has 12% blend of oil for $34. Is it worth the extra $4 to get 2% more oil? Also, the third kind has 20% synthetic oil for around $34. Which would you recommend getting? It is for my HPI Firestorm with the G3.0 engine.

I'm pretty sure they'll fit, but I will they be good for the front and the back, or should I stick with the rib tires in the front? Also, will .5 oz of tire glue be enough for 4 tires? And one more thing, I heard that you can use super glue instead of tire glue, any word on this?

to polish it do you just sand off the black paint and polish it with some metal polisher? and did you do that on the inside too?

nate4- as coyote said, did you break it in? are the needles still at factory settings? And I forgot to post this about a week ago but better late than never: When I was trying to start my car (back when I was having lots of problems) it sounded almost plugs up or something. Then on one of the pulls what look like a little piece of black tape came out of the exhaust. On the next pull it started fine. The tape was soaking wet so it wasn't sticky. Was this like a piece of lining or something?

RE: CONTROL PROBLEM - WONT REVERSE
The REV switch on the controller swithches the controls for the trigger, not the direction of the car. With the switch in one position, pull means go and push means stop. in the other, pull means stop and push means go. it's the same for the steering switch.

The temps are now around 220 to 230 and it runs solid. I don't know why it was so hot and acting weird that day. And plus where I live it's about 75 in summer and 60 in winter so the med or med/hot plugs are good

Thanks warrior, i'll check that out. I went out to the park today and it was a lot of fun! It was way easy to pop wheelies in the grass. I brought one of my skateboard ramps along too. The only thing that happened was I dive bombed off the ramp and one of the ball linkages for the front steering snapped off, but I popped it back on and was good to go. My friend filmed but I forgot to set the camera right so it was out of focus the whole time. I'll be sure to set it good next time.
