RE: Hanger Designs Sea Cruiser II Build Thread
You're not the 1st person to talk about blowing up to 60 size. I heard several people here on the seaplanes forum were thinking about it too, but I never saw any results - so don't know if it was done or not. I also prefer dual ail servo's, but for this application the single and torqe rod works great and keeps the ail servo dry. I'd stay with the internal servo. Any simple yet visible scheme will do. Just stick with something that shows up good in the air. One of my fav moves with the SC is to get it up on the step and you can kick in some rudder and it does some nice side skids on the water. Very cool and fun!!

RE: Hanger Designs Sea Cruiser II Build Thread
Nice find Silverwings! I love mine! I would highly recommend building it stock. The plane is great as is. Follow the directions and plan and you will have a great plane. In my opinion the SeaCruiser is far superior to the Seamaster. I've flown both and the Seamaster is trainer like sometimes, but has some quirks with the tall motor pylon. The SeaCruiser is solid in all flight areas, and water handling is superb. It performs fine with the recommended powerplants. No need whatsoever to overpower it. Any more questions let me know. Here's some pics of mine in a thread that I started: [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_788617/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm]SeaCruiser II[/link]

Yes, but for lots and lots of running I've heard that the castor can gum up the valves, so guys that are running castor in their 4C's like a very small percentage.

RE: EF Chinn Yak
I run Wildcat or Coopers 20/20 4C fuel in all my Saitos. I have been happy with it. IMHO running the engine dry after flying is far more important than after run oil. I have found myself skipping the oil unless I think they are going to sit for over a month. My planes sit in a dry basement and I've never had any probs with rust.

RE: What to do with these planes....
wot4dave is somewhat correct.., Iv'e had only marginal luck selling half done planes online. It has to be something someone really wants. The construction has to be straight and true - and you have to convince your buyers that it is. Savvy buyers are always leary of getting a poorly built plane online. Also, if you sell online be prepared to spend a LOT of time boxing and packing. Uncovered planes are more fragile than covered.

Field Plane Bench Dimensions
Anyone have dimensions for plane tables that you see at some fields? The ones I've seen have arems to hold back the plane and plenty of area to support most sport size planes. Thanks in advance.

RE: Mojo 40 or 60?
That is a super light weight for a 60 mojo. Good job keeping the weight down. I think you'll find that after you fly it you'll want the CG back more. I have Mojo 40, 60 and 25 and every one that I've flown I've moved the CG back after flying it. All are a blast.

RE: Mojo 40 or 60?
This is easy - You NEED both [:D] I have both the Mojo 40 and 60 (with bigger tail). I have a webra 50 on the 40 and a Saito 100 on the 60. Both are a total blast. The 40 is easier to haul due to the smaller size so it goes to the field more. The 40 is awesome and can be yanked around. The 100 pulls the 60 like a rag doll - it flys like an overpowered feather. Both are awesome. I have a 25 mojo built and covered (see thread in this forum), but haven't flown it yet.

RE: EF Chinn Yak
pani, mount your switch wherever you want, it doesn't matter much as long as it's out of the oil stream. Mount all your servo's, linkages and install all your radio gear. Then put your engine (with prop and spinner if you use one) on the rails and hold it on with rubber bands (no bolts yet). Then you will be able to move your engine around and check the CG. When it's where you want, then mount your engine. My 82 came in about the middle of the space on the rails. I wouldn't want it back any further as it gets hard to get a glow ignighter on.

I'm flying mine with the stock gear. I've had to bend it back a few times, but it is holding up fine. Sometimes I glue a scrap of balsa between the upper and lower spars (Like a sheer web) to make a compartment for the batt in the LE.
ORIGINAL: diamondave are you guys building little trays for bat and reciever?
Wrap the batt in Foam rubber and stuff in the LE. Velcro and a small wrap of foam rubber is fine for RX. Sometimes I use cup hooks and rubber bands if there's room.
