Cubnut, Nice looking Cub! Did you use the Sig cylinders? I'm getting ready to build my 1/4 scale Sig J3 and would like to use some cylinders with a little more detail. Thanks, Scott

Saito 125 Owners....
I'm thinking about purchasing one of these for my SIG 1/4 scale Cub. How do you like this engine? I was looking at the 120 originally and saw the 125. It's a bit lighter than the 120, but seems to produce the same HP. I have three other Saitos and none have given me any trouble. Thanks, Scott

RE: Curtiss Robin
The Curtiss Robin is one of my favorites! Yours should turn out to be a nice slow flying floater with all the wing area. You might be able to fit a smaller fuel tank in the 6-8 oz range. I had a 6oz tank in my old Quaker Flash with a Saito FA-40. I flew it at less than half throttle most of the time and often would come back with only half of that fuel tank cap. used. Post some more pics when you finish her! I have the Robin on my short list after I build my Sig 1/4 scale J3! Scott

RE: Cri Cri Worlds smallest twin
The full scale plane doesn't look much larger than yours [;)] One could probably buy the full scale and put radio gear in it and fly it as an RC model. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4833643/tm.htm Scott

RE: Sweetest sound you ever heard
Any engine sounds sweet to me, as long as it's running correctly [;)] But my favorites are single row radials from 3 to 9 cylinders.

RE: Flying Alone
I fly during the week. There is always a small group of folks out flying and I feel much more relaxed flying with them. I think I have flown alone maybe one time in the last four years and it is kind of unnerving whilst flying. There is that feeling I have wondering who's going to come up behind me out there in the middle of nowhere and put a cap in my head. Then they have my car and all my gear and nobody would ever know who did it. I know it sounds paranoid, but it can happen.

RE: How do you pronounce "Megow"?
Welcome to the forum cathlone! An old fellow in our club who was building and flying these kits as free flighters back in the 30's and 40's set me straight on the pronunciation of 'Megow' [:D] Incidentally, I sold my 67" Quaker Flash to him a couple of months ago which is set up for 3 channel RC. He's really enjoying this model! Scott

RE: 88" Flying Quaker build
I used the 'Antique Yellow' Solartex. The vintage stuff should also have some transparency. You will love working with Solartex. It seals up nicely and shrinks tightly around curved areas. I've never used Balsaloc, but I guess it's basically a pre-adhesive the same as Balsarite. I have no experience with Dull Cote. Scott

I Thought This Was an RC Model Plane.......
Until I saw the dude hop in and take off[sm=what_smile.gif] I think it is a French full scale experimental aircraft called a Cri-Cri or something of that sort. Jeez, it even sounds like a giant scale model! http://flight.cz/cricri/vids/v2.wmv My apologies if this has been posted before. Scott

RE: making vintage wheels
I used to used those wheels made by Perfect for my old Sterling 1/2 A CL planes. Those wheels were pretty heavy and durable. I still use a few of them on my RC planes as tailwheels if I need to add a little weight in the rear for balance[:D]
