RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
I would have no way to know that your computers crashed.. . I have re forwarded all of my e-mails with regards to what we have been talking about for the past 10 months. Which should be on your E-mail server unless that company lost all your information at the same time your computer crashed - seems odd. So you couldn't even send a message on here via PM? or see that I am still in need of parts from this thread? I just don't understand why this is such a big deal. I have done nothing to you only asked for what you have promised me I have paid you FULL price for the plane not the "discount price" I paid full pop for shipping and was promised replacement parts for the ones that arrived damaged as well as the upgraded parts. here is all that I need... Carbon Wing tube and tail tube., Wheel pants, and cowl.

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
Gerry, Has there been any updates on the parts I am in need of? If you recall when I ordered this plane so, so long ago you and I had a long conversation with regards to how I was treated by Troy built models when my 50cc Corsair showed up crushed in shipping. How I was unable to get any type of help and basically had to eat the kit even after UPS paid them for the damages which I never saw a penny of. You promised me at that time that you were going to do things differently and if I ever had any type of issue you would take care of it ASAP. Gave me your word and said customer services was your #1 priority. So again I will ask as we approach 10 months since I have asked for your help with this plane. Is there any type of ETA for the parts so I can build my plane?

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
ORIGINAL: Capt Midnight Gerry, The carbon fiber parts arrived today and look very good. Thanks. I've noticed a few posts referring to reinforced cowls. My cowl is OK, and I've reinforced it further with baffles to aid cooling, so I really don't think I need a new cowl. I'm still trying to figure out however, what happening with the struts that were promised last year. I'm one of the customers that paid full price when the 50 cc version was first introduced, and then the price was later discounted to reflect the lesser quality of the ARF's that came in on the first shipment. Perhaps you can fill me in as to the status with Robart... Bob
I am also in the same boat I was one of the very 1st to pay full pop for this ARF 50cc version. Was promised upgraded parts and struts and have yet to see anything. To say I'm Frustrated would be an understatement.

Gerry, Please also make sure that the Updated cowl and wheel pants are included on my order. They were not listed on the invoice you sent at the start of last month. These were also parts that you told me specifically you would replace over 9 months ago. Thank you

RE: Giant Model Products Introduces a 50cc GeeBee R3 ARF
I have sent you E-mails and I have called. Yes maybe it was 4 months ago, but you did assure me that you would keep me updated. I do not get on the forums much and it is sad that the only way I can get some sort of update is to read through pages of posts of folks asking for the same thing. Lets be realistic about this. I'm sure what you sold maybe 30 to 50 of these planes? Would it be so hard to set up a group E-Mail in your chosen service provider and to maybe type up a quick update each month to send out. Even if it just says sorry no update yet. It is something that will reassure your customers that you are dealing with it and are staying in touch. It's really sad that customer service is not what it should be. If you have time to type on a forum I'm sure you have time to send those of us that have paid you an updated E-mail every now and again. Its not something that need to hide in a Private Message as I can bet there are others that don't speak up that feel the same way. Please let me know if you need a shipping address again and I will give you a call or E-Mail it to you. John

Looking for an update on the replacement parts that were promised for my 50cc version. It has been well over 8 months and I have not received one promised part or even a single updated E-mail for that matter on what is going on. My plane is still in the box awaiting the updated parts as promised.

RE: HOBYY KING Has Ripped Me Off!!!!!
I too had never had an issue and have made well over 15 orders with them in the past some for several hundred $. The issue this time was that they shipped me the wrong item. No big deal I thought at first. I will just return it and get the correct item. I contacted support, sent pictures of the original packing and contents. Sent them a photo copy of my UPS tracking info and was promised a refund of my shipping costs as well as they would send the correct item. We ll as it turns out they now will not refund my shipping expense and have basically told me too bad sorry we cant help you. This is not up to industry standards and this is not how a company that is trying to make a foot hold in this down economy should treat people who consistently spend money with them. They have lost me as a customer for ever. They have lost most of the folks at my flying field as customers and hopefully one or two people will read this and not go to them for their orders. So in turn this simple refund of $36 will amount to a much much greater amount over the long run. I did my part and did everything by their requests and still they blow me off. Its not OK its not right and these forums are my only way of letting others know what to watch out for if you are ever in the same situation. Thanks for reading

RE: HOBYY KING Has Ripped Me Off!!!!!
It is sad because I spend a lot of money on this Hobby as do most of us. And for them to blow me off in this matter they have shot themselves in the foot so to speak. The lack of help and or service that was shown to me will cost them so much more in sales. I can only hope they show up to the Hobby Expo next year... I will make sure they understand my frustration..

RE: HOBYY KING Has Ripped Me Off!!!!!
No those are the correct dimensions of the box that this plane arrived in. The issue was also he was giving the box dimensions of the Cessna that had I ordered. Not the big F18 EDF that was sent to me. I tried over and over to explain this to them but he could not understand that.

HOBYY KING Has Ripped Me Off!!!!!
I placed an order with Hobby King for a Cessna 172 Balsa ARF. I received my order about 10 days later, only issue is that Hobby King sent me a cheap foam F18 EDF Fighter jet . I contacted the support line and was told to ship the model back to them and they would send out the correct item. I was told to include my tracking info and cost incurred so that I could be refunded my shipping costs. I did all of this. I shipped the model back via UPS ground included the recipet and tracking numbers in the box as well as sent all the info via E-Mail and via Online Chat session with the operator RICKY . After not hearing anything for 10 days I contacted them tonight. I will post my entire chat session with them here so you can see how this company truly operates . I incurred a cost of $36 to ship this item back to them due to the box size. I did not change anything in terms of packing of box size from the time it was received to the time I sent it back. Tonight I am told that they will not refund my full shipping costs but only $10 of it. They are crooks, liars and cheats. Please see my attached Chat session and read for yourselves. Mind I did everything they asked of me down to the letter. Please note these are direct screen shots so some text my over lap from each one

Just wondering for those of us that have already put out the money for the first kit. Will you be sending us these upgrades.. Please let me know before I begin building mine. As this would seem to include wheel pants, cowl, and wings along with wing tube and possible canopy

RE: My bad Troy Built Models experience
Troy Built is the worst company I have ever seen or dealt with. You think $10 is bad they got me for over $375. I am in the middle of filing suit against them now. They need to be out of this hobby they are a black eye on the industry. And for those who say ahww look its his " first post" or your just here to " flame "to others shame on you. This company has a very bad rep on every hobby site you can find. BAD customer service and they just don't a crap about you after they have your money. Just because you did not get the shaft on an order means that others didn't!

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair
I'm just done with them and I'm moving on. The whole thing just kind of burned me out on building my plane. I did not know at the time but another fellow at my club was in a heated go around with them at the same time. His was over motor issue. Give me a week or 2 and I'm sure I will jump in and start making the repairs so I can start the build. I promise to post some pictures as I go, and any hits from those that have run this road before me would be great. I am still thinking of a G62 for weight reasons, but am still on the fence. Once I get her under way I'm sure the build will go quickly. I'm really surprised there are no pictures or videos up yet of finished birds or detailed flying reports. hmmmmm
