RE: Thoughts on Reactor Bipe?
Just picked up the Reactor Bipe, Rimfire 35-36-1000, CC Thunderbird 54, going with Futaba3156 servo's, with Electrifly 2100Mah 20c 11.1v packs. Looks like it should be a fun bird/combo. Going to start assembly in a few minutes!

RE: Precision Aerobatics announces electric extra 260
Could your motor thrust angle be off a bit? Need more info on its flying and trim etc to make a determination. Reason I mentioned thrust line on the motor is that both my Extra and Katana both needed a bit of down thrust.

I appreciate everyone's comments. I have decided to send the FG back and move up to the 14. Simply cause I can I guess..

I see your point... However the 9Z was around for more than 10 years. I would hope that the 12Z and 14Mz would last that long or longer.

I am! I feel any of the 3 TX I listed will last that long with software support/upgrades... ASSUMING they keep supporting them with updates LoL.

RE: 12FG wished you hadnt?
I dug through many many posts etc working towards a decision on which transmitter I was going to purchase as an upgrade to my 9C.. I could make a case for any of them LoL. I decided to go with the 12FG 2.4 that is on sale currently.... Once in my hands I am not sure I like how it feels or looks. Sure it has the capabilities to fly anything I own currently and in the future more than likely.. With no one having any stock of these expensive radios in stock its hard to put ones hands on them to get a feel for them... As a good friend mentioned to me, the 14's cost spread over the next 10-20 years is not that much, is now ringing louder to me after putting my hands on the 12FG.

RE: QQ Python 85cc version??
Reza, sorry I should have carried over my title into my question. Python is there going to be a 85cc version? I hear that the 100 is a much better choice in the current Python format, however this was also true for the Yak until the 85 version came out. I already own a DA - 85 and will have to utilize it versus getting a 100. Just curious..... Planning another bird for my 85, current airframe is many years old and wanting to update.

RE: New video of Giles, manuals
Well I have a DA-85 in my trusty ole H9 Cap 232 which is from '02 so I am thinking of replacing the airframe. I love how it flys but might as well move to something new. Only complaint about it is it is a FLOATER LoL, good complaint to have.

A missed firewall drill is not the end of things.....Simply glue in some hardwood dowels in the holes and drill some new one's! I have done this with great success many times! Engine changes, used birds, measurement mess up's you name it I have done it LoL. WONT hurt a thing!

RE: Precision Aerobatics announces electric extra 260
I have not adjusted the right thrust for the fact that all other aspects the thrust angle appears to be good. So figure if I really wanted to eliminate it then I could use a mix or simply fly it. Its pretty easy to fly it so I have just continued to do it this way. Was just curious if I have overlooked something simple that someone else had done to fix it LoL.

Yeah all my planes make left turns during upright harriers LoL. Nothing major but slowly turn. Inverted harriers (PA Extra 260) are actually better and seem to hold a bit better line..

You fix it with thrust angle?? If so did you have to mix in rudder for higher speed flight?

All my planes, gas or electric do this... I guess I need to learn to add in a mix hehehehe. Right now I just fly it with the rudder. Mixes are just something I have not gotten into programming.

RE: Precision Aerobatics announces electric extra 260
Put another hour on my PA Extra 260 this morning, getting better every flight! Still working on CG getting it right. I am quite a bit behind the recommended range and still have to input a tiny bit of down elevator when inverted. BUT the wing rock is going away. I dont know the measurement at the moment since I am adjusting at the field per flight results, but enjoying the flying.!!!

RE: Precision Aerobatics announces electric extra 260
I have been flying the 12-6 and it has more than enough oomph! PA strongly suggests using the airscoops and I would say follow their suggestions. HOWEVER mine fell off and I have 90-100 minutes of flying time since and the ESC, Motor, and battery have all been pretty cool upon landing after 10-14 minute flights. I did mount the ESC on 1/4" stand-off's to allow air circulation over both sides, I believe this to be very helpful in keeping things cool. It is mounted to the side of the "engine box" inline with one of the air inlets to aid in cooling. I also opened up the aft fuse bottom as instructed in the manual to help with air exit. I will try and remember my infa-red temp gun next time I go fly and get some readings.

Mine has A LOT of wing rock, granted I am still trimming it out, probably have a bit much of elevator and need to move CG aft but still MORE wing rock than what I would have thought.

RE: Landing Advice
You can try aileron reflex...... Instead of mixing them as downward flaps have them up instead. This takes away lift making it land quicker.

RE: Precision Aerobatics announces electric extra 260
Just maidened my Yellow PA Extra 260 this afternoon... Its equipped with Thrust motor, Quantum ESC, Hitec HS-65 servo's, and Berg RX. It fly's very nice, stable, very capable, FUN, and landings were super fun and easy! Its another winner from PA. I would only make 3 changes to it, first would be to swap the pull-pull servo location to the back hatch opening. Second I would make the wings bolts opposite of what they are, add a piece of liteply or small hardwood block to the wing root rib to allow a nylon cap screw threaded in just like larger scale aerobats. Third change would be to move the horizontal stab forward so the trailing edge of the elevators are even with the rudder hinge line to eliminate the wing rock in high alpha manuevers. All in all a very fun bird! The Katana MD now has a brother in my Hangar! LOL.

I have several 28% and larger birds on 72Mhz with RX batteries almost immediately beside the ignition and have had NO problems. Just my experience. Matter of fact a few throttle servos on the other side of the engine box wood from ignitions and still no problems, so far. KEEPING my fingers crossed.
